Concept of personal and professional development
A PDP is process in which an individual engages in process of learning and developing
skills in order to attain his or her desired goals and objectives. The plan is developed for a
specific time period and consists of short and long term goals. In that there are strategies also
included that how goals will be achieved (Maguire, and Blaylock, 2017).
Discuss value of short term goals and 3 examples
They are those goals which allows in focusing on one specific goal at time. It helps in
keeping motivated and increasing productivity. Through that, medium and long term goals can
be easily attained. The time period of goals are 6- 12 months. The 3 goals are

These goals help in maintaining progress in while achieving short term goals. With that a
person remain motivated to achieve long term goals. It plays vital role in individual life as the

goals, medium terms goals are developed. The time period of these goals are 1-2 years. 3

It is a plan that is developed to set goals and accomplish it. Basically, main purpose is to
focus on personal development and self improvement. Its value is that it provides a blueprint of
how to build career and meet goals (Bintani, 2020). Thus, an individual work as per plan to

A source is something from where content is taken. It is previous study or research done
by author, scholar, etc. related to particular topic. So, it is necessary to select relevant and
authentic source. However, there are some element which affect use of source such as author,
reliability, etc. This is described as
Author – It highly affect use of source as having wrong author on it will state that source is not
authentic. This is because there are some fake authors included within source.

Purpose- This affect as source purpose must be same and matches with content for which it is
being used. If purpose is different of source than it can not be used.
Reliability- The source must be reliable so that it can be used. There must be arguments
presented, discussed, etc. through which its reliability is determined. So, if source is not reliable
then it can not be used.
Relevance – It means content that is written in source. Thus, source must be relevant and
connected with purpose. However, if content is not related then using source will be affected.
