INTRODUCTION
Personal and Professional development helps in developing your self for your role to totally
apprehend the task you do and how you could enhance. It entails improving the essential
capabilities to perform your position as successfully as possible (Gaus, N.2017). Thus, personal
and professional management helps in enhancing their knowledge and development in future
career.
Further, the report will frame the reflective essay that consists of each description and
analysis and facilitates students and individuals to elucidate their thoughts, understand essential
components, become aware of domains in which they need more help and define strategies for
fixing troubles. It also facilitates students to modify their personal gaining knowledge of
experience. However, Reflective essay further will be explained through Gibbs model which
motivates people or students to think consistently regarding the studies that they had at some
stage in a specific scenario, occasion or interest (Husebø, O'Regan, and Nestel. 2015).
Description
Using the Gibbs model, I will focus on establishing the reports in stages and this often makes
students to consider an experience, activity or event in extra element, making them aware about
their own actions and higher capable of regulate and exchange their behaviour. Further, I will
highlight the personal feelings and skills needed in construction industry with the help of Swot
analysis.
Identification and Evaluation
The Gibbs Reflective Cycle begins at Description and then moves to feelings, assessment,
analysis, conclusion and ends at movement plan.
Description:This stage of Gibbs include the information regarding the situation or events
that are going to occur without making any conclusion on such information. Thus, according to
me construction company is completely based on physical tasks which require stamina to
complete those projects and I have the skill to manage those tasks with flexibility and enhance
the development of industry by working with strong endurance (Smith.and Roberts.2015).
Feelings: This segment is about the emotions that the event requires, as well as what a
person’s thoughts were all through the occasion, activity or state of affairs described in stage
first. The intention is not to speak about the sensation in detail or touch upon it at once. Thus, I
am extremely confident and optimistic regarding the construction industry as I have attended

certain seminar based on required skill in construction industry and truly feels that I have those
strengths and stamina for managing the work of constructions and as well handling the labour
work within that industry.
Evaluation:This stage Subjectively assess the state of affairs like What went well? What
did no longer? What were the negatives and the positives aspects of the scenario? How did
people and others make contributions to it (Pianpeng, and Koraneekij.2016). Thus, according to
me construction industry require certain qualities will I will frame through SWOT analysis:

Analysis: This stage is regarding what people have got found out from the situation,

Carter.2016). Thus, from the above Swot analysis I have learned that I need to develop more
qualities and skills like risk management, cost controlling, contract management etc.
Further, I have experienced that to develop excellent communication skills and also
enhance the negotiation skills which helps the industry to win over negative circumstances.
Conclusion: At this stage people take a step back and observe from a distance and ask
what else they may have executed in this situation. The facts collected in advance could be very
valuable in this step and may inspire them to come to an awesome and beneficial conclusion.
Thus, according to me the initial stage of Gibbs within construction industry expects the person
should have proper stamina and management skills to enhance the growth of construction
industry. Further, after evaluation I have experienced that construction industry require excellent
leadership skills and management tactics that can increase the market share of construction
industry.
Action Plan: This stage offers with the plan of a way to correctly handle and enhance the
situation subsequent time. Any quality, or habit that may equip you with coping with the state of
affairs if it happens once more? Is there something greater to be discovered for a better outcome?
Work out the areas that need work and thrive to improve in them. Thus, in this stage I will
highlight the changes which are required in personal qualifications and skills for operating within
the industry like I have to develop the skill of personal organisation where I can manage the
working of industry along with my own personal life.
Further, I have to develop team management skills where I'll be able to bring together
every member in a team which could accomplish the goals of industry. On the flip side, I need to

develop the qualities of expanding the construction industry through the international world by
operation on social media platform as well and making the services available to people all over
the world like redesigning houses, contract houses, building huge multi apartments etc (Gaus.
2017).
CONCLUSION
This reflection essay briefly summarizes about the personal and professional development which
have helped me to enhance my experience and knowledge regarding the construction industry.
Further, the report have framed about the Gibbs model with the help of which I have experienced
about my personal feelings in regard of construction industry. Moreover, the project have also
commented on the evaluation done on the basis of Swot analysis which highlights my strength
and weaknesses in context of construction industry like I posses good management skills which

lack of communication skills that my decline industry's customer base. Eventually, it highlights
