INTRODUCTION
When looking for a professional organisation to serve it is necessary for an individual to
focus on their personal skill and traits that will help them to effectively serve a business entity.
The following reflection consists of a journey of choosing organisation and the field which one
wishes to serve based upon its culture and people (Markkanen and et. al., 2020). The reflection is
described through the help of Gibbs's reflective cycle.
REFLECTION
While understanding people and organisation I realised that I would be fit or a job of a
financial analyst at a big organisation providing financial facilities to its consumers. The journey
is explained with the help of Gibb's reflective cycle which consists of 6 different stages as
described further:
Description: Learning about people and organisation was a great understanding that
helped me to effectively set my priorities for the type of organisation I wish to work in and the
organisational culture I would prefer. Working as a financial analyst in a goof financial
institution will help me to develop my qualities further. My analytical skills are good enough that
will allow me to do good in my job. The task culture explained in Handy's model will help me to
effectively continue and develop in my field. I am not an extrovert which makes it difficult for
me to work in marketing or human resource fields.
Feelings: I came to understand about my strengths and weaknesses that was a feeling of
self-realisation. It was an effective way for me to understand various benefits that different
sectors can provide me. Working as an autocratic leader in finance sector is essential that will
allow the leaders to have control over the employees (Caillier, 2020). I felt the need to develop
this kind of leadership style if I wish to successfully work as a financial analyst.
Evaluation:There were a number of evaluation done by me on myself as I went through
the people and organisations theory. It was essential to understand what are the required qualities
I would need in order to work in finance field. It is necessary for me to be a team worker and
understand my role in the team. Also one of my major strength is analytical skills which will
successfully help me as I work in a financial institution. The fluctuations taking place in financial
market are also huge which ensure that I need to be open to changes and enhance my adaptability
