Introduction:
This report outlines skills gained in the module in each week along with
SWOT analysis and personal development plan.
Week 1
In the first week of the module the overall content of the module was
introduced which included topics about academic success and personal
learning. This week of the module helped me understand the aim of this
module and determine the role of this module and the topics which will be
covered during the module. Providing an overview of the module is
beneficial as it helps students prepare for future weeks of the module so that
they are able to gain best educational experience.

Week 3
In the third week of the module I learned about SWOT analysis tool and the
way in which it can be successfully applied on businesses and personal
situation. After this week I am now able to understand the significance of
conducting personal SWOT analysis to understand individual capabilities and
aspects which need to be enhanced in order to achieve academic as well as
future professional goals (Astle, Leberman and Watson, 2018). SWOT analysis
involves identifying personal strengths and weaknesses along with threats and
opportunities present in context of personal objectives. I will utilize application
of SWOT analysis to determine my weaknesses and take actions for
improvement.

The fourth week of the module introduced me to the concept of academic

will improve my academic writing by ensuring that every statement is backed

Week 5
I was able to understand the importance of gaining high level writing skills
in order to achieve success during university and also analyse my own
writing so that personal writing skills can be improved. Writing skills
involve spelling and structure, punctuation, grammar, using writing styles,
rewriting and editing ability (Bruni-Bossio, and Delbaere, 2021). I will
improve my writing skills by reviewing and editing my work.

This week of the module involved discussion on the topic of creating an
effective and engaging presentation using PowerPoint tools. I have now
gained complete understanding about how to effectively utilise PowerPoint
The 6th week of this module involved understanding various concepts such
as plagiarism and academic integrity. From this week I have understood that
ensuring that plagiarism does not occur while producing a piece of academic
writing is important because it improves the educational experience and
supports development of original ideas and thoughts. Making efforts to
reduce plagiarism by citing sources correctly is important for maintaining
academic integrity (Chen, and Rybak, 2017). I will utilize the CRAPP test to
improve my skills of reducing plagiarism and producing original pieces of
academic writing.
The 7th week of the module improved my knowledge about foundational
activities related to business and basic knowledge about entrepreneurship.
This week after module increased my business acumen as now I am able to
understand basic activities required for running a business. It is important to
understand the basic elements of running a business in order to venture
towards entrepreneurial endeavours (Dinh and Salas, 2017).

public speaking skills are also important for delivering an effective
presentation to an audience. I will improve my presentation skills by
improving my confidence and public speaking ability.
Week 9
The 9th week of this module focused on goal creation and skills needed too
successfully participate in a job interview. Succeeding in a job interview and
developing skills for performing well in an interview is essential for getting
employability in the current competitive labour market. I will work on
improving my interview skills by improving interpersonal abilities and
developing confidence. I have developed effective abilities to create suitable
goals for future so that I am able to achieve my academic as well as
professional ambitions.
Week 10
The final week of the module focused on employability, After attending this
week of the module I am now able to understand the meaning of
employability as well as the necessary skills required in current time to
improve personal employability. The term employability refers to the
attributes and every days of an individual which improve their preference for
employers and employability skills include looks transferable skills which
support gaining employment. I will work on improving my employability
skills by enhancing time management skills.
