Personal development is an ongoing process to assess skills and qualities to maximise
their potential to achieve goals successfully. Planning for personal development is to set action
plan to be based on values, goal setting awareness and reflection for the purpose of self-
improvement (Anita and Novianty, 2020). Several aim and objectives can be set on basis of
goals to be achieved in either short-term, medium-term or long-term. This assist in identifying
different skills to be needed in order to survive in highly competitive environment. This report
contain the detail description of personal and professional development and differentiation is
made on the basis of short-term, medium-term and long-term goals. This report also discuss
about the importance of personal development plan for an individual for self improvement either
personally of professionally.

Idea of Personal and professional development
Professional and personal development refers to a lifelong activity to involve in process
of learning by facing the challenges in between to achieve a desired goal by an individual or an
organisation. In order to prepare plan for personal as well as professional development it is
essential to analyse skills currently present deeply so that it can support the learning process
accordingly. There are various skills which needs to be acquired by any individual in order to
achieve their desired goal from their development plan such as coaching, communication skills,
time management skills, behavioural skills and many more to add in it (Kamal, Abdullah and
Ghani, 2020). This tool of development can help an individual to plan for their future goals and
pertaining requirement to reach at that goal. It also include analysation of habits and hobbies of
individuals.
