desired goals in long term. Self-managed learning is linked directly with determining learning
objectives by analysing it need and its plan by which it have to achieved. It provides significant
opportunities to personnel to formulate strategies for their own development. Following
assignment is based on Travelodge Hotel which will help to understand various approaches to
self-managed learning. This report includes different ways for lifelong learning by which
personal and professional development can be attained. The certain benefits of self-managed
learning for organisation and individual is being studied briefly. Report will help to understand

3.1 Short term and long term objectives and activities required to implement development plan
Short term objectives: - I have determined some objectives for period or short term on the
basis of my weakness. This are necessary to be developed immediately. As per these
development of time management skills and management skills are set as an short term
objectives for this I will attend various seminars and training sessions related to this objectives
(Jimoyiannis, 2010).
Long term objectives: - For the future I have determine long term objectives which
includes development of new strengths which assist me in long run of personal and professional
work life. My long term objective is to emerge decision making strengths in order to make
effective decision at right time and at right place. For acquiring this it must be performed under
SMART objectives i.e. Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely.
For implementing the plans in significant manner some actions has to be considered as an
important key points which are described as follows:-
Scope and content of personal and professional development plan: - The staff of
organisation must focus on the main objectives of personal and professional development
plan (Robertson, 2016). For guidance of staff members they must be provided significant
forms of development.
Relationship between development plan and its links with other activities: - The
personal and professional development plan must focus on specific needs to increase
level of performance in existing job. It assist in development and act as a next step
towards career (Elliott, 2011).
Implementation: - The plan of personal and professional development may faces some
issues in its implementation. Before implementation effective training must be provided
for attaining objectives of plan prepared.
Impact: - At last, the effectiveness of personal and professional plan implemented must
be evaluated and necessary action must be taken if it lacks behind in effectiveness.

is necessary for me to through various activities for attaining them and enhancing my skills. This

knowledge gained in these weeks I will apply them in my work life to attain its benefits.
2. I will attend different training session for eliminating my weakness of time management.
This will provide me significant information on different strategies related to this.
3. I will go through various management lectures organised by experts to develop my
managerial skill to decline mismanagement form organisation.
3.3Reflecting own learning against original aim and objectives
By evaluating different learning style I have set significant objectives for my personal
development this has to achieve within a determined period of time effectively. For this I have to
determine different sources which will support me in gaining effective knowledge out of it. After
selection of sources I have to go through it effectively with proper dedication and hard work in
order to gain significant knowledge. It must be done within timeframe. If the process goes within
time period it will directly lead to my personal and professional development by grabbing
opportunities (McNiff, 2010).

From the above report it is being concluded that there is significant need for individuals
to develop personal and professional qualities and skills for achieving success in personal and
work life. In above report various approaches to self-manage learning and lifelong learning is
