INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development is very important and essential element for the
life of individual as it will be helpful to each one in identifying what are their weakness and
strength in respect to opportunity or targets which they have set for themselves (Cerezo-Narváez
and et.al., 2018). Thus it would be helping in self-managed learning and working on lifelong
development based on continuous development of person.
This report is based on personal and professional development plan which is presenting
the updated skills audit and plan which would help me evaluate my progress towards set targets.
Further it will include Gibbs Model to describe the feeling and experience of person during the
development plan and then identifying problems encountered during the professional life.

Personal and professional development plan help individuals in managing learning and
development of skills which are essential in growth of career. It is significant as it provides
guidelines to keep the skills and knowledge updated, required to complete task effectively. Gibbs
model provide clear description about the experiences and analyse its practice. Model has been
used to explain about personal and professional development plan. It is a theoretical model
which provide frame work for reflective writing, it was created by Graham Gibbs.
Describing what has happened: I have conducted personal audit to review my skills and
knowledge, it has helped me to identify strength and weakness. It is effective strategy which is
useful for ambitious and creative people. It provides solutions and measure to enhance
productivity. According to my personal audit it was identified that computer skill is my strength,
I am competent in this skill and design programs. My weaknesses are independent learning,
Event organisation, Interpersonal skills.
Feelings: my experience is quiet good regarding the audit which was conducted, it has identified
key areas of improvement. In starting I was very nervous and sad and after the development of
this plan I am specific about my goals and objectives.
Evaluation: in the starting I was very tensed, people around me were criticising about my
weakness. This has decreased my sense of confidence; my experience was bad. Earlier I was not

able to communicate with my opinions and ideas to other. This was the reason, people started
misunderstanding me and this has given rise to conflicts. After development of skills, I can
clearly express my thoughts.
Analysis: I was not able to achieve the skill set to the desired level because of insufficient time
and lack of resources. In order to develop individual learning skills, I have used online resource
and read different books. This has helped me in enhancing my knowledge and experience, I got
the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.
Conclusion: I have developed different set of skills which are essential for my future career. I
will develop this plan in future to acknowledge my skills. I have made updated personal
development plan for making it more productive and efficient. It is continuous plan which is
essential in nurturing and improving skills. I have rated my skill level and identified my strength
and weakness. Development plans has helped me in achieving my learning goals and required
level of competencies

This plan has created positive impact on my personal and professional development. There are
certain priority areas like interpersonal skills which are essential in dealing with day to day
experience. I have taken some specific steps to achieve the improvement target, for example
participating in team discussion will enhance my interpersonal relations with others.
3 Professional problems and their solutions
Problem 1: I was selected to give presentation in conference meeting, due to lack of
impersonal communication I was not able to give presentation. My thoughts and ideas were not
clearly communicated to audience. People around were criticising and making fun this has
reduced my motivation level. It is significant to have this skill as it makes easier to express the
point views and opinions. I was not able to answer the questions of others because of insufficient
knowledge and experience. Lack of skills like individual learning has limited my boundaries and
I failed to interact with others and surroundings.
Solution to the problem: Initially, I was really nervous and worried but, later on a relaxed
thought about the issue rendered me to find a solution by being calm. Then I used my computer
skill and tried explaining things in better and effective way, audience started visualising the
things. This circumstance motivated me to give better presentation to the people.
Problem was solved of not: yes the issue was resolved, people appreciated my lecture.

Same solution will be selected in same circumstance: yes, I will select similar solutions in the
same circumstances to resolve the problem.
Learning from the problem: I have developed my presentation skills, now I can interact with
other people and provide them with effective solutions to their problems. It enhanced my
motivation skill and developed a positive mind-set.
Problem 2: Another problem faced in my professional career was lack of formal
mentoring, being a team leader I was not capable of guiding my members. I had no idea about
how to resolve the issues and provide them with effective solutions. I have undergone these
problems in my professional life because of insufficient skills like individual learning.
Solution to the problem: leadership skill has helped to deal with this situation and guide my
team members to achieve desired goals and objectives. On the basis of personal experiences, I
provided them idea to encounter problems. At the starting it was very difficult for me to handle
this situation because my team members were giving negative comments. Gradually with time I
was able to manage and control my team members and build right connection with them.
Problem was solved of not: yes, problem was solved and I managed to encourage and guide my
followers.
Same solution will be selected in same circumstance: yes, I will select same solution.
Learning from the problem: I have learned to mentor my team and manage time because
proper scheduling of task is essential for mentoring. Now I can provide guidelines to team
members related to accomplishment of task
CONCLUSION
This project concluded about my strength and weakness which were identified during the
personal audit. In order to enhance and improve skills personal development plan was designed.
According to my personal audit it was identified that computer skill is my strength, I am
competent in this skill and design programs. Further this report explained about Gibbs Model
