1. Introduction
Academic skills refer to those skills which is developed by the university or the
institute in the minds of students for their future career growth. Skills which is
essential for their future career are presentation, writing, referencing and others.
With help of these skills students are able to present their topic effectively in front of
the audience or their teachers without any type of hesitation (Agarwal and Arya, 2021).
Due to the effective use of this skill students are able to apply their own creativity
and idea in their different assignments With help of these assignments or task the
analytical and problem solving ability of students are highly developed within short
duration. In aspect of personal development it is defined as a set of actions which is
utilized by individual for enhance their performance effectively. This report will cover
the concept of personal and professional development. It also cover the value of
medium, short and long term goals. It also covers the discussion of the value of a
personal development plan.
2. Definition of the concept of personal and professional
development
Personal development is defined as a group of which is used by a individual
or a group for developing their ability, potentiality and performance at higher rate. All
these elements are highly essential for grooming the smartness of every student for
doing their assigned task in smart manner. Personal development is also mandatory
for enhancing the career growth of students or the individual person at maximum
level. In aspect of professional development it is also the another type of adaptability
and learning procedure (Ahmad and Hameed, 2021). But little bit difference is that in
this phase individual will learn all new things within low time in effective manner. For
increasing the professional development of students it is necessary for management
that they must teach effective and meaningful knowledge to them with help of
introducing various courses between students according to their interest and
passion.

A short term goal is defined as those goals and achievement which is
achieved by single person and any educational or non educational institute within
short duration. In short-term goals the changes which is made in highly effective
manner for short time. With help of applying short term goals work of all categories of
employees are easily finished in low time (Arhin, Essuman and Arhin, 2021). The best
example of short term goals in aspect of personal development are good
communication skills, effective reading habit and time management. But the fact is
that due to maintaining short term goals workload and stress are effectively
increased in minds of students which leads to create negative impact on their
performance. Due to this it is mandatory for educational institute that they must keep
flexibility in their courses and other activities for sustaining their passion and interest
in their studies for long time. In aspect of these three elements which already
mentioned above students are able to do their work in the form of team and also
helps to increase the clear understanding of various topics during the time of doing
job.

A medium term goal is defined as those elements which are responsible for
the success of any educational institute at large scale. It is also comes under the
category of short term goals. Due to maintaining this type of goals allover personal
development of students are effectively increased in long term in various ways (Dinh,
Caliskan and Zhu, 2021). It includes creativity, problem solving and decision making.
Due to the effective utilization of all these three elements the self confidence of the
students are effectively increased for doing any type academic or difficult work
easily. The other advantage for improving this skills by students is to their abilities
are easily are easily increased for always taking correct decision in any situation. In
aspect of medium term goals due to always taking right decision their future are
easily for short duration.

A long term goal is defined as those success and achievement which is achieved by
the individual student, any institute for long period. In long term goal various
strategies and policies are implemented effectively by the senior management of
institute or colleges. Due to the use of this strategies, rules, regulation and policies
effectively goodwill and reputation of educational institution are effectively sustained
in long term. In aspect of rules and regulation, various institutes are applying this
strategy for maintaining the decuram of students in long term (Estrada Villa, Marín and
Salinas, 2021). It is also important for sustaining the vision, mission and objectives of
educational institutes long period. With help of these elements the success of the
company is effectively sustained in long time. Due to maintaining goals Due to
maintaining long term goals inn the aspect of vision, mission and objectives
company easily maintained good relationship with all types of customers for long
time. In aspect of long term goal, goodwill and reputation is the best example to
understand that in which way long term goals are worked. Goodwill is one of the
element which is highly concerned by various institutions and due to concerning this
goodwill they always run their activities with transparency and legally. Due to run
their activities legally academic misconduct is easily reduced at higher rate.
6. Description and discussion of the value of a Personal
Development Plan
Personal development plan is basically a procedure which is highly essential
for developing useful action plane. In this procedure action plan will be prepared on
the basis of reflection, goal setting, planning, awareness and values. Due to using all
these elements career, education and relationship of every student (Korkmaz and
Temur, 2022). With help of these elements various institutes are able to identify their
own strength and weakness in any type of work. The main motive for preparing this plan
is to reducing the problems of students or other categories of peoples which was faced by
them in organization or institute on monthly and daily basis.
From the analysis above information it is understood that when students received
authentic relevance, reliability, purpose and author in form of source. Then definitely student
have the option or choice for learning new things effectively. Due to the use of authentic
source students easily students easily understand that in which way work is done in smart
manner.

7.0 Conclusion
From the analysis of above information it is concluded that academic skills is
one of those skills who plays major role in the career growth and performance of
students. Due to adapting academic skills effectively presentation, writing and
referencing of the students are highly improved during the time of doing any type of
task. With help of applying academic skills the positive relationship between students
and teachers are effectively sustained in long term. Therefore, academic skill is a
very important skill for each and every student for doing the work in systematic
manner. Due to doing work in systematic manner topics are easily cleared for all
students in long term. Due to the effective utilization of skills communications and
coordination are effectively worked during the time of conducting any type of project.
