Strong areas of Health and Wellness
The two strong areas of my health and wellness are emotional and intellectual. This
allows me to conduct self-care, development of my inner strength, relaxation and stress
management. I am actively participating in various cultural, literary and community activities
that helped in the development of my intellectual wellness over time. Thus, I can state that I
am confident that I had given ample attention to these areas of health and wellness.
a. The actions that I have taken to strengthen my emotional wellness was to manage
stress by working out that helped me in alleviating my daily stress level. I practice T’ai chi,
which is an internal Chinese martial art. I am enrolled in a program in the community centre
that is conducted once per week with a group of people. The actions that I used for supporting
my intellectual wellness are I read a lot and I have books of varied genre that allow me to
learn more and regularly solve the Sudoku and puzzle in the newspaper that help me in
sharpening my learning skills.
b. As I will get older, my life will change and I will get less time to conduct the actions
that support my emotional and intellectual health and wellbeing. However, I need to adopt a
strategy that will ensure that the areas of my life are still thriving at difficult times. The
strategy for emotional health will be to resting, maintaining a proper diet and exercising at
home. This will offer the ability to combat adversity or being resilience. Another strategy that
will ensure my intellectual health by having healthy debates with a family member, family or
other. This will help in gaining knowledge from another person’s perspective and thus,
enhanced knowledge occur on a continuous basis.

active and at times, I do feel lonely that may have an impact on my mental health. Thus, I feel
that it is time that I strengthen my relationship with my friend and family; thus, establishing
nurturing, healthy and supportive relations around me. It is always found that the most
neglected health and wellness area is spiritual as people think it comes from within; however,
a healthy spiritual practice has various benefits in one’s life and needs to be nurtured from
time-to-time. Therefore, I have decided to focus on these two areas to be enhanced at an
immediate basis.
b. The action that I would take for gaining satisfaction in term of social wellbeing is to
regularly communicate with my parents as I live in a different country for my education. Due
to stress, I had ignored their calls and stopped replying to them has an impact on the social
wellbeing of my parents and me. Therefore, it is important to make efforts from my efforts to
talk to them on a daily basis that will help in reducing my stress level to a certain extent. The
action that I would take to improve my spiritual health is to volunteer in a church or other

a. The chronic illness or current disease that I am at the highest risk based on family
health history is cancer and based on current behavior and action is obesity, as I love to have
junk food. Since I live without my parent in a different country, most of the time, I do not
have the time to cook and I order food or have canned food. The inactive active lifestyle may
also contribute to being obese as I am slightly overweight.
b. Upon reviewing my lifestyle and quality of life, it is inevitable that lifestyle change is
critical that would help in reducing the risk of encounter the health issue at present or in the
