INTRODUCTION
Personal development portfolio is basically also abbreviated or stated as PDP (Liedtka.
Hold. and Eldridge., 2021). These are specifically created or generated for the purpose of
examining or analysing the personal development of an individual, which makes it clear and
precise for the individual as well as the companies that would like to hire him or other
professional peers that would want to know about the goals and the professional objectives of the
individual. This report presents a personal development portfolio of an individual.
MAIN BODY
Personal development portfolio
Personal development portfolio specifically refers to supported and structured processes
that are undertaken by the individuals for the purpose of reflecting upon their performance,
learning, achievement, goals, and career and educational development (Rimmer., 2018).
Personal skills as well as professional skills are very necessary or important for the
overall development of an individual. Some of these skills are in built within an individual and
some of them are learnt through experiences and situations in the course of life. All of these
skills have equivalent importance in the enhancement of educational as well as career
background of an individual.
Each and every person has some skills that they have in particular, that they master at and
that they require or nee to learn. It is very necessary for individuals to focus on all of these skills,
so they know which area requires most of their attention and which area is the one in which they
already are good in.
There are the skills that I either master at or I lack, but there are some other qualities of
mine which I neither master at nor lack. Such as, the ability to learn new skills, I am very eager
and also willing to learn new and required skills but, I keep on postponing it. Therefore, I am
preparing a personal development plan so that I can understand which of the skills are present
and which require to learned. Further, are the short term and long term goals and the skills
required to achieve them.

I personally have a bunch of skills that I have developed during the course of my life and
through my personal and professional experiences. Some of the skills that I have are built within
me since childhood. I have grown up in a family and an environment that has taught me to laugh
and make people laugh. Through that I know that happy people make others happy too, and
people who are hurt usually tend to hurt others. I always try to build a positive environment and
aura around me so the people who are not feeling good also tend to do so.
I have worked in four different sectors in my lifespan. And all of these diverse sectors
have taught me different things as I dealt with different situations. Also, as I have worked with a
lot of people with different mindsets, income levels and ethnicities and also cultures, I have
learnt to understand personalities of people now. Through this my skills of communication have
enhanced over the years more and more (van der Vleuten. van den Eertwegh. and Giroldi.,
2019). Through good communication I have helped in solving many rational problems and also
made decisions in times when I had to take the responsibility of decision-making but, it is
difficult for me to work under pressurized circumstances. When it is the case of workload, or the
company requires more of my time or there is stress and pressure of work on my mind, it gets
difficult for me to work under such situations.
Also, through working with many people I have learnt the skill of working with a team. It
was definitely tough to learn such a skill when you live in this society, where everyone wants to
do things according to them, it is tough to work collaboratively and also understand what others
need and work towards achievement of common goals. Through working with different groups
of people and mainly in the Bulgarian army I have learnt that one needs to understand and
collaborate with others, in order to make things less chaotic and with all these skills I also learnt
hard-working.
Still, I need to learn a bunch of things and skills that I will require for achieving my short
term as well as long term goals and objectives (Mumford. And et.al., 2017). Such as, if I aim at
starting my own firm, only communication skills, hard-working and working with a team are not
the only aspects that are necessary to be considered. One of the major skill tat I require learning
is leadership and motivation skills, after recruiting the employees and the team that I will want
to work with and will fit in perfectly in the kind of firm I want to start, I will have to motivate
them, and become a leader that they can rely on and trust, that understands them and supports in
achievement of their personal goals too.

about technology as I have worked in different sectors but I still want to learn and develop in this
area. As through good academics and educational background I know certain things but the
advanced things are not taught if you do not opt for the course in particular. Hence, I have
planned on taking courses regarding new and developed information technologies and digital
marketing as well. Which will help in the achievement of my long term objective as well.
Also, to become a good leader I will need to learn to work in difficult and stressful
situations. Because it is not always cherries in the business sector, things are mostly tough for
start-ups or new comers in the sector (Redmond. and Dolan., 2016). And as I can not handle to
take decisions and work in pressurizing environments, it can be harmful for my career
development and professional growth which is not something that anyone would want to do.
I have worked in certain industries but only the bartending job has helped me in
becoming more creative and interactive with the customers. I was new to doing jobs at the time
but through the process I became good at it. These things will help me in attracting customers
and clients and also, raise capital. Good communication will take me ways and help me to
achieve my personal and professional goals and maintain my professional relationships in a
better and more precise manner.
Also, I know around three languages thoroughly as I have worked in an international
hotel, these are English, Russian and Bulgarian, this will help me to attract clients from different
nations all across the world and mainly the countries of which I know the language of. This
makes the professional growth easier and also native language is the sweetest language for a
person or individual, hence this will help in building market recognition and goodwill and also
will enhance my career.
