INTRODUCTION
Personal leadership and management refers to the management and leadership of own or
self. It can be develop by anyone who wants to lead from the inside out (Bush, Bell and
Middlewood, 2019).
Overview of the chosen organization
The hotel Phoenicia is a five star hotel which was established in year 1930. It is in the
Floriana, Malta. It has around 137 rooms. It is considered to be one of the most popular hotel in
the Malta.
This report will analysis the impact of various organizational aspects on the leadership &
management, evaluation of the leadership and management skills required to operate the
business and do assessment of the personal leadership and management skills. It will highlight
the required areas for the development, assessment of the opportunities to development of skills
and construct the personal development plan. Report will tell about the management of the
personal development of the skills, review & evaluate the effectiveness of the personal
development plan and analysis the further development & update of the personal development
plan.

Impact of organizational objectives, values and culture on the leadership and management role
Every company has its own mission, vision, goals, objectives, core values and cultures
which must be achieved by the organization for the creation of customers values, enhancement
of brand image & effectiveness and generation of profitability & revenue. In order to achieve all
the above mentioned objectives, Hotel Phoenicia has its own mission, vision, goals, objectives,
core values and organizational culture. These all are look by the manager and leaders of the
company. Thus, it is necessary to know about the impact of organizational objectives, values and
culture on the leadership and management role in the Hotel Phoenicia.
IMPACT OF ORGANIZATIONAL OBJECTIVES ON THE LEADERSHIP AND
MANAGEMENT ROLE IN HOTEL PHOENICIA
Organizational objectives affects the role of leadership and management in the
organization. On the basis of the objectives, Leaders and managers of the organization adopts
their leadership and management style. For example – if Hotel's objectives are hard to achieve
and managers & leaders' attitude towards employees are be like – they don't care about

employees' benefits or employees' motivation or employees' involvement etc. In that case, for the
achievement of hard objectives of the company, Managers and leaders will adopt bureaucratic
leadership and management style. On the flip side, if managers and leaders of the organizations
are worried and concerned about their employees and their works, in that case, managers and
leaders will adopt participative style. Like this, objectives affect the leadership and management
style which in turn affects their role (What is Personal Leadership?, 2016).

Organizational core values affects the role of leadership and management in the
organization. On the basis of core values, company determine its norms and standards which
must be followed by the leaders and managers of the organization. For example – If Hotel
Phoenicia has integrity as their core value. Then manager and leader of the company has to focus
on the team building strategies. Their focus will be on the creation of communication, co-
ordination and integration of employees, staffs, managers and leaders. That's how core value of
the company affect the leadership and management.
IMPACT OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE ON THE LEADERSHIP AND
MANAGEMENT ROLE IN HOTEL PHOENICIA
Organizational culture affects the role of leadership and management in the organization.
On the basis of the organizational culture, managers and leaders do behave in the organization.
For example – if the organizational culture of the Hotel Phoenicia is negative, that means
employees are not happy, motivated and co-operative. There can be conflicts between any of the
two parties of the organization. All of these will affect the leaders and managers and they won't
be able to focus on their employees, tasks and objectives. This will affect their roles in the
organization. On the contrast, if there is a good and positive culture in the organization, it will
motivate the employees to do work properly which will make managers and leaders satisfied,

The main task for any managers and leaders of the organization are to prepare the plan,
implement the plan, motivate the employees, give direct or guidance to the employees and

order to reduce the negative impact, company has to bring change in their organization. For that
managers and leaders has to do successfully implement the change and for that they required

Analytical Skill – There are various external and internal aspects of the organization which must
be review and analysis by the managers and leaders of the organization. Thus, for the accurate
analysis of anything, they must have analytical skill so that they can analysis the things and get
to know about the impact & take actions accordingly immediately.

Multitasking Skill – Managers and leaders of the organization don't have to do managerial and
leadership work. They have to look upon the employees, cultures, objectives and environment as
well. In order to do so many tasks at one time, they both required multitasking skill.
Time Management Skill - For the completion of the tasks on time or before time so that
objectives can be achieve on time, Leaders and managers of the company are required to have
time management skill. This skill will help them to manage their work properly and on time.
Motivational Skill – For managers and leaders, there is one responsibility and that is to achieve

leaders can use various case studies, analysis those case studies and accordingly take decisions.

Managers and leaders of the Hotel Phoenicia are given proper training, coaching and
opportunities to adopt various kinds of improvement strategies which is required to develop and
improve the required areas under the Personal development plan. It is done to show them that
where the organization is expected to stand and where they are standing. It helps them to
identified the performance gap in their work field. For the organization, it is also a concern
regarding their personal development program so that they can provide their managers and
leaders a training and coaching programs which is required to become effectively only when the
objectives behind the personal development plan and training & development programs are
achieved (Maurer, Hartnell and Lippstreu, 2017). For the finding of the achievement of those
objectives, it is required for the hotel Phoenicia to review the personal development plan.
Review of personal development plan depends upon the performance of the employees after
providing training, coaching and opportunities for the improvement in required areas within the
given time period written in personal development plan. Performance of the managers and
leaders will be reviewed on the basis of the performance of them which is done before the
construction of personal development plan. If there is any deviation in the performance of
managers and leaders, they are given to training again. If there is no deviation in their
