INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development (PPD) aims to develop and manage growth and
learning of a person throughout there career. It has become essential part of not only individual
but also of an organisation. In this complex competitive world individual have to suffer from
many problems in his personal as well as professional life. PPD is a process through which
individual to meet those challenges and work to achieve his desired goals (Jasper, 2011). PPD
help person to analyse there skills and prepare a plan through a person or a group can have
overall development (Kirstein and et. al., 2012). Personal professional development accomplish
the development need of person not only at personal level but also through professional level
through its constant learning procedure.
The current report gives detail study of the importance of self managed learning, it will
include different activity through which an individual or organisation can enhance there current
skills to meet there objectives and to have better stand in this competitive world.
TASK 1
1.1 Approaches of self manage learning
The main principle on which personal and professional development work is self
assessment process and self learning (McNiff, 2010.). Individual with certain aspect in there
personality trait help them to gain advantages in achieving there goals and life long learning.
Self managed is way through which a person can manage their own learning. self learning in
organisation are done through setting up different programmes or activity which can be
accommodate according the structure of organisation and can ensure that the staff development
are done within certain direction (Merriam, Caffarella and Baumgartner, 2012). Approaches
include different activities like learning from mistakes, trainings, experience, self assessment etc.
VAK give three major learning style:
Visual: Learning through observing diagrams, pictures, mind map etc.
Auditory: focuses on listening.
Kinaesthetic: based on practical or physical knowledge like touching, holding etc.

Intelligence for learning style
Verbal, logical, visual, interpersonal are different strategies which are included in
learning strategies. This style help in corporative learning, building self esteem, and nature study
(Moon, 2013). This style is really helpful for professional development.
These learning style has good reputation learner learn through videos chart diagram
presentation, person learn from its surrounding. Auditory help in enhancing the speaking and
learning skill of individual (Nadler and Nadler, 2012). This style help them to get better
understanding of subject.
1.2 Lifelong learning in personal and professional development
Lifelong learning : the ongoing, voluntary and self motivated pursuit of knowledge for
either personal or professional reasons is known as lifelong learning (Nuzhat and et. al., 2011). It
enhances the self sustainability, competitiveness and employability.

The ways of lifelong learning:
Motivation: self motivation is the major key of life long learning. One should be positive
about his/ her learning and the ability to be encouraged and motivated. If there is any point
of struggle it means one is required to learn more.
Acquire information: effective learning requires proper information through reading,
listening, observing, practising, experimenting and experience.
Search: the learning can be successful and faster when one search the personal meaning
of the information which is been acquired.
Life long learning can be encouraged through ones own assessment an individual can use
SWOT analysis to recognise his strength weakness and threat to improve himself on personal as
well as professional level (Phan, 2011). Self reflective and continuing professional development
can also help in enhancing personal skills.
Self learning is also a way to achieve life long learning, it encourages individual to
accept new traits in there personality. It includes learning new skill such as new language,
talents etc. In professional level I found reflective method most useful it helps me to reflect on
my skills and make me work in order to improve it. To improve my skills I started undertaking
different task and responsibility in office. This not only help me to gain experience but sharing
knowledge and idea also help me in increasing my knowledge ad understanding.
1.3 Benefits of self managed learning to individual and organisation
Self managed is a style which put more emphasis on the overall development of own. Its
not time consuming and very cost effective method (Reeves, 2012). In this style group or
individual come together to achieve single objective.
Benefits for Individual
Built self esteem and initiative quality: SML help in building the self esteem of an individual
and also increase there confidence improving there performance, having more confidence and
self esteem help individual to take initiatives in works.
Personality development: Self managed learning mainly focuses on overall development of an
individual helping to adapt changes and different trait to improve there personality (Sadoghi, von
Keudell, and Vavken, 2012).
Interpersonal skill: This learning help individual to increase there communication skills and
encourage them to improve there listening ability.

changes which develop positive culture in business entity (Schmeck, 2013).
4.1 Need of individual training to solve work based problems
Hilton hotel which is the largest brand of hotel in world is known for it leisure facilities
and best customer services but in current time its suffering from lack of coordination and
communication. This affect the overall performance of organisation in order to achieving there
goal. The problem has escalated that it has started affecting there customer leading to there
discomfort. This miscommunication increase misunderstanding among employee creating bad
working envt. Many times' information are lost between this that worker doesn't understand
there task and what they need to do in order to fulfil it.
The management of Hilton need to resolve this problems so that the firm can have better
coordination and can provide best services to there client (Schunk and Zimmerman, 2011).
Higher executive of company can implement different learning methods. This style help
employee to improve there communication skills by increasing there knowledge. Management
should also try to identify the core problem which lead to all this miscommunication and analyse
it to try to find the best solution to it. They can conduct different training programme which can
help them to enhance there customer skills as well as there communication skill so they can have
better coordination and relationship. Using different learning approaches can also help
organisation.
4.2 Implemented learning style
From the above scenario its clear the miscommunication and lack of coordination has
big impact on the overall performance and efficiency of cited firm. Implementation of various
learning style can be the most beneficial for firm in overall process of improvement.
Visual: uses picture, images etc through this it becomes easy for manger to make employee
understand there task. It also increases there learning ability (Siemens, 2014.)

Aural: In this employees communicate through aurally and coordinate with the use of sound or
music. This also make envt. pleasant ad friendly.
Verbal: Oral or written communication help in better understanding. Speech and writing assist in
well learning.
For attaining business growth its necessary for organisation to have better communication, but
here the major problem that stand before entity is communication itself. Markov planning can be
very effective in order to get attain firm objectives:
Strategic level: To attain results effectively this level focuses on developing different strategies.
Top management prepare policies and communicate it to different parts.
Tactical level: It works as link b/w strategic and operational level employees. it's this level
which implement the policies and procedure.
Operational level: To avoid the chance of violation of message within the process require this
level to be extra cautious with the communication and message delivery. Email video

From above mention strategies the best suited for me setting priorities it helps me to
manage my work with which i always have difficulties. It helps me to prepare a checklist to
make sure that every work is done and within the time period.

Every individual in professional world should be competent enough that it can meet with
organisational goals. It requires specific skills which can assist there firm I also have some skills

leading my team, i will also able to make people understand about different task and
work allotted to them. This skill will also enhance my leadership quality making me
