Introduction
The discussion reflects on the concept of ‘Leadership’. It is a process through leaders
guide, motivate, inspire thee followers for the achievement of objective (Murphy, 2018).
Emphasizing on the discussion structure, the initial section involves information based on
personal leadership style based on MLQ assessment result. The next section includes
personal communication style. The succeeding part focuses on personal strengths,
opportunities of leadership and communication. The following section comprises of key
strategies to gain effectiveness in outcome. The key purpose of the discussion is to reflect on
personal leadership style.
Leadership style
Every individual possess a leadership style. The leadership style is based on
individual’s traits and characteristics (Murphy, 2018). According to MLQ assessment result,
Transformational leadership aligns with my personal leadership. This is because I attained a
score of three based on Transformational leadership. It is assessed that I have fine rating for
building trust, acting with integrity, encouraging others, encouraging innovative thinking and
developing people. This leadership style involves inspiring, balance risk taking, creativity,
motivating and encouraging employees to innovate. It focuses in developing positive change
among the followers. A transformational leader attains high adaptability and self-
management. He is highly inspiring and possess adequate knolled to undertake difficult
decision (Murphy, 2018).
Similar to Transformational Leadership Style, I consider myself as an inspiring
individual. Through this trait, I have motivated my peer members in times of difficulty. I
have adequate capability to adapt to changing environment. I know the significance of self-
management. Therefore, I have given high attention towards self-management. My persistent
hardwork has benefitted me in improving self-management skills. I am a moderate risk taker.
This is because I believe that risk allows coming up with something and unique I also favour
collaborations. Therefore, I actively take part in team activities.
Communication style
Communication plays a great role in developing interpersonal relationships. Every
person has unique communication style. There are multiple communication styles. Key

communication styles include Passive, Aggressive, Passive Aggressive and Assertive (Giles,
2016). Based on personal knowledge, I have recognized that I am follower of ‘Assertive
communication style’. It involves open communication by expressing ides, feelings and
maintaining eye contact. From the initial phase, I believe in expressing effectively as it
benefits in reducing stress. Like this communication style, I also gave attention to the beliefs
of others. This has benefitted me in knowing others perspective as well. This communication
style has assisted me in developing favourable interpersonal relation. My communication
style also aligns with the Transformation leader.
Leadership
Strengths and growth opportunities
Transformational leadership style benefits in gaining high engagement of an
individual. It allows managing change effectively in an organization. This leadership style
inspires and motivates the followers to respond to change in a positive manner. Through this,
they allow subordinates to reach their full potential. They are highly enthusiastic and develop
same among the followers. In the workplace, enthusiastic followers deliver better work
performance. The leader high encouragement contributes to continuous learning and
development of followers. Therefore, transformational leadership provides learning
opportunities. Their high involvement with followers contributes to positive interpersonal
relation. It benefits in creating a healthy work environment in an organization. Additionally,
it helps the organization in raising ethical work environment (Gaille, 2018). Therefore,
possessing transformational leadership offers key strengths to organization.
Transformational leadership gave rise to motivated employees and positive work
environment in an organization. Motivated employees will deliver better performance.
Therefore, it will result in financial growth of organization. It will also offer adequate growth
opportunities in my career. In the field of public service, I want to pursue my career in Public
school educator (Dowd, 2018). My leadership characteristic will allow me in inspiring
students to become a better citizen. Additionally, it will assist me in reaching greater heights
of success in my career.

Communication
Strengths and growth opportunities
Effective communication itself offers multiple advantages. It benefits in gaining the
attention of respondent. It assists in gaining self-confidence and raising self-esteem. Self-
confidence will help in creation of attractive personality. It is acknowledged that ‘Assertive
communication ‘contributes to self enhancement and being expressive. As mentioned
previously, it is highly effective in minimizing personal stress and attaining better mental
health. It aid in developing healthy relation with other individuals. It helps in gaining higher
engagement of listeners (Kaul, 2014).
Effective communication is highly beneficial in future growth. In chosen career field,
it allows engaging better with the students. It helps in gaining understanding about
subordinates. Better communication skills will helps in providing better feedback. This will
generate leadership opportunities in the workplace (Lewis, 2019). Therefore, communication
style has adequate strengths and offers high career opportunities for future.
Outcome
Communication and interpersonal effectiveness: Effective communication is
highly beneficial to gain respondent attention, higher engagement and to express views and
ideas clearly (Singh, 2015). To improve my communication skills, I will try to be direct,
specific and clear with my points. I will also lay attention towards nonverbal communication.
To develop my interpersonal effectiveness (ability to interact with others), I will develop a
positive outlook and lay high control over my emotions.
Ethical leadership: It is highly beneficial in developing integrity and enhancing
trustworthiness and encouraging subordinates for achievement of goals (Murphy, 2018). To
develop this area, I have to adopt open communication and full transparency with the peer
members. Additionally, adhering to the code of conduct and eradicating any form of biasness
will benefit in improving in this area.
Effective diversity management: Diversity brings creativity and assists in
improving the organizational performance (Murphy, 2018). To upgrade in this area, I have to
constantly connect to employees differing by their culture. Additionally, I have to lay high
focus on creative collaboration through formation of teams.

Effective change management: Change management involves identification and
implementation of required change. For effectiveness in this area, I will lay emphasis on
improving personal communication as it will help in communicating change in an effective
manner. I will deliver adequate attention on feedback based on change management.
Conclusion
The report summarized on the concept of Leadership. It is acknowledged that I am
follower of Transformational leadership style. It is highly effective as it involves inspiring,
motivating and assisting the followers. I align with the characteristics of Transformational
leadership. It is analysed that assertive communication style relates with personal
communication style. It assists in clear expression of vies and ideas. There are multiple
strengths and opportunities of leadership and communication style. It ill assists me in gaining
better career opportunities in future. It is recognized that developing the use of effective
strategies ill help in improving in areas of communication, ethical leadership, diversity
management, and change management. Thus, it concludes that personal leadership style ill
yield positive results.
