INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development is an important process which helps to
enhance the personality of individual and also improvise their future growth. This helps them
out to achieve their goals and objectives (Holzweiss, and Parrott, 2017).This report will cover
the concept of personal and professional development along with the short-term, medium-
term and long-term goals. Further it will also provide the description about the author,
purpose, reliability and relevance with evaluation of 8 sources.
TASK 1
Define the concept of personal and professional development
It is an important process which helps the individual to enhance the performance and
also to achieve goals and objectives. This manages a proper knowledge and skill in individual
and make them to work efficiently, effectively and systematically.
Describe and discuss the value of short-term goals identifying at least 3 personal examples.
These are all such goals which require time period of less than 6 months and can be
achieved immediately. Some of the examples are like creative skills, communication skills
and decision making (Martell and Stevens, 2017).
Describe and discuss the value of medium-term goals identifying at least 3 personal
examples.
Medium-term goals are all such aims which can be covered in more than 1 year or
less than 5 years. This helps out to reach on long-term aspirations. For instance, problem-
solving, information and technology skills and time management (Tannehill, and et. al.,
2021).
Describe and discuss the value of long-term goals identifying at least 3 personal examples
It is all such goals which require time period for above five years are covered under it.
This manages the shaping of career and also to complete the development of individual. For
examples interpersonal skills, achieving a prominent position in company, management
knowledge.

Describe and discuss the value of a Personal Development Plan and construct an example
using your identified goals
PDP helps in providing personal abilities and also to identify the gaps in the
experience, skills and knowledge. This is mainly a structured plan through which individual
can manage all the work in proper manner.

Describe and discuss how ‘Author, Purpose, Reliability and Relevance’ affect the use of a
source.
In order to make the information authentic and reliable it is important to provide
proper sources from where it is being taken. This can be analysed with the help of CRAAP
test which evaluate whether the source of credible and reliable (Morozova, and Kuzheleva,
2020)
This is mainly:
 Currency: Time period of information published.
 Accuracy: Reliability of content, truthfulness and correctness.
 Relevancy: Provide the source and its relation we topic.
 Purpose: It helps to identify rationally of information as what is the aim.
 Authority: Identifies the author or the publisher.
