INTRODUCTION
Personal development is a process to improve the quality of life by improving the skills
and knowledge to fulfil the potentials (Cappa López, 2018). With the help of this development
process person abilities and its potential get raise, assist employability. This report will evaluate
the concept of personal and professional development. Short-term, medium term and long-term
goal values and their examples. Further, in this the personal development plan values are
discussed and PDP plan is also being developed to know the activities and resource required to
develop the skills.
MAIN BODY
Personal development
The process of the personal development is basically long term or it can be lifelong process
which is helpful in accessing the life goals and upgrade the skill to reach the best potential. This
development is basically assisted to take the action which are required to develop the personality.
With the help of this personal development plan the life of an individual get fulfilled as it assist
to develop the purpose (Cruz And et. al., 2018). This plan ultimately assist to get success and
satisfaction in the life with the skills that are necessary to every point. There are different skills
which are required in the personal development plan that are communication skill, interpersonal
skills, adaptability skill, leadership skill and many more which are being essential while
developing the personality.
The personal development are being more important either person become success or not
it is required for the improvement purpose. This process takes times yet it provides different
advantages when it is used.
Provide clarity of vision: This help in defining the personal vision and the goal of the life get

teach. This development is done to fulfil the need of students the instructor uses to improve their
skills and knowledge.
The main aim of the professional development is to provide the opportunities to the tutor
and instructor to learn in their specific subjects. This development process is totally about the
enhancement of knowledge and building the knowledge related to the particular field. The
professional learning also have number of benefits:
Expands your knowledge: The professional development assist to gain maximum knowledge of
the field where the individual want to develop (Toscano and Berbey-Álvarez, 2020). The
individual who is taking this process in use then their knowledge and skills are going to be
developed wider and in detail.
Boost the confidence and credibility: when the individual invest its affords in the particular
subject then their confidence level automatically enhanced by this. The tutor credibility is also
improved in this when they are developing professionally.
Short term goal
The goals which are achievable in short time frame and which are required by an
individual in near future are short term goals. This is being more important because this is

time up-to 6 months. Medium term goal are the goal with interconnect the short-term goal with
the long-term goals (Wasserman and Migdal, 2019). The goal which are helping in the long term
goal and also provide the path to the final destination are the medium term goal. The goal
supports the long term goal and also collectively become the end goal which is being one of the
main goal to achieve. This is comparatively longer and helpful to make a significant change or
progress. Three medium term goals are:
To work as in multinational company in finance department.
To take internship in the market leading company.
To build experience in the field of finance and learn more skills.
Long term goal: This is the goals which are going to be the end goal in the future, this goal need
long time and plans. These goals need number of years together to achieve it effectively. This
goal are refers to accomplishments which are required a significant time and efforts. When an
individual need to achieve its long term goal then they have to make the short and medium term
goals which are mandatory to reach to long term goals. The long term goal are being more

et. al., 2018). This is the motivation element for the individual to constantly keep working
towards the final goal and this goal help to shape the career and lives of an individual when it
accomplished.
Long-term goal may take the years to complete them so the short term goal being
important here which reminds you of persistent. Basically there are a different way to reach till
success yet the individual have to clearly define the way with the help of short-term goals. The
long term goals are having advantages that are:
Empowerment: The process of long term goal are helpful in retain the complete memory of
everything which is experienced by the individual and also help to take further decision-making.
The self- determination of an individual which is help in to perform the task that will contribute
in the achievement of long term goal (Greco and Kraimer, 2020).
Clarity: When there is a clear goal in front of individual then that individual is being more
motivated and feel more transparency for the future. The person make it all the efforts in
achieving that goal and there is only one mind set.

To become the leader in the finance field.
To become the head of financial department in the multinational company.
To organize the classes regarding the finance department.

the awareness, reflection, setting the goal, values for personal development within the context of
use of the career. This tool is effectively used to organize and target the personal and
professional development (Yigletu and et. al., 2021). The personal development plan assist to
achieve the short-term as well as long -term career objectives. The professional development
plan is helpful to organize the idea of learning activities to specific competencies. To develop a
personal development plan there are some key aspects which are essential in that are:
Strength of an individual that will going to contribute in career goals.
Key area of performance and the skills which are need to improve.

term have different aim and objectives all are needed to achieve the final goals and all need to be
