INTRODUCTION
Personal development is most important aspects that consists of various statements that
reflects various effective approaches through which an individual will achieve its objectives and
develops its potential to achieve the job in international organisation (Hanraets Hulsebosch and
de Laat, 2011). There are some important methods like self managed learning, time management
and life long learning are available through individual as well as organization gets benefited its
operations. There are various effective approaches have been discussed in this report that provide
clear understanding about the ways through an individual will enhance its learning (Personal
development planning, 2017). There are also some effective ways are determined through which
individuals can encourage learning in personal and professional context. With this, some specific
examples of organization like TESCO are also discussed providing conceptual knowledge and
understanding of process that organisation follows to enhance the potential of employees at
workplace.
TASK 1
1.1 Effective managers to self direct learning.
As per effective research study, this self managed learning is a technique that makes an
individual committed towards enhancement of competencies in specific field in which it has an
expertise. There are various approaches to self managed learning which has used by employees
to achieve self managed learning (Richter and Baumert, 2011). Usually, it can be considered as
self directed learning that includes a personnel taking various initiatives to analyse its own needs
of knowledge and skills to promote the experience. In this context, some effective approach of
self directed learning has been identified and mentioned above: Visionary approach: Most important approach that enables the individuals to analyse the
essential requirement of skills and potential in future and also develop a potential to
increase the self managed learning. It also supports in identifying the directions through
which an individual will be able to its personal objectives. For example: organization like
TESCO also use this approach to improve the skills of employees by providing them
training at workplace.

Strategic learning: It is also significant approach of learning that provides major
significance on using the method of evaluation to support a personnel learn from the
activities and challenges taken by him so that they develop a competency to adopt
appropriate strategies at workplace.
Some effective learning styles have been discussed which support the individual to understand
the ways through an individual is able to gain knowledge and learning.
Kolbs model of learning: It is critically recognised as experimental style of learning that
includes various other learning styles that should be used by individuals to enhance their
potential skills and experience in personal and professional life (Trorey, 2017). As per
this theory, learner is able to get knowledge by going through four stages in self
managed learning. Like concrete experience, reflective observation, conceptualization
and experimentation.

1.2 Effective ways to encourage learning .
As per the analysis, there are various significant methods which can used to encouraged
individuals learning within organizational. For increasing the culture of self managed learning,
every individual should have need to develop long and short term goals. Further, these objectives
will provide direction to individual in order to get success in achievement of skills (Richter and
et.al., 2011). In this context, I will develop required skills and potential to attain the job position
through the use self directed method of learning. Apart from this, individuals can also enhance
its learning by facing critical challenges in personal and professional life. It has been
accomplished through achievement of various skills like leadership, problems solving, planning
and organizing, communication and effective learning skills. Thus, the effective learning should
be used by individuals so that they will be able to analyse the ways through which they will gain
knowledge. In order to increase learning I will also face critical challenges in personal and
working life which support in getting an edge over skills and competencies.
By taking guidance or coaching guidance from his superiors and teacher an individual
will get experience which helps in achievement personal and professional objectives. Hence, it
can be said that these techniques or methods supports in encouraging the culture of life long
learning in personal and working life.
1.3 Appropriate benefits of self directed learning.
As per given scenario, this method of self managed learning is considered as beneficial in
increasing learning and experience. In present scenario, some significant aspect I have analysed
which are considered as good which are described below:
Suitable for firms: With this effective research skills, I have also been able to analyse
that the individuals that use self managed learning are considered as an asset by
organization as they are able to generate more effective and innovative ideas to develop
their product and services to maintain effective position in market (Florian, 2012).
Further, this method of self directed learning also increases the potential of staff and raise
there ability to perform better so that objectives of enterprise could be accomplished
effectively and effectively. It posses the strategies through which productivity of
employee in organisation could be increased.
Benefits to individuals: One major benefits which is attained by organisation is that they
will get highly responsible and dedicated persona who are capable of handling higher

authorities and important as well crucial duties could be given to them. It supports the
individuals in organization to increase there potential after accomplishment of various
skills and potential at workplace. In present scenario, this method of learning provides a
major support in enhancing the skills, identification of potential, strengths and
weaknesses by analysing personal skills. It has provided ability to develop strengths and
analysing weaknesses which have to overcome with the support of increasing in present
abilities and gaining new skills.
4.1 Situational work based problems and appropriate solutions
As per the above mentioned task, there is effective work based problem that I have
identified at workplace which directly affects the decisions of organization (Fullan, 2014).
Worker at operational level always face difficulties in managing the task for which they have
stated the organization to provide training at workplace to gain proper understanding of work
based problems but the managers of enterprise have refused to organise training program. This
refusal has resulted in creation of conflict between both the parties. This was happens due to
ineffective communication between employees and managers. In order, I have also analysed
some effective solutions like:
Effective communication: This problematic situation has raised due to ineffective
communication among the superiors and subordinates. Therefore, by making positive
interaction with workers, management will resolve the problems.
Negotiation: It is also an effective technique through which I will be able to
communicate with the employees and also to able understand the problems which are
faced by them in accomplishment of activities. Negotiation aids the management to
analyse the situation and condition of workers through effective interaction or
observation and make them accountable to provide training to employees.
4.2 Effective styles of learning implement to resolve the problems.
In order to resolve the problems, some effective kolb's learning styles has been discussed
that provides an understanding of various stages through which an individual will acquire
learning mentioned above:
Converging style: Considered as appropriate for individuals in organization that
accomplish the task at strategic level in organization (Dochy and et.al., 2012). They also
posses the capabilities of critical analysis and thinking to resolve work based problems.
4
Document Page
Supportive style: This style should be implemented by organization to promote the
coordination cooperation among the workers in order to resolve the work based
problems.
Promotional style: It is also a major strategy of gain knowledge in which the workers at
middle management are interlinked with top level and aims to promote the resolve the
solution through promotion of solutions.
4.3 Strategies of effective time management and its uses.
In the organisation's department different types of work for the employee which should
be complete on time. Employees are can not be able to do their work on time. So they need the
strategies for manage their time (Yeh, Huang and Yeh, 2011). Employees can make strategy like
how they can complete their task on time, what factors or topics are very important, how they
can complete their work like robot and very important is learning and professional development.
These all methods are help me to complete my work on time and I am able to do complete my
work on time. This is my big strength and I am serving to the company. Time management is
very critical factors in any organisation, Because if employees can not be able to complete their
work on time then either they unsatisfying with their job or company or customer will survive
from their services. So employee should learn from self and others as more as they learn, so it
will be good for themselves and company.
