INTRODUCTION
Personal development is very much essential in the lives of every individual because
through this person learns various skills and knowledge which eventually helps them in
understanding the situations which are present around them in a proper manner and the people as
well. These skills and capabilities helps an individual in handling the issues which are present
inside the company and achieving efficiency as well. These skills can be like negotiation skills,
time management, research and team working as well. This report will demonstrate the
understanding of these skills and knowledge which is required to work effectively with others. It
is very essential document which are required to be made for managing students record that can
be used in future and it will assist in reaching with developing experience. Journal can be used
for making self-agreement that are based on different factors which increasing effective concept
of learning in proper manner (Baron-Cohen, Tager-Flusbergand Lombardo, 2013). For me, it is
necessary for developing appropriate skills and knowledge for managing all required work of the
company. A person confidence and independent thinking will describe their skills and abilities.
In this project, I will discuss about person’s skills and abilities which are required for understand
others emotions in proper way.

What is the core skill to develop?
Negotiation is the core skill which has been presented and it is most essential ability which are
important at the workplace. As per the view of Baumeister, 2013 a negotiation skill is a set of
power where an individual interact, convince, influences other persons for doing specific work
or task. Such skill can be learnt by a person and also effectively implemented within an
organisation. A company conduct training program to develop negotiation skills so that each
employee learn to bargain for their self and organisation interest.
Why is this core skill important? Why did I select this skill to reflect on?
This skill is required to be present among each employees of an organisation due to various
reasons. According to the Bird and Viding, 2014 it is very important skill for analysing

problems and also assist in developing strong relationship with other person. This is required
for me is to develop my negotiation skills for increasing the bargaining power or ability in
better manner. In an organisation, if a person understand that how to negotiate with their other
staff member so they does not create any type of loss to the company. As a negotiator , I will
be capable for change the behaviour or attitude of customers towards goods or services which
has been offer by company.
Reflect on your current competent regarding this skill. How did you access your competence?
I think that I have a good negotiation skill because I make such deals in which I ensure
maximum profit for me without harming much the interest of other party. At the time of
negotiation, I make sure that I am having some minute that are necessary for develop my deals
according to me. Sometime, if I have not accurate information and data then I will not capable
for prove my point toward other person. In this, I took the assistance of Jung personality Test
(described in Toolkit) to check that weather I have good negotiation skills or not. Peer feedback
is that I am not fully able to negotiate or deal with other person in proper manner and on the
other side, tutor said that I have an ability to make deal with others. At last, I analyse that all
feedbacks of peer and tutor help me in determining my weakness about this skill and using this
test, I can analyse other behaviour and attitude towards this skills.
Can you identify contradiction from your above analysis skill?
In this section, if I will compare my outcomes with employees given suggestions then I will say
that all my peers are not agree with me and their review about this test. They think it does not
prove anything as negotiation skills which are necessary for testing at the time of cracking some
deal. Also if I am able to acquire such kind of deal without make other party at loss through this
it can be proved that I am good negotiator.
How might this skill help me in the future?
Negotiation skill is very beneficial and useful for me as with this I will gain skills to negotiate
for what is best for me. Through this the possibility of losing specific deal will also reduce. I
will be good and most desirable person for the job of marketing and sales organisation.
According to Cozolino, 2014 I will have good negotiation ability in deal with data and
information regarding specific matters which are comply with deal and no one make me fool in
this matter.

managing time at workplace and it is very useful for an individual day to day operation and
activities in particular given time period. It is that procedure where an individual require to

This is very important to have such type of good skill within an individual so that they are
capable to complete their all required work or task in given time period. As per the view of
Gonzales and Hancock, 2011 when an employee know how to manage their time schedule to
finish all work and also complete priority task which are necessary firstly and remaining can be
performed later on.

Well, I think that I have effective and good time management skills as I can easily complete all
work in given time period. With the help of this skill, I can achieve my all targets and
objectives without any risks of failure. I was capable to acquire time management skills through
my experience at work place which is useful for complete all work in determined time and
earlier I was not able to do that but I learned it. In order to check same I am using MCI test.
Through this I analyse that I am managing my all time in better manner or not. As per the view
of my peer, they said that my time management skill is average so I need to make improvement
in my skills and on the other tutor feedback is that I only plan time management schedule but
fails to properly implement same at workplace (Deci and Ryan, 2010). Lastly, I think that all
the feedback of peer and tutor are not fully accurate because I am manage my time according to
given work and also use MCI test for better analyse my skill.

If I will compare the view or reviews which I got from my peer and as per the results which I
receive from conducting test where all employees reviews are contradicting with each others.
According to the test, I have ability to manage my time but my friends or colleagues said that I
need to make more improvement in this because at sometime I was got delay for completed my

If I will understand that how to manage my whole time so this is good for me because through
which I can easily finish my all work in given period of time and will not not face any type of
issue while performing such task (Derlaga and Berg, 2013). With the help of time management
skills, I am able to implement all working activities in better manner for achieving desired goals
and targets of the company.

attitude where a person require to find out the useful data and information in better manner.

This skill will assist in providing depth knowledge and information about any topic. It will help
in solving major issues and problems which occurs while achieving desired goals and
objectives in better manner. I choose this skill because it will assist in increasing capabilities of
thinking, developing and improving searching skills about specific theme for an organisation.

I have good researching skills which help me in determining and identifying all necessary facts
or figures for making a particular report. According to the Fisher and et. al., 2011 this skill
required to be present in an individual for finding relevant data and information in better

with set goals and targets of an organisation. It can be stated that in the team all members have
some common goals and they are dong work for achieve this that will developing strong
relationship among them and make effective in getting their targets in proper manner.

The team working skill is required to be present in an individual because this will assist in
performing their work in better manner and also finish it within given time frame. According to

achieving this target. As per the peer view, I am good in my team working skills but I need to
improve this all time and on the other hand, tutor said that I am average in my skill so I require
to work on this. Lastly I am analysed that I am capable for perform work in large team and also
get desired goal in better manner.

functions in better manner. Along with this, I have to make sure that I am capable to interact with
my colleagues or peer members in proper way and make strong relationship with them. I need to
develop my team working skills through which I can easily gather all employees for doing work
together in order to achieve desired goals and targets. Another is reasrching and information
finding skill which help in analysing relevant data and facts which are beneficial for an
organisation.

Weakness – As per the Serrat, 2017 it is very important for each an individual to
understand weak points so they can easily overcome with their issues. I think that I need to
improve my people management skills where I face different complexities while communicating
