AI Summary
This Reflective Development Report (RDR) assesses personal learning needs and opportunities within the context of employment, plans and manages a personal learning journey, and records personal progress with feedback. The report begins with an introduction highlighting the importance of personal and professional development (PPD) for career progression. It then evaluates learning styles (logical, social) and conducts a skills audit to assess interpersonal, motivation, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. A Personal Development Plan (PDP) is prepared, considering short and long-term development goals, employer goals, and personal goals, using competency tests for self-evaluation. The report also details a plan for future development, incorporating brainstorming and journey mapping activities. Finally, the conclusion reflects on the learning process, including the importance of self-management, self-assessment, and feedback from tutors and employers, culminating in a PDP for future career endeavors.

Reflective Development Report
Introduction
The report is based on reflective development from both a personal and professional
perspective. With the help of this report, the importance of personal professional
development will be identified and realized. In general, personal professional development
(PPD) is essentially required for an individual’s career progression as well as personal
development. Moreover, learning can occur anywhere and it is not complete after formal
education is completed. The paper will help me to plan as well as manage my personal and
professional development. As a professional, to seek opportunities for growing and
developing is necessary, both as a working professional as well as an individual. Apart from
this, it is always important to remember that personal development is the way to achieve
professional development in life. It is because, being a physically and mentally healthy,
happy individual is critically important for becoming a better professional (Starmer et al.,
2016). I believe that one should always consider ways he or she can achieve personal
development while enhancing the ability and enjoyment of everyday professional activities.
Thus, the Reflective Development Report (RDR) will act as a plan for my future while
including personal learning needs, Personal Development Plan (PDP), development progress,
and reflection on learning as well as development journey till now. Afterward, a concise
summary will be included in this RDR.

Task 1
This section is dedicated to evaluating my learning styles as well as its implications on my
personal development for the future. I have come to know about several learning styles
include social, verbal, visual, auditory, physical, logical, and solitary and combination
(Hynes, 2012). Here, I am evaluating my personal learning needs in relation to employment.
While doing so, I will include analysis of my prior learning, skills audit and employment as
well as future project projections (Lumley, 2020). This will help me to discuss and thereby
analyse training and development requirements of my future employer as well as a potential
employer. I believe that my present learning style has direct implications for my personal

development as well as future growth. After studying all of the above-mentioned learning
styles, I have realized that my learning style is a combination of learning styles. It means that
it is a combination of two of the key learning styles which are beneficial for my overall
development and growth (Hertzman et al., 2015). I possess the two learning styles as logical
or mathematical and social learning style. In this context, I would like to mention that the
social learning style is the one where an individual learns new things from the society around
him or her. In this type of learning, an individual acts as a part of a group. I am a social
learner because I always explain my understanding of a group which helps one to learn. On
the other hand, mathematical or logical learning is the learning style where learner applies
logics and reasoning, sequences and aptitude for further learning and development (Chou,
2019).

In a future project or employment operations, I will use such learning styles of mine in
combination to get the best results so as to perform better (Bumann et al., 2012). I consider
that my present learning style is helpful for PPD and it will allow me to develop professional
as well as personal skills as a key opportunity for future growth (Boud et al., 2017). Based on
these learning styles or we can say a combination of learning styles, I will set out the key
objective in future careers or jobs while following active learning and training. I will also
gain the required knowledge to gain employment at the desired place and designation while
improving skills to get a qualified experience (Ash & Clayton, 2014). In addition to that, I

Task 2
This section is dedicated to preparing PDP while considering future development goals such
as short term development goals and long-term development goals and employer goals versus
personal goals (Andresen et al., 2019). Here, I am going to evaluate my skills and
competence from the perspective of employer goals and personal goals. This competency test
will allow me to find my strengths and hence I will compare myself with others at the
workplace. I have completed a competency test with 16 most common as well as work-
related competencies. After conducting the test related to competency, I have successfully
evaluated my skills and competence for the future (123test.com, 2020).
Based on the competency test conducted on the given link, I have found several competencies
scores. The results of the competency test are given below in the form of the figure. In this
context, I have realized that competency is an important term in PPD. The competency test
report is indicating that how I can rate myself on each of the 16 competencies. I can now rate
my competencies from the perspective of PPD (Bumann et al., 2012). Now, based on this
competency test, I am able to judge as well as evaluate myself on the basis of parameters or
competencies as follows:
1. Reacting flexibility
2. Noticing,
3. Analysing
4. Taking the initiative

PPD includes you on your position through the corporation to expand personal and expert
abilities as an opportunity and route described with the aid of your supervisor or boss
(Starmer et al., 2016). In addition to that, a non-public development plan PDP way that pupil

individuals, PPD is often the approach that humans communicate in companies and so will

My PDP based above two tasks and evaluation is as follows:
In order to improve myself, I will always use brainstorming activity. In this way, I
will practice brainstorming with my classmates and hence try to utilise DT tools in the
discussion.
Based on (Ortbal & Mehta, 2016), I will do Journey Mapping activity while
considering the real-life examples so as to develop myself personally and
professionally.
In order to develop my personality, based on (Brooks & Dunn, 2011), I will acquire
more knowledge of the DT theories with practical-life examples and then concentrate
on the key points of the designer’s mind-sets and their core values.
While analysing value-chains for every industry sector, I will evolve myself and
hence read some academic articles on the basis of value chains.

I will always to try increasing my problem-finding ability with the help problem and
needs analysis so that DT can be used for effective problem-solving (Ministry Of
Education, 2020).
Task 4: Conclusion
The final section is containing my reflection on personal development as well as learning
throughout making RDR (Moon, 2015). I am going to talk about 360-degree feedback with
tutors or employers. With the help of this reflective analysis, I have identified key areas of
good practice as well as areas for improvement (Petrovici, 2014). In addition, this reflection
and analysis allowed me to realize and plan future development goals while comprising an
update of my personal long-term goals. The RDR allowed me to evaluate my career goals and
personal goals as well. With the help of this reflection and analysis, I got the difference
between personal and professional development and how they are inter-related. In addition,
while I was writing a reflection, I have realised the importance of self-management and self-
development in a competitive edge (Petrovici, 2014).
Apart from this, while conducting the skills assessment and audit, I have evaluated the skill
level for five essential skills which are needed from the employment perspective. I also
understood the difference between different needs of an employer along with skills and
knowledge for personal development (Starmer et al., 2016). Based on this reflective analysis,
I have become self-aware as I conducted self-assessment on my personality with the help of
skills audit as well as a competency test. In addition to that, my competency analysis based
on 16 key competencies mentioned above, gave me life-long learning and encouragement
towards future career endeavours. The reflection and analysis allowed me to identify my
learning style as a combination of logical and social learning style. I will use this information
for further studies and professional development. Apart from this, the reflective development
report has successfully assessed personal learning demands, needs and opportunities in
relation to the present and future employment. While evaluating myself, on the basis of
