1.1 Identification and reflection on my approach to personal
learning and development
Personal development and reflection is the process of development of
person's owns competencies and skills. The identification and reflection on the self
learning is the effective approach for a person to gain self awareness and thereby
developing the skills and knowledge for the personal sense of identity. Personal
learning is approach for self development by learning or improving the new or
existing skills and develop more knowledge by identifying the weak spots. For my
personal learning, reflection and development I have used the approach of SWOT
analysis by which will be identifying my skills that are strength to my personality
development and the skills that are weak and need huge attention and focus for the
improvement and development. The SWOT analysis is the effective and systematic
approach that will also guide me with some new opportunities for my personal
development. Through application of this self reflection tool I have gained potential to
add new sills and knowledge to my personality for the personal development.
1.2 Identification of the transferable skills I have already developed
by attending this module
Transferable skills are the skill set that individual can pass or utilise in field of
expertise as well. These are most valuable and effective capabilities which a student
or professional must contain to develop other skills and gain experience while
pursuing education, job, training or any other experience. During my module I have
developed some transferable skills that are discussed below:
Team working skills: these are defined as the competencies of a person to become
effectively and collaboratively in a team as a active and supportive team member. At
the time of attending the module I have to learn some academic skills among which
team working is one of the skill which is transferable and most important as
education and professional level. In Today's world it is believed that team work is
better way of working as this involves capabilities and ideas of many potential
people. Therefore I have effectively worked during the module and developed my
team working skills. I am highly capable to work in large or small team and also I am
capable to become team leader as well follower as per the assigned task or
situation. But during this I analysed that team working also include the to have
quality and ability to lead a team that I am still required to work on. As I can work in a
team effectively as per the other instructions but has hesitation in leading others.
Communication skills: the capability of the individual to deliver their ideas and
thoughts in clear manner whether oral or written form of communication. During the
period of attending module I was required to learn effective communication skills as it

is part of academic skills and are highly useful in professional and personal lives. It is
very essential for a person in terms of representing their bio to introduce themselves
clearly in front of others for which effective communication skills are highly important
to convey with clarity. I have also developed written communication skills to write any
other documents in professional life in accurate manner in proper format. Also now
as I have developed my communication skills I capable enough to put my ideas
forward with suitable body language, essential details and appropriate grammer.
1.3 Skills I would like to develop during my academic studies,
personal life and the workplace
Problem solving skills: there was the time in this module when I was required to learn
problem solving skills to resolve some issues. For the personal and professional life this skills
development is essential as this will help me in omitting the milestones in my success and
move forwards in life to attain the success and goals.
Organizational skills: For the job role at any organization, organizational skills are highly
important as in the professional life. There are a large number of tasks and different services
for which organizational skills are highly important for me. As at workplace and in personal
lives I will be having responsibility of maintaining records of the task I have performed.
Therefore, in order to manage all of them effectively and efficiently organization skills are
highly necessary for me.
