1NURSING PHILOSOPHY
Nursing philosophy is an attitude and personal perspective, which is included in an
individual’s belief. It is related to the field of nursing and is involved in the practice of nursing
and its education. How a person thinks about the field of nursing and their reasons behind the
notion that leads to the related actions in the profession is the philosophy of nursing. The
philosophy of nursing differs from people to people because for some nursing is way of treating
illnesses through the support of physiology, psychology and science. These are mostly seen in
emergency room nurses, neonatal care units, nurse educators and other areas of intense care. For
others nursing is an act of spirituality that is more than just medicines, psychology and
physiology, which is seen in nurses who prioritizes holistic care, emotions, religious beliefs and
culture above medications (Bruce, Rietze & Lim, 2014).
Nursing will be effective when an expert will have a set mission and related objectives
for any task. The nursing goals needed in a nurse is patient centered care, developing effective
interpersonal skills, increasing technological skills and building a holistic care approach
including setting goals and targets for a fixed time span that will give them positive patient
outcome. Another aspect is getting involved in nursing education and studying new literature
reviews that will enhance their area of knowledge (Benton & Shaffer, 2016).
Therefore, an individual’s philosophy of nursing is beneficial for their practice because it
molds and frames there area of practice. A person with no philosophy will have low commitment
towards their profession and will lack quality care.

RE: The ongoing health issue in my community is affecting everyone at large, which should be
controlled by the government.
Dear Senator (Last name):
My name is (name inserted), I am a resident of Hot Springs Village in Arkansas, which is a
community consisting of a large population. I am writing this letter to inform you of certain
issues faced by the residents of this community.
The community is affected by the increasing rate of substance abuse amongst the youth of this
area and it is a negative impact on the young people who are into drugs. It is an alarming health
situation in my community because the growing generation is involved in drugs, which is not
positive for the future as a healthy community. The use of cannabis is highly prevalent after
alcohol and tobacco due to the fact that it is easily available and accessible by the teens as well
as adults. It is a request for you to look at this issue and develop legislations about the production
and supply of this drug because it is worsening the condition of the health status of the
community. According to the recent newspaper articles, Marijuana is common amongst the 8th,
10th and 12th graders of various schools in my community. Therefore, the schools and several
