Introduction
In this assessment I will explain about my personal and professional development
career plan. Where I will describe my point of view for my career past and future career
vision and my personal point of view. I have to set my plan to get my aim which is
depend on how, where and when that things and I would like to describe my personal
and professional development in this assignment.
I have also mentioned about how my decisions impact on my past and further career to
achieve my aim and goal. How should I have changed my activities, need to improve
areas, and the requirements are for able to set my career goal. Its all about how I can

My Personal and Professional Development vision
I am Friendly and self-motivated person. I have vision to make successful life in Nepal
with my family. I have always focused on my life to achieved my goal., through my plan
and vision.
In the future I would like to work for my self as a business man in the hospitality
industry. Considering my work to be very important in my life and I have to work very
hard to achieved my dream. Doing work might be predictable, I loved be a part of a
team work because it creates bond between each other and make new friends. i am
friendly nature person always like to interact of social subject beside that I have some
strange and weakness part of social, academic, and work activities some activities point
out my good things like I want to work as team with creativity but I can’t teach or
training other people and the manage the people. I have ability to see the whole picture
but difficult remembers by auditory.
I am a good visual learner because its create a perfect situation for me to make
decision. Its impact on my academic sector and try to understand easily. Its like a
practical thing which is I understand easily. If I will evaluate my academic skills I have
improve immediately few areas like in my assignment I have to improve referencing
and academic sources, grammar and punctuation, and class note because its very
important part of my assignment so I should try to solve this area immediately and
during the end of term I should increase my planning of assignment workloads and

My Personal Development plan before six month ago
six months ago, in feb,2019 I was working in Kathmandu, as a cross trainee in front
office department of four-star hotel. I just get promotion from bell attendant to cross
trainee but it’s still on trial period so I am not sure to get that GSA (Guest service agent)
position because I am not graduate in hospitality. So that I try to achieved the position of
guest service agent but I am not satisfied with my qualification. I thought that if I get
this post but still in the future, I can’t move up from this post to higher post so that I
decide to continue my further study in bachelor hospitality at Nepal in Mar,2019 but due
to my certain education gap I can’t find the collage in Nepal.
I am looking for opportunity to study in abroad and hospitality collage so I had visit lots
of consultancy but didn’t find perfect destination for hospitality subject. one day i here
about Regents international collage study at Thailand in hospitality BTEC program on
my Facebook post. I have good idea about BTEC program and it’s a perfect platform to
study in foreign country. Thailand is a most popular tourist destination of the world and
defiantly good at hospitality as well. So I make the decision to come at Thailand to study
through the consultancy because its easy way to get support for admission and visa
process. I get the visa and excited for come to Thailand. I came Thailand in April 2019
intake So basically, my plan is knowing the rules and regulation of Thailand and obesely
collage as well. i have to focused on my study BTEC in hospitality program because its
different then Nepal education system. Our regent international collage tutors are guide
me step by step they are very helpful and assist to improve my knowledge in BTEC
program how to start what should need to do in assignment and everything about
course in first of some week.
After that I learn hospitality sector like personal and professional development, food and
beverage service and, hospitality industry so I start to theory class and f&b practical
class that’s of food and beverage service sequence, food and drinks preparing, table
setting, event management training so that’s the most important thing to growth my
knowledge for my career development and plus point for internship. I did my 3
assignment well but as per my tutors i have to improve still few areas like referencing
and academic sources and grammar, research more about examples and references
immediately, so I have to improve this area for get the excellent result in the future day.
beside that I have some strange think like submit assignment on time used good

examples and writing logically and concisely. I am glad to hear that I am a good learner
from my tutor its very pleasure moment for and I should try to do my best in my further
study since today sep,2019
My Further Development Activities for the six months
I am currently studying BTEC level 3, 30 credit in hospitality. It’s a mid-part of academic
session in Sep,2019. I am concentrating on my study and planning assignment
workloads and research about references and example in the right way. In Try to do and
get the at least merit or distinction. Now my study almost end of this terms of theorical
class. Basically, BTEC hospitality course is a basis of six-month theorical and six-month
practical (internship) basis course so that I am looking for internship in star hotel at front
desk department. Because I have some experience in front office department and I am
planning to build my career in front desk but I love to internship at any department of
hotel because it’s a part of hospitality. In the last month or in the Oct,2019 probably, my
collage assists to get me internship in star hotel. It’s a platform for me so during the
internship I get the opportunity to learn more thing to analyze and apply my theorical
knowledge in the real field.
Internship is a ladder of my career progression so it’s a important things for me to
achieved my goal in the near future. Its help me to understand about hospitality industry
operation, increase my self-confidence, make me more flexible in the work field. The
main purpose of my internship is a gain experience, standard procedure of operation in
hospitality department. During the internship my target will be understand the hospitality
department, apply my theorical knowledge in the real field try to participate in different
department and overall get the experience of hospitality industry and as well for my
further study and work plan. In the last end of our academic I should prepare my
internship reports and submit my collage in the Mar,2020. So academic knowledge and
practical experience boost me up on step of get my career goal.
Overall, I will try to do best my academic part through the assignment and the practical
part through the internship that’s my further six months plan of Oct,2019 to Apr,2020.

My further career progression plans for next to (3-5 years)
I am currently studying BTEC level 3, 30 credits in hospitality. BTEC hospitality is
theorical and practical basis program so that I am always motivate from this type of
academic system. Hospitality industry is a fastest growing industry in the world so its
always attract me in this field. This is a mid-session of my academic class so I am
focused on my assignment and practical things. Its help me to build my academic
qualification through the theorical session and our class practical session help me to
understand more knowledge about hospitality operation.
Currently I am working on my assignment and after few days later in the month of
Oct,2019 probably my collage assists to get the internship in star hotel. I learn many
things in theorical so that if I get the opportunity to internship, I can apply my theorical
things in the real work field to understand in better way and expand my work experience
about hospitality operational procedures. I would like to develop my career in front office
department so that my main target is get the internship in front office department.
During the internship I should learn about front office SOP standard operation
procedures, guest check in and check out, guest reservation, allocate the guest room,
make the key, know about how to communicate with guest, guest call handling, cash
handling, computer system of hotel as well so its help to gain experience in for further
work as well. However, I should learn all department work procedures to help get the
job and good knowledge about the hospitality and make me able to work in this field. So
its not only important for me as a academic point of view its also important for work
experience.
In the month of Mar,2020. Probably I should submit all academic assignment and
internship report as well. In the year of Apr,2020 I will graduate in BTEC level 3, 30
credit in hospitality it’s a ladder me to jump another academic year of Apr 2020 and
BTEC level 4, in level 4 I have plan to improve my research skill, academic referencing
idea, power point presentation, study hospitality business, learn Thai language it’s a
plus point for me in the internship so I can try to communicate with guest as well and try
to develop my personal career development. My past internship helps to understand
better way in BTEC level 4 and learn more deeply about hospitality management
business and after six month later try to do internship in the 5-star hotel because I have
internship experience already in the past year so try to internship in the 5-star hotel in
front office department. So that I can understand the luxury guest service operation and
services, hotel layout service and facilities.
In this academic year is very important for me both side academic assignment and
work experience through the internship. My main target might be getting the at least
merit in each subject. And graduate in hospitality BTEC level 4 120 credit in the year of
Apr,2021 After graduate level 4, l would like to join BTEC level 5 in hospitality at
Bangkok. In this year May,2021 I should work on my academic skills likes writing

logically and concisely, management skills, like planning about assignment and

information. So its not only help my academic part its help me too in my career
development. Beside that in the the internship time period my target might be get the
work permit in the front office. Because internship and work quite similar but it’s different
if I am able to get work permit then I can get more salary which is financially support for
my study and further abroad study. I get more responsibility, work authority more than
as a trainee. If I did internship then it’s like a trainee but if I get the work permit in front
office its mean I am a part of employee so it’s better option for me and its help to growth
my career and develop fast, so I can carrying both side academic part and working part
in the same time .
I can apply my academic theorical knowledge in my internship and I can use my
internship or working knowledge apply in my assignment, I have to set my target merit
or distinction in BTEC level 5 in hospitality.
When I graduate from Thailand in 2022 at Regents’ international collage I would like to
credit transfer in Switzerland. Because Switzerland is a most popular tourist destination
of the world. And the hospitality education system is very professional and systematic. I
should join in 2023, my BTEC level 6 in hospitality business at Switzerland. it might be
help me to know about european culture, food and beverage, business and market
about tour and travel scope. Possibility of expand the business over there in future. So
my career plan on level 6 is study hospitality business and work in star hotel as a guest
service agent supervisor in front office department. I can understand the europian guest
service, culture my strategy is study plus and add more experience in my profile.
After finish my BTEC level 6 in hospitality at Switzerland in 2024. I have plan back to
Nepal in 2024 to further I want to work as a front desk assistant manager at Nepal in
five-star hotel. At this moment I have British hospitality degree, internship work
experience, in the hospitality industry from Thailand and Switzerland so I meet that
criteria and able to understand asian and european business market of hospitality so it’s
a growth my personal and professional development and in the future.
That’s my personal and professional development plan of 2019 to 2024. During the
period I have learn academic and progress as a internship trainee to employee during
this time I learn about front office SOP standard operation procedure in different
category of hotel like in star hotel to five star hotel. Different type of service and
facilities. I have to learn in the beginning time at front office as a trainee in internship like
guest communication, guest service, allocate the room as per reservation, guest
reservation, rules and regulation, policy of the hotel, make the room key, handling the
guest problem, call handling, cash handling, and guest request so this kind of activities
try to learn and gain experience for able to guest service for the future if I am apply to
work this kind of guest service I should understand how to do and service procedure. So
this kind of activities I need to learn because I would like to develop my career in

hospitality in front desk department if I am able to do this I can get the opportunity to
work in front office and I can progress my career in this field.
Conclusion
In this assessment I had explain my personal and professional assessment and
development career plan which is related with my past six-month plan and further six-
month career development route and I need to improve some area in future. I have
evaluating of my academic skills and need to improve some few area in immediately,
before the end of this terms and before the end of academic year and my further 3 to 5
years plan for my career progression plan and time of frame. I had explain about what is
my weakness point from my tutor feedback, and what kind of activities should I do for
my career plan. However through this assessment I have explain my personal and
professional career development plan to set my aim and through the improvement and
set the plan for my high expectation goal in hospitality.
