INTRODUCTION
Personal and Professional development is a framework in which a person sets goals,
strategies and targets for his development and engage in the desired learning process to achieve
those goals. If a person wants to develop and improve in person and enhance his professional
skills and knowledge, they have to continue learning to maintain high respect in society. The
main motive of this document is to enhance my knowledge on multiple sectors. The basis of this
report is employability and study skills by developing knowledge in different areas like
communication, team and time management etc. It also includes Gibbs reflective model to make
it easier to analyze and examine the feelings during this module (Sangster, 2017).
MAIN BODY
Reflection Journal is the place displaying all the day-to-day activities whether it is based
upon good or bad experience and displays learnings of the person during this phase. In this
module I have been assigned with a task of analyzing different leadership styles and skills
focusing on Jeff Bezos style of enabling Amazon to achieve its Profitability and Sustainability in
marketplace in long run. While doing this I was involved in various tasks, which helped me in
enhancing my communications skills, knowledge, research skills, leadership skills etc. There
were multiple issues faced by me during completion of this task. The main objective of this
assignment was to enhance and develop myself personally and professionally from multiple
aspects that will ultimately help in having a successful whole life. This will also help me in
improving my social standard and respect in the society. In addition to this, I will also evaluate
and analyze myself based upon Gibb’s Reflective Model theory and identify the required
development.
Communication skills-verbal and written
Communication skill refers to skill of transferring the required message or information
efficiently and effectively from sender to receiver in the simpler, understandable manner
avoiding any confusion. Communication skill is one of the prominent skills that have to be
improved for being successful in both professional and personal life. During the task of
analyzing Jeff Bezo’s leadership style I got to be communicating with larger number of audience
and which will ultimately help me in enhancing my oral and Verbal communication skills and in

parallel to that as I am also presenting the same analysis in documents my written
communication skill also get improved. Because of this task, I would be clear in communicating
my thoughts, understandings, ideas to everyone in the audience clearly and effectively in future
(Coffelt, Baker and Corey, 2016).
Research skills
Research is initial and crucial part of every target project. It is skill of identifying,
locating, extracting, deriving and categorizing the data in the required form. Only after my
research document is prepared analysis can by started on this. During this module since I was
supposed to study different leadership styles and for that I have researched various leadership
styles and skills theories, case studies, examples and individuals and got to know some useful
unknown facts. This has helped me in improving my research skills and the approach of
investigating the desired topic. It is going to be a wonderful and learning experience helping me
improving my employability (Molina-Azorin, 2016).
The use of ICTs
In order to storing, collecting, retrieving the entire skills, information and communication
technology is having prominent role as with collaboration of these aspects overall objectives can
be attained. Various computer programs are included in this such as spreadsheet, PowerPoint,
internet search engine and web databases. During the module program I was able to enhance my
ICT skills due to which computer programs was nicely handled by me. This helped me to
enhance my knowledge regarding computer by which my business skills was improved.
Team work
This is described as quality of work with a team so as to achieve overall objective in
considerable manner. Effective communication and active listening are the two major parts of
this aspect as with the help of these factors team can be managed without facing any
considerable problem. Within this module program I took participation in team activities which
helped me to execute my tasks with team cooperation and collaboration so as to convey my
tasks. With the help of team work I enhanced my communication and listening skills which is
known to be the most effective business skill (Salmon, Stanton and Jenkins, 2017).

Time and self-management
This is referred as the skill in which high productivity and output is rendered by
managing time at all levels in effective manner. This is helpful in memory strengthening,
establishing effective communication and management of time in profitable manner. During this
module with the help of my teachers and seniors they helped me to manage my task within given
time frame and made me stress free all the times. With assistance of those I gained knowledge
regarding time management skills and this is going to help in in future and forthcoming projects
as well as my career (Arguedas, Daradoumis and Xhafa, 2016).
Problem solving skills
This skill is associated with critical thinking and ways to solve problems which may
occur during projects and modules. During this module program Jeff Bezos inspired me
throughout and helped me to solve any raised problem. I have learnt form him that during the
phase of problem he used to be quite and calm and used to solve problems with his creative
ideas. He was the person who does not believe in taking stress so this made him to get success
over amazon. This assignment proven to be very advantageous for me as I have learnt problem
solving techniques by keeping mind at calm position and using creative ideas which could help
me in future projects and my career as well (Proctor, 2018).
Gibbs Reflective cycle
It is one of the model which has been derived by Graham Gibbs in the year 1988 which
even includes six different steps. Main help which can be obtained by any of the person in it is
that it allows to identify about the work experience that person has achieved. In simple words, it
is among one of the model which can easily allow me to evaluate my feeling towards my work.
Description – It is that respective stage where person tries to express that what is
happened within the whole model. Considering this point, I can easily say that it is one of those
experience where I got to learn about the leadership style which is being used by Jeff Bezos. In
the same time, it was seen that I got the opportunity to enhance my number of skills which is
helpful for future and I faced some of the challenging situation and got to know that how
problems are needed to be solved.

Feeling- Working within the project had a great experience because it was one of those
project where I got the opportunity to improve my overall performance. Even I have developed
my communication skill in front of audience which is one of the positive side for me.
Evaluation- This part reflects about positive and negative side about the project. Talking
about the positive side, I have enhanced my number of skills related to team management, self-
management and many more (Körkkö, Kyrö-Ämmälä and Turunen, 2016). On the other side,
there were some of the situation where I had lost my confidence just because of the large number
of audience.
Analyze – After completion of the task I can easily say that the support which was
provided my senior team member was really helpful for me to work on this respective project.
On the other side they also guided me that how any of the problem is required to be solved which
was one of the positive side within the project.
Conclusion – From the discussion, it can be concluded that it was one of the task which
has helped me to understand the situation that how any of the task is required to be completed. In
addition, it also guided that why it is necessary to maintain relation with senior.
Action plan – It is that respective stage, which says that how I can contribute towards my
future work and how can do similar form of work in more effective manner so that future goals
can be accomplished without facing any of the issues.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it can be concluded that personal and professional development
this is essential for an individual to live their life in prestigious manner and with high respect in
society. In this module various activities were organized and I took participation in the same
such as communication, time management, self-management, research skills etc. These skills
were helped me to enhance my knowledge which is advantageous for me during employability.
These skills are helpful in maintaining coordination and collaboration in team so as to stimulate
goal achievement intensity
