Personal and Professional Development is a tool which helps in determining one's own
skills and knowledge in their career and it also helps to ensure that the work is continued legally
and in an effective manner. The main aim of it is to manage all the learnings and the growth of
oneself throughout their career (Bond and Blevins, 2020). Having an effective personal and
professional development makes sure that the knowledge a person have and the understanding of
the area in which they are expertise is at the highest level possible. These are the skills which are
needed by the people so that they can advance their career in every way possible. There are many
ways through which this could be done by a person. Such a development enhance both personal
and professional skills of a person. This also helps in understanding the things which are needed
to be achieved by a person and how it can be achieved. Various skills are needed for the
development of personal and professional, such as: work- life balance, limit people and limit
wasting time, changing structure of life, etc. This report consist of a Personal and Professional
Development (PPD) Plan that relates to the higher education and the personal performance and a
reflective report with respect to the childcare business.
TASK 1: PPD Plan
The Personal and Professional Development (PPD) Plan is a tool which helps in
making a plan in a systematic and in a well organised manner which further helps manger to
keep their focus on the goals which are to be achieved and the ways it can be achieved by a
person with using the resources available to them (Patterson, 2019) . This plan involves a
personal SWOT analysis which will clearly link with the higher education and also the personal
performances. It also includes Smart goals which are made in accordance to the SWOT analysis.

SWOT is the analysis which an individual perform to evaluate the strength and
weaknesses under the personal and professional development along with the opportunities and
threats (David, Creek and David, 2019).
SWOT will help me to evaluate my strength, weaknesses, threats and opportunities which
will further help me in forming SMART goals for my personal and professional Development
with respect to the childcare business.

I have my exams coming of higher education and for that I will be studying. This will
slow down the process of development of my skills and also I will not be able to contribute much
of my time in its development. This will affect the plan of CPPD so made as I would not be able
to contribute in the skills development practices. I will not be able to give the expected time
required to development of such skills as most of my time will be consumed by the studies I have
to do for my exams.

While I was working on my CPPD plan, I found out that I am having stone in my kidney
which will be removed by the doctors in a day or two. This will also slow the progress of my
CPPD plan as I have to at least take few days off from the plan so made.

opportunities and the weaknesses analysed by me in the SWOT so that I can identify the skills
that are to be developed in carrying out the childcare business and then accordingly measure it.
In this I also identified how I can develop or achieve all my skills required and how much time
will I take to develop them all. After determining the SMART goals, I made a Continuous
personal and professional plan through which I analysed the targeting ability of my skills which
are being developed and the opportunities which will come along with its development. I also
determined the criteria on which all the skills developed by me would be judged.
IT skills are demanded by many and therefore with changing trends in the society it is of
great importance for my childcare business. I learned this skill by enrolling myself to the
diploma course as this skill is very important for me to sustain the competition in the market. The
said skill was judged on the basis of the exam which was conducted on completion of the
diploma.
Leadership skill is also very important which was achieved by me under the guidance of
the professionals of the company in which I was interning. This developed my skills which any
leader must possess which further resulted into my overall development. This development of the
skill was judges by the professionals who were guiding me with my leadership skills.
Decision making is also one of the important skill which I developed as it is very
important for my childcare business. This skill was achieved by me by working under the
guidance of the people in a company who are experienced and good powers to make decisions.
The guiding individuals analysed my development after judging my skills.

Problem solving is also one of the important skill which was needed for me to be
improved according to the SWOT analysis. To develop this skill I approached an expert who
knew various different methods by way of which the problems can be solved. This skill
development was analysed by the experts who were training me to develop such skills.
While carrying out all the plans relating to the development of the skills there were many
problems and issues faced by me. I undergone a major surgery to remove the stones from my
kidney and also I had my exams of the higher education for which I had to prepare. The plan so
made by me after facing all the problems and issues was successfully completed and I was also
was judged according to the criteria which was decided to judge the said skills developed by me.
The development of the skills proved to be very beneficial for me as it has enhanced my
personality and its overall development. The development of the skills raised the level of
confidence I earlier had and also it has improved my knowledge. This has also increased my
sustainability in the competitive market as I am updated with all the technologies and the
information related to it. All the skills are now being used by me in my childcare business.
Learning is a continuous process and even after developing the needed skills, I am still learning
skills which can be developed for more growth and success of my childcare business.

Personal and Professional development plan is very important for any individual who is
looking forward to start their career. This plan helps an individual to systematically set the goals
which are to be achieved by them by using the framework of SWOT to analyse their strength,
weaknesses, opportunities and also the threats. This framework further helps in making the
SMART goals by which an individual can know the relevancy and attainability of the required
skills which is to be developed. Once the goals are set, an individual plan the Continuous
Personal and professional plan i.e. CPPD plan which further helps in determining the progress of
the PPD plan made. This plan helps in determining the target ability and the opportunities to
