INTRODUCTION
My second personal development plan will be covering the different challenges that l has
faced while learning. Since I am intending to make a professional career within the health and
social care sector, it is necessary for me to overcome the different challenges that l have referred
to in my podcast like communication and team working skills. Along with this, a personal
development plan will also go to take into consideration classes in order to improve my
vocabulary, and moreover working with my colleagues and lecturers will help me in becoming a
successful specialist in the health and social care sector.
LEARNING ON THE MODULE
There is a range of learning needs that are required by me to fulfill in order to become a
specialist within the health and social care sector. Improving communication skills required for
the need to improve my overall learning because as l mentioned in the previous assessment that
English is not my native language which has impacted negatively on my performance level at the
time of learning different clinical skills and engaging with my colleagues and lecturers. The
reason, I can provide is that all of the reading and writing we have to perform in English and
since, it is not my native language I go through different difficulties like grammatical mistakes
and so on. Another crucial learning need that occurred to me was an improvisation of clinical
skills as l am looking forward to grabbing an abortion within the health and social care sector
where it is may be possible that l have to perform different activities in a certain time frame if
any sort of situation takes place just like the whole world is dealing with the outbreak of Corona
Virus or Covid-19 (Harlock and et. al., 2020).
Basically, if I will become effective within clinical skills then it is may be possible that I
might start delivering services to do the patients dealing with any sort of injuries disease and so
on. In present context, I have taken different actions in order to improve my communication
skills I have started attending online classes in order to improve my vocabulary, novels and so
on. On the other hand, in order to improve my team working skill I first improved my listening
skill through which I can judge the other person with whom I am working and give them
suggestions based on the analysis over a particular topic. In order to improve communication
skills, I have utilised cognitive and behavioural theory, which might lead me to understand other
person’s perspective. Because it is must for me to become much more effective with

communication skills because I have to deal with a number of individuals that belongs to
different cultures.
In order to improve my team working skills I have taken into consideration Tuckman’s team
building theory where there are four different stages that I have to consider which will not only
help me but my colleagues also to get clarification of different range of tasks. Forming, storming,
norming and performing are the different phases of this theory which will first help in identifying
the different team members, assigning of different jobs, building understanding of a particular
group and then it will also lead to improve the performance level of my own with the team and
of my colleagues as well. On the other hand, in order to improve clinical skills, I have started
practising based on the instructions given by tutors and lecturers. With the help of improvisation
of these skills, I can say that I might become successful and grab ample number of opportunities
which will help me out in in delivering services to patients and also getting a permanent job
within health and social care department.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
Initially, when I started this module I must say that I have had to read about different
strategies that I could utilise for improving my communication, team building and clinical skills.
At first, I was nervous because I only had the notes which was taken by me, when the lecturer
was delivering the information about how the whole module is required to be conducted. This
nervousness has brought many challenges and situations where I had to take help from my
colleagues in relation to what theories I should considered in order to help myself out through
overcoming the different challenges faced by me. Also, while I was conducting this module I
have analysed to that my research skills also got improved because I was continuously going
through different online websites, books and journals in a constant speed if it is examined from
the past when I was completing the action plan and personal development plan 1.
Research skills specifically helped me in choosing the best theory out of many. Also,
qualitative research is something that stays based on different perspectives along with the
psychological perception of many researchers and respondents. This type of research specifically
fascinated me, because it is really very hard for a researcher to conduct analysis based on the
perceptions taken from the chosen participants and then reach to a conclusion. Including this, I
can also say that quantitative is the investigation which specifically delivers the exact conclusion
based on mathematical formulas, statistics and so on. But, what's more important and difficult is

conducting a qualitative investigation because it is really very hard to consider perspectives and
then perform an analysis on it (Hallewell and et. al., 2020).
The research approach that I can consider is qualitative investigation type and it helps a
researcher in gathering the data based on different perspectives, perceptions and values of society
(Todd, 2020). I am willing to consider this approach and method to conduct an investigation
based on the topic because it will not only improve my knowledge towards the topic but it will
also help me out in understanding the behaviour(s) of others which can differ from time to time
over a particular section or an area. Including this, it can also be said that it will be required by
me to focus on my goal so that I may become able to deliver right range of services to patients
based on their requirements and code of conduct. Qualitative methodology and deductive
approach are the two set of elements that combines with each other and helps and investigator in
pulling out favourable outcomes in specified time frame (Diak and et. al., 2020).
PRINCIPLES AND VALUES CHALLENGED THROUGH
PARTICIPATION ON THIS MODULE
Gibbs' Reflective Cycle was created by Graham Gibbs in 1988 to offer structure to gaining
from encounters (Maguire and Blaylock, 2017). It offers a system for looking at encounters, and
given its cyclic nature loans itself especially well to encounters, permitting you to take in and
plan from things that either worked out positively or turned out poorly. It covers 6 phases that I
will be utilising in order to present the different challenges faced by me while conducting present
module: Description: The primary challenge for me was to effectively take into consideration of
one or two particular theories over the challenges faced by me like I utilised cognitive
and behavioural theories for improving communication skills (BEYGI and
GHOLIPOUR, 2016). Feelings and thoughts about the experience: Initially, I was filled with fear of not
completing the module in the given time frame because I was unable to select the theories
in order to overcome the challenges like team building, communication and clinical skills
(Grit, 2019). Evaluation of the experiences: When I started conducting the module, I can say that fear
is something that may break a person. But, I can also say that until and unless a person
tries for something it is may be possible that he or she might not reach to the end point

which is success. This is something that I felt when I was going through the problem
which is to identify a particular theory (Diak and et. al., 2020). Analysis to make sense of the situation: Considering my own experience, I can say that
due to less knowledge of different range of theories that are available a particular topic, a
person like me can easily get confuse where it is must to get some guidance from both
colleague and lecturers. Conclusion: I have learnt that, until and unless an individual starts working on something
it is to that he or she might not reach to the conclusion in the given time frame or it is also
maybe possible that the results might not be much favourable at the end of the session
(Rimmer, 2018).
Action plan: Without visiting any sort of time, I will be directly taking help from my
guides, lecturers and colleagues because it is not possible for a person to perform every
single activity by his or her own.
CONCLUSION
I have improved my I team building skill as it was pretty much easy for me to take
suggestions from others without interrupting them and also so this situation and hands to my
communication skills, it may impact positively on overall performance level of my own in near
future while conducting practice in health and social care department.
