INTRODUCTION
Personal development plan is said to be a crucial process, which helps an individual to
improve the weaknesses through creating an effective action plan, that focuses on values,
awareness, goal-setting, reflection and planning as well (Zapotoczna, 2019). Basically, personal
development focuses on a a range of context and these are: relationship, education, career and for
self improvement. Present report will be focusing on concept of Personal Development Plan
(PDP) and the role of personal development planning. Away with this, Personal Development
Plan is also going to be developed and lastly, how ‘Author, Purpose, Reliability and Relevance’
affects utilisation of a sources and evaluation of eight sources used in the report plan will be
done in this particular report.
TASK 1
Define the concept of personal and professional development.
Personal and professional development can be considered as a concept where an
individual develop objectives to effectively overcome weaknesses at personal and professional
level. This ongoing process help individuals or organisations to meet the desired objectives and
goals. Also, it can be said that a personal and professional development improves an individual's
strength and weaknesses as it leads success in much effective and in efficient manner
(Shibankova and et. al., 2019).
Describe and discuss the value of short term goals identifying at least 3 personal examples.
Value of short term goals can be understood with a good example of an individual where
the person is looking forward to bring immediate changes in his/her personality like
improvement within work-life balance and so on (Drude, Maheu and Hilty, 2019). In context to
personal and professional development plan short terms goals, would help a person in hitting
targets which are to attain a long term goal. 3 examples of short term goals are presented
underneath:
 To improve performance numbers within 10 days while working on a particular project in
an organisation.
 To improve networking and communication skills in 15 days.
 To enhance critical thinking skill by 2% in 20 days.

Medium term goals carries different range of values in a person's professional and
personal life (Brauer, 2019). Basically, professional development of an individual or organisation
focuses on different purposes like successful attainment a particular skill like communication or
any other. Basically, these skills specifically helps an individual to continuously learn about
different range of changes like dynamic environment of an organisation and so on (Choy and
Chua, 2019). In present context, a range of medium term goals for skill development are clearly
defined below:
 To expand problem solving skill by 20% through studying and/or on-the-job training
sessions given by company in 2 months.
 To boost the networking abilities by 15% in 3 months through considering attending
networking events and focus on building a genuine human connection with the people an
meet.
 To build the work experience by 10% in this field by 4 months.
Describe and discuss the value of long term goals identifying at least 3 personal examples.
Long term goals concerning one particular skill or more are said to be the crucial
development aspects of personal and professional development, which may reflect to increase
the value of an individuals in context with future (Tarasova, 2020). On the other hand, long term
goals are developed considering the futuristic approach and a range of personal long term goals
for an employee are presented underneath:
 To get promoted within a company in next 1 year.
 To practice mindfulness by 30% in 1.5 year to enhance the management skills
 To improve the problem solving skills by 20% in next 2 years.

source.
Sources, which are specifically utilized for alluding the work and decisions made by
utilizing others work and thoughts should be important and dependable just as needs to be from
master proficient so as to give clear reactions for the reason it is being utilized (Bozkuş and
Bayrak, 2019). In less difficult words, the references and sources utilized are important to be
