INTRODUCTION
Personal development plan is said to be a crucial process, which helps an individual to
improve the weaknesses through creating an effective action plan, that focuses on values,
awareness, goal-setting, reflection and planning as well (Zapotoczna, 2019). Basically, personal
development focuses on a a range of context and these are: relationship, education, career and for
self improvement. Present report will be focusing on concept of Personal Development Plan
(PDP) and the role of personal development planning. Away with this, Personal Development
Plan is also going to be developed and lastly, how ‘Author, Purpose, Reliability and Relevance’
affects utilisation of a sources and evaluation of eight sources used in the report plan will be
done in this particular report.
TASK 1
Define the concept of personal and professional development.
Personal and professional development can be considered as a concept where an
individual develop objectives to effectively overcome weaknesses at personal and professional
level. This ongoing process help individuals or organisations to meet the desired objectives and
goals. Also, it can be said that a personal and professional development improves an individual's
strength and weaknesses as it leads success in much effective and in efficient manner
(Shibankova and et. al., 2019).
Describe and discuss the value of short term goals identifying at least 3 personal examples.
Value of short term goals can be understood with a good example of an individual where
the person is looking forward to bring immediate changes in his/her personality like
improvement within work-life balance and so on (Drude, Maheu and Hilty, 2019). In context to
personal and professional development plan short terms goals, would help a person in hitting
targets which are to attain a long term goal. 3 examples of short term goals are presented
underneath:
To improve performance numbers within 10 days while working on a particular project in
an organisation.
To improve networking and communication skills in 15 days.
To enhance critical thinking skill by 2% in 20 days.
