INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development aims at helping individuals to manage their own
growth and learnings throughout their career. It is very important for all the individuals to
continuously engage themselves in learning so that the skills and knowledge is retained and up to
date (Dikilitaş and Yaylı, 2018). This also helps in ensuring that the work done by any individual
is legal, safe and effective. This report contains a plan for career development focused on the
potential skills and the qualifications needed. It also contains options for the placement and how
to find them. This report contains a CV Relating to the career ambitions along with a cover letter
for applying to the job posts for specific position. This report will also reflect on current
achievements, identification of improvements and how to develop skills to improvements.
MAIN BODY
PART 1
Career Development Plan
Any plan made for the development of career by an individual is known as a career
development plan. The said plan is made by following the “5-Step Career Development Model”
The steps are as follows:

Step 1: Assessment
In this step an individual identifies his own skills, interest, traits, etc. this is the way in
which a self analysis is done through which an individual gets to know of their skills and the
traits which they lack and needs improvements (Ab Rashid, 2018).
Step 2: Exploration
In this step an individual is focused on the exploration and research of the available
career possibilities. In this step necessary information related to the job and placements are
collected of various fields that interest an individual. In this, an individual also explore for more
opportunities that are available to them.
Step 3: Preparation
This is the step in which an individual prepares a proper resume in which skills,
qualifications, etc. of the individuals are mentioned. After the resume is prepared, a proper cover
letter is drafted specifically for the position of the jobs to be applied.
Step 4: Implementation
This is the step in which an individual develop and also implement the job search. In this
step all the skills are sharpened and the preparation for the interview begins.
Step 5: Decision making
This is the last stage in which the decision is made by an individual by referring to their
goals and career plans. In this the jobs are analysed and then accordingly a well informed
decision is taken.
Action plan worksheet
This is a planned document created by an individual which describes a career action plan.
This plan is very helpful as it helps in setting the goals and actions to be taken by them in
achievement of such career goals (McGill, Heikkila and Lazarowicz, 2020).
Skills assessment worksheet
This is the type of worksheet that helps an individual to assess their own skills by either
rating various types of skills on scale of any number provided or it can be done by taking tests
for skills assessment. This is beneficial for the individual as this helps in determining the skills
which an individual have and what skills are needed to be improved.

Current Achievements
While I was graduating in fashion designing, I scored highest in both practical and theory
tests. For this my university appreciated me with a gold medal. I also got selected for an
internship with one of the most talented fashion designer with whom I learnt all skills required to
be good fashion designer.
While I was working as an assistant fashion designer, I got an opportunity to freelance
and make designs for a fashion show. From this event, I grabbed many opportunities that came to
my way.
Improvements
There are many areas of improvements which were noticed by me while I was working,
interning and studying. I am a person who is self dependent and like to do things on my own. I
am a person who do not like other people interfering in my work. The skill which I wish to
improve is of Team work. I want to adopt this skill so that I can work with the team who are
distinguish from each other which will further help me with enhancement of my knowledge.
After doing my self analysis I determined that I am a person who thinks emotionally
instead of taking strict decisions. I want to improve this skill of mine as this would sometimes
land me in trouble. I want to adopt this skill so that I take decisions in future effectively rather
than taking decisions emotionally.
Team work skills can be improved by me by working with team and giving chance to
people with their abilities. This way I will be able to sustain working with team where everyone
will be giving their opinions and the decision making in collective.
To think emotionally is not a problem, but while making decisions one is suppose to take
decisions keeping in mind that it do not harm work or is not against law. Sentiments in work
often leads to making decisions not correct for the company (Bond and Blevins, 2020). Therefore
this skill can be developed only with time by developing intellectual skills.

To move forward for the development of career there are few effective tips which can be
followed. They are :

looking for. Meanwhile a person can also develop and work upon their skills till there job
