Introduction
This task will analyse the skills and attributes needed by the HR professionals. It will state
my personal SWOT analysis and will also present a professional development plan. A
reflective statement on my SWOT analysis will also be done.
Task 1
Skills and attributes analysis required by HR professionals
Human resources are one of the important pillars of an organisation. HR team of an
organisation is responsible to ensure that right candidates are hired for the company’s
operations(Bratton and Gold, 2017). As HR serves a very important position in a company, it
is important that the HR team has the required skills to hire employees from entry level to the
managers. Here are some of the important skills and attributes required by HR professionals:
The ability to communicate: In HR management, communications are at the core of it. An
HR team could not be successful without being able to communicate effectively with the
employees(Parmar, 2014). It is important that the HR manager has the ability to easily
communicate with the business employees, its management team and with all other
individuals involved in the business. The HR communication skills not only need to be good
in verbal and nor-verbal communication but also the ability to communicate across any
platform to ensure that the information is received and perfectly understood.
Good Judgement: Human resources must have the ability to make good judgment on the
ability of the candidates(Parmar, 2014). They need to ensure that right people are placed at
the right positions in the company to assist in the business development. Another area where
the stated skill is required is between disputes, issues and difficult situations. Disputes and
conflicts could arise anytime in the business, so HR manager must have the ability to solve
the conflict.
Sensible and Honest ethics: for every HR professionals, ethics are very important for good
management. An HR manager should posses a strong sense of ethics to deal with the private
and personal information in order to ensure that the company’s needs are met. This skill of
the HR extends in both the direction of the management and the employees(Hailey et al.,

2005). They need to ensure that the company follows laws and regulations efficiently and
every employees of the company is treated equally by the company’s management.
Good negotiation skills: It is evident that HR professionals have to act between the
employees and the management. They must possess strong negotiation skills for ensuring that
the negotiations and disputes at the company are handed fairly and both the parties’ gets
satisfied with the decision(Hailey et al., 2005). They have to effectively negotiate and have to
ensure the situations are provided with mutual benefit. The negotiation ability of HR
professional also requires strong communication skills.
Multitasking abilities: HR managers have to deals with various issues and situation on daily
basis(Bratton and Gold, 2017). Thus, they must possess good multitasking abilities for the
success of the position in long term. HR professionals have a very busy work schedule and
require strong multitasking abilities.

Reflective Statement
After analysis of my strengths and weakness, I have learned that some of my sills are still in
initial stage and requires continuous improvement. With improvement in my skills, I would
be able to justify my duties and responsibilities towards the role of HR. My theoretical
knowledge about the HR duties and responsibilities would also help me in my professional
skills and during the course of my work.
Conclusion
This study has evaluated my personal SWOT analysis. I identified that I have to improve my
communication skills and also have to consider my multitasking abilities. It is important to
reflect and analyse personal strengths and also to consider in which area I have to develop. I
also have to recognise my opportunities and also on the problems I might face in future.
