Introduction
Personal development is refers to a lifelong process as it can be considerer as a way to
access their skills and qualities. By considering their aims and objectives and setting the goals in
order to maximise their profits and objectives. Professional development is the learning to earn
and maintaining the credentials that is academic degrees and attending the conferences and
learning opportunities that are coming in practise (Abdel-Moneim, Khalil, and Kamel, 2021).
Their are various types of goals of an individual which helps them in achieving their objectives.
These objectives encourage individual to work effectively so that so that they could easily reach
to their goals and objectives. This report includes discussion bout personal and professional
development, then importance of short, medium and long term gaols. Further it consist of value
of personal development plan.
Definition of the concept of personal and professional development
Personal development is refers to the lifelong process that is helps in accessing of the
goal and objectives and fulfilling your potential. It is allowing a person to be proactive and
taking charge of their actions. Personal development is contributing to both of the satisfaction
and success in everyone life. Professional development is concern with the learning to earn or
maintaining the professional credentials in the academic and working life. It can be made by an
individual at the time when they are focusing on their goals and objectives. There can be variety
of approaches or methods which are related to the professional development. These are
consultation, lesson study, mentoring and coaching and technique assistance. There are certain
importance of personal and professional development which are to be discussed in this para.
Personal development is important for the individual in providing the clarity to the personal
vision and improves the exiting skills and knowledge (Agbalajobi, 2021). Personal development
helps in defining of the personal goals and objectives and make them more clear. Then another is
it is focusing on improving of the existing skills from fast mistakes and overcomes from various
challenges that is concerned with the education, guidance and training. Another importance is
that helps in driving motivation and satisfaction. Personal development helps in letting control
over the things. Then next is it helps the individual in helping identification of true potential. As
it work on the skills and abilities that is discovering the hidden potential. On the other hand,
professional development is people in their career development. Most of the employees and

achieving their goals and objectives. Th professional development helps in identifying good job
and planning for their career in near future. These personal and professional development helps
in achieving organisational goals and objectives. The main purpose of professional development
is that it provides opportunity of growth and development to the individuals. This helps in
building the individuals skills and knowledge (Denicol, Davies, and Pryke, 2021). It can be
helpful at the time of providing training and development opportunities in the person career.

Many of the people is having long term goals and objectives. So for completing these
long term objectives, the person should have to be focus on short term gaols. As these goals are
and objectives are most important to carried out because this helps in achieving long term goals.
Short term goals and objectives provide various solutions to the problems of long term as when
they are properly formulated then individual long term goals can be easily achieved. Short term
goals can be considers as a path or steps between long term goals. They refers to the series of
milestones. They provide a clear plan to grasp whatever seems like impossible. Their can be
certain importance of short term goals. These are Achievability- as these are short term goals
which mostly be completed in between 6-8 months. They reduce procrastination. When a person
is mostly focusing on this long term goals so it takes a map but a person might be get distracted
with the gaol. So, for focusing on the long term goals, it is important to have short term
objectives. As they should be achieve by person at short duration then this could be lead to move
forwards towards long term goals. Short-term goals are like having a checkpoints or turning the
directions on their journey (Feng, Wang, and Zhang, 2021). Having short term gaols helps the
person in keeping them motivated and focused towards the career objectives. If short term goals
are not achieved then person should not have to lose hope of achieving long term plan. Short
term goals are defined as a clear path that is allowing to focus on one thing at a time. It helps in
increasing productivity of the individual and achieving long term gaols and objectives quicker.

Medium goals are the gaols and objectives which are coming between of short term and
long term as these goals are bigger than short term goals and shorter than long term gaols. The
timing in which these gaols are to be completed is between 3-4 years (Khory, Rahman, and
Zailaini, 2021). These medium term gaols helps the individual in developing more in their career
and focusing on their objectives. This helps in focusing long term goals and achieving them more
quickly. Short term goals achieved too soon. Long term goals take a lot time to accomplish. So,
in between there is a mid term goals which can be achieved in progress. Medium term goals
ensures that whether a person is still heading his long term gaols or he has left in between. Also,
a person could have a choice of changing in order to complete that progress. This can be related
with the long term goals. A medium term goals can be run to 10 km. The only way in which a
person could be able to run to at shorter period that is short term gaols. Personally it is founded
that most of the gaols which are to be found is mid term goals and objectives. As short term
gaols do not have time to make a significant progress. And while long term goals are so lengthy
that they take so much of time to complete. So this is the best goals that is mid term goals that
helps in achieving individual progress in most effective manner. These offers best of the both as
long enough to make a significant progress and short enough that a person is not a complete
different individual by the time (Leon, and Shdaimah, 2021). Their can be some of the examples
of medium term goals which are shown below:
To become a leader in the reputed company.
To enhance my communication skills and engagement with the other people.
To speak at a public place.
To conduct a live event of music at any cafe or restaurant.

Long term gaols are those which is person should have to complete it in 10 years. It is
easy to think about long term gaols and objectives. But it is hard to perform it in real life. Long
term goals and objectives are refers to the final results of an individual hard work. It is like a
buying of a car or paying off the house. This can be achieved only when a person is very serious
about their life and goals maintained. They add true meaning to the lives and it is when a person
finally achieved this dream job (Li, and Li, 2021). A long term goals are those which takes a bit
longer time to complete it in effective manner. It takes about 10-20 years to complete it. Long
term goals can be necessary for the achievement of self improvement. They provide something
to strive and help the individual in keeping focused towards the achievement of their career roles.
They can be run as a marathon. Long term gaols are regarded as shaping the direction of their
lives and career. They provides a person something that is constantly reminding of the work
towards their achievement of goals and objectives. It helps the individual in reminding how hard
work a person does for achieving their short term and long term goals. This will finally pay off.
Some of the examples of long term goals are :
Buy a flat of my money and paid off.
Should have three personal bodyguards

Personal development plan is a plan which is made by an individual for making
improvements on their weakness. These weakness are the gaols and objectives of a person so that
he could able bale to work on those. This personal development plan consist of various goals and
objectives. Then it includes resources and strategies to be used for achieving this goals and then
it includes time duration in which is to be completed (Noor Husna, Irwan Mahazir, and
Mohamad, 2021). There can be certain importance of personal development plan. Which are that
it can be called as detailed action plan that helps in personal, career gaols and academic goals.
This plan helps the individual in looking t0oawrds strength and weaknesses and making

improvements on yourself. Further, it helps the person in changing the career plan and helps
them in building current skills and knowledge (Onuoha, and Akogwu, Rosellon, 2021). This plan
will helps in learning something new and achieving new heights and growth opportunities in
their future period of time.

From the above it can be concluded that personal development and professional
development is the reason that person is moving forwards to achieve their goals and objectives.
Then another is that there can be certain goals and objectives that every person should have.
Their are various types of goals and objectives. These are short term, medium term and long term
goals. These goals could be achieve by the individual within a required time period. Their are
various people who make a personal development plan in order to work on their weakness and
this results in development of their skills and knowledge and further helps in creating of the
