professional experience has shaped you, and how you will maximize the Bauer
MBA to reach your future goals.
My basic motivating factors are career development and recognition. Career
development includes self-development and skills enhancement. Self-development
needs are necessary for individuals to become a successful professional. Self-
development includes learning of the theoretical knowledge and understanding the
frameworks so that I will be able to apply them in real life. Skills development will
enhance my core abilities to become a successful manager. Recognition is
something that I want for my self-actualization. This motivates me as recognition
makes me feel that I have done the job well. Recognition motivates me to continue
doing hard work to reach my goals. Other than these two I am also motivated by
learning new things. Working as a manager or associate will present me with many
opportunities where I would be able to learn new things. The experience that I have
gathered till now will be more enriched by my job experience. I am a more physical
and visual learner as I like to learn on the job or by seeing things. Other motivations
that I have are team work and autonomy. Team work is extremely necessary part of
being a manager. Working in a team gives me satisfaction as I am able to learn new
skills and establish relationships that enrich me. Autonomy on the other hand gives
me the opportunity to complete tasks according to the way I want.
My personal and professional experience has made me what I am today.
Since my high school I have done group projects and assignments. In my university
degree as well we did similar things. These have developed my team work ability
and communication skills. Through my past experience I have learnt patience and
team management. For managers, it is necessary that they have certain leadership

qualities like team management and are able to motivate people. My professional
experience in Royal Bank of Canada has given me that experience. Besides these I
have also learnt how to respond to a conflict situations. My professional experience
has also instilled in me the necessity of being fair and just to people that I am
working with. While I have always treated people with equality and dignity, my
professional experience has taught me how to implement that learning in my
professional life. My learning experience has also trained me with verbal and written
skills that are helpful for my future.
My MBA course from University of Houston or Bauer College of Business
gives me professional knowledge and training that will be necessary for my future
work as a manager. I intend to use my course in Bauer College to the full extent.
Course will give me theoretical knowledge about the manager’s roles, their
responsibility and what organizations expect from the candidates. This knowledge
will help me in developing these skills so that my employability increases. The
course will also enable me to gather some internship experience which will give me
real world experience. The internship will also be helpful as I will be able to apply my
theoretical knowledge to professional use. The projects and assignments that I will
do will enrich my understanding of the necessities of being a manager.
