Root Chakra
The Root or Muladhara Chakra is the founding pillar of our strengths and connections with the
outside world. Hence, the Chakra has a specific purpose of survival and motivation by helping
human beings deal with the materialistic nature of the outside world. It gives a reason for
existence, survival, and helps to deal with and enjoy life on earth. Red is the associated color and
physical dysfunctions of this Chakra include poor sleep, fatigue, restlessness, eating disorders,
obesity, overweight, frequent cold, along with psychological issues like possessiveness and
aggression (Snellgrove, 2009). I usually feel tired and restless all the time, and red is not a color
that I would usually choose. I believe that the stimulants of this Chakra are not put to a specific
use such as red clothing and activities like gardening and pottery in my life. In many ways, I
believe that the Root Chakra can be more balanced and developed to help me let go of
materialistic possessions and greed that exist today. I also have problems focusing on tasks due
to lack of time management skills, which makes it difficult for me to deal with work when I am
under pressure (Judith, 2018).
Sacral Chakra
The Sacral Chakra is also known as the Sex Chakra or Svadhisthana Chakra, which deals with
creativity, sexual desires, intimacy, bonds, and friendliness. The Chakra is focused on relieving
our bodies and minds from any restrictions by making us realize our self-worth (Sharamon and
Baginski, 2015). This Chakra is primarily associated with creativity, knowledge, self-worth, and
sensual desires. Emotional problems such as guilt, sexual obsession, shyness, aggression, and
irritation are caused as a result of an imbalance. When it comes to intimate relationships, I am a

shy person and usually find it difficult to channelize my desires and energies. Also, I don’t feel
that I am open enough about my inner creativity and knowledge, which makes it more difficult
for me to bond and connect with others. I am yet to explore my inner sexual desires and identify
my source of inspiration that can help me live a more balanced life. However, I do not suffer
from any physical dysfunctions of this Chakra, which include lower back pain, reproductive
problems, and urinary infections. Also, I am not fond of the color Orange and I do not use and
observe the color much in my routine life. In order to balance the Sacral Chakra, stimulants like
massages and aromatic baths can help, along with orange clothing and using orange-colored
objects in my home or office (Bhetiwal, 2017).
Navel Chakra
The Navel or Manipura Chakra is like an extension of the bonding and connections associated
with Sacral Chakra. This Chakra gets our inner energies and inspirations come alive to define our
personalities. An imbalance of the Navel Chakra causes emotional problems such as hostility,
fear, nervousness, lack of self-confidence and self-esteem, indecisiveness, unable to work in a
group, depression, along with physical dysfunctions like digestive problems and other issues like
blood pressure, diabetes and pancreatic. I do not suffer from any physical or emotional
dysfunctions associated with this Chakra (Maxwell, 2009). Instead, I feel a heightened belonging
and connection to others around me, especially when working in a group. I am very confident
about the way I speak and deal with others around me. I am confident about everything that I do,
primarily because I don’t care or fear about judgments from other people. I am secure in my own
way and know how to bond, connect and work with others without a sense of hostility and
control over people and things. I believe that the function and characteristics of the Navel Chakra

are strong as I love learning, reading books and informative pieces, doing puzzles, which are a
few stimulants of this Chakra. The associated color Yellow can be used as a part of clothing or as
healing foods like cereals and yellow corn. Also, I love the aura and ambiance of lit candles,
which can contribute to the release of energies associated with the Navel Chakra (Maxwell,
2009).
Heart Chakra
The Annahata or Heart Chakra defines our desires and abilities to love. The ability to love in a
pure and unconditional manner by overcoming feelings of jealousy, possessiveness and become
more understanding and empathetic is how a person achieves a balance of the Heart Chakra. In
my case, I have found myself to be a little detached from feeling love or romanticism for some
time now. As already mentioned in the analysis of the Sacral Charka, I fear intimacy and suffer
from confidence when it comes to feeling real connections with people, which blocks the flow of
energies associated with this Chakra (Judith, 2018). Sometimes, I feel hopeless due to the fact
that I cannot make up my mind on things easily, which restricts me from developing harmonious
relationships and intimate connections with others. Physical dysfunctions as a result of an
imbalance can be identified as heart and breathing problems like asthma, high blood pressure,
and immunity problems, with immune system issues being the most prevalent in my case. I have
to develop and channelize the flow of these energies by using green more often, spending quality
time with friends and family, and spend more time outside with nature than staying indoors
(Ross, 2011).

ANALYZING CHAKRAS 5
The Visuddha or Throat Chakra is the medium of communication and expression for people. It is
this Chakra that defines a person’s ability to express, communicate, and speak out about one’s
truth and thoughts without worrying and thinking too much. I do not have problems expressing
myself, at any time. Be it working in a group or communicating with my family and friends, I am
expressive about what I feel and think and do so in the most polite way possible. I like offering
my ideas and opinions when in a conversation and others seem welcoming about the same too. In
this regard, I also listen to others patiently (Daniels, Daniels, & Weltevrede, 2017). I believe that
if I have the right to express my opinions, others have the right too and it is paying respect by
listening as patiently as you speak. Discussing physical dysfunctions that affect thus Chakra, I do
not suffer from sinusitis, migraines and poor vision, but I had suffered from insomnia in the past.
I still experience difficulties while sleeping. Blue is my favorite color and I usually picked and
select objects that are Blue and/or Black in color. Because my birthstone is Sapphire, I also wear
a blue stone always, which is considered to be a root stimulant of the Throat Chakra. I remember
being a shy child, and now I look at myself as just the opposite personality. I am also very fond
of music and arts since I was a child, which could be one of the reasons behind my open and
confident self-expressing abilities (Gherwal, 2008).
Third Eye Chakra
The Ajana or Third Eye Chakra is a reflection of our own thoughts and actions, and this ability
and power to gain insights and develop deeper thinking is why this Chakra is called ‘The Third
Eye’. This Chakra is primarily associated with the inner energies of our mind and body and
contributes to the psychic and clairvoyant abilities of people. On analyzing the Third Eye
Chakra, I find a number of characteristics that can be identified, such as trusting one’s intuition,

letting go of literal perceptions, think beyond the actual reasons, excessive daydreaming,
difficulty concentrating, and fantasizing which makes it difficult for me to focus on tasks (Lim
and Choi, 2017). Additionally, I read a lot of spiritual books due to my increased interest in
spirituality and have started believing in the power of the universe. When it comes to bonding
with people, I don’t judge them but I consider the kind of vibe, energy, and aura that circles the
other person. I also have a desire to let things go easily instead of latching on to them. From my
personal experiences, I strongly believe that time is the most powerful healing factor, and
therefore, very rarely do I latch onto things and negative people or experiences. However, the
problem that I face is getting disconnected with reality owing to my fantasizing and daydreaming
too much. Associated physical dysfunctions are the same that affect the Throat Chakra, such as
sinusitis, migraines, insomnia, and poor vision. While I don’t suffer from any of the associated
dysfunctions, I have suffered from insomnia in the past and still face difficulties sleeping till
date. Sometimes, I get scared of losing completely in touch with reality due to the kind of
delusions and excessive daydreaming I indulge in. I usually tend to choose blue and shades of
blue like indigo and turquoise in my room. Because indigo is the associated color, I believe that
my wearing a Sapphire gemstone radiates the flow of associated energies but purple colored
foods like blueberries, grapes, and currant are my favorite (Tsakiris and Preester, 2018).
Crown Chakra
The Sahasrara or Crown Chakra is when one gains spiritual insight, knowledge, and
enlightenment. As already mentioned in the analysis, I believe in spirituality more than religion.
I have found interest in spirituality at least three years ago, and my knowledge and insights on
spirituality have become more distinct, defined, and important as compared to my religious

views and thoughts. Whenever I meet someone, I try to focus on the vibe and aura of the person
instead of focusing on his behavior, knowledge or attitude (Goldman, Goldman, & Goldman,

boredom to people. I am also extremely sensitive to light and sound, I find myself suffering from
severe headaches due to the sound of firecrackers. I was never this sensitive to sound before, but
I have grown up to become intolerant to places with loud noises and a huge crowd. I am also into
yoga and meditation and have an interest in activities concerned with mind-body connections
(Howie, 2017).
