INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development is an important and wide concept which helps in
increasing individuals skills and knowledge. Both the terms are used in development and
growth of a person. This process assist in improving overall personality which is more important
in today's business environment. One of the best advantage of personal and professional
development is that it provide better opportunities to explore activities in business process and
get positive results by individuals. With the help of this concept an individual set the goals and
objectives and get more benefits to grow their personality as well as skills in an appropriate
manner. Present reports is based on ALDI, which is one of the biggest retailer company that
provide grocery products to their customers. In this study different types of learning style and
their benefits are mentioned (PERSONAL OR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLANS,
2012). Along with this ways of lifelong learning is also described in this report. It is also
mentioned how to overcome from various types of problems by using these learning style. Time
management strategies and their various advantage of self manages learning is also define in this
assignment.
TASK 1
1.1 Approaches to self managed learning
Self managed learning is an effective concept which is used by the individuals to increase
the skills and knowledge in an effective manner. It is more important for the individuals to
define own abilities as well as capabilities to develop an effective plan. There are some main and
important approaches which is used by the ALDI: Visionary approach: This approaches helps in understanding the various process which
assist in managing the self managed learning and also understand the future needs (Busse,
Aboneh and Tefera, 2014). The important benefits of using this approaches is to identify
the future needs and also enhance the skills according to these needs in effective way. Setting goals: Under this approach, it mainly focus on the goals and objectives which
assist in increasing the skills and achieve effective targets in appropriate manner. Strategic approach: In this approach the strategic framework build the strong mind so
that they easily faced every challenges and complex situations. The individuals take
better decisions to resolve the critical situation in effective manner.

Conference and seminars: It is an effective approaches which helps in managing self
learning. In this various peoples and employees take part and attend conference which
aids in increasing the skills and knowledge and also boost up their confidence (Chinn and
Kramer, 2013). This will take better place in competitive business so that they can easily

Lifelong learning is an effective process which which assist to the individual to develop
their skills and knowledge. It helps in defining right path foe improving their personality. There

learning of an individual. In this the people define their strength and weakness in
appropriate manner and also put their best efforts to develop and enhance their skills and
knowledge. Collaboration continuous learning: In this process the manager of the company manage
their team and provide same guideline for improving their capabilities at workplace
(Desimone, 2011). One of the best advantage of this is that the team having different
peoples which exchange their opinions to develop their skills and find better solution to
resolve all the problems. Communication and relationship: Effective communication and better relationship helps
in reducing the conflicts which become arise in between them. Hence effective
communication helps in maintain as well as build a positive relationship among
employees.
Leadership: In this leaders are the one person who lead many people and also motivate
them to perform their task in effective manner. This process of leaderships helps in
improving the performance if the company and get positive results by workers.

4.1 Solution to work based problems
In organization every individuals face various type of problems that create many
conflicts among staff members. This reduces the overall performance of the employees as well
as productivity of the company. So it is more important for the manager of the company to
identity the problems and also find better solution to increase the performance of the workers in
effective manner. There are main and important issue which faced by the every members of
ALDI:
Collaborative of working: In today's business environment lack of coordination and
communication is a big issue which is faced by the workers at working place (Kukulska-Hulme,

2012). It increases the operation cost of the business. Therefore, it is very important for manager
of the company to solve it effectively. For this he can assist in effective use of available
resources in optimum level. On the other hand unnecessary rules and regulations also waste time
and cost of the business by creating more hurdle in communication process between employee
and employer.
Solution of issue: It is important for the management of the company to resolve the different
problems so that productivity of the firm remain unaffected and goals can be accomplished by
the organisation in appropriate manner. There are variety of solutions which can be used by
ALDI to solve the communication problems among employees: Development effective communication channels: It is the main duty for manager of the
company to develop effective use of communication channel in order to reduce conflicts.
Maintain team building and working: In this, the main focus of the company is to
encourage their team working which assist in enhancing better knowledge and sills to
solve the problem in appropriate manner.
4.2 Communicate in a variety of styles and appropriate manner at various levels
In organization lack of communication is a big problems which create more obstacles and
reduce productivity of the workers (Lamote and Engels, 2010). There are different types of
communication in which information can be exchanged in the organisation. Some of them are
discussed below in detail: Verbal communication: This type of communication defines a various style of words
and symbols to send the message from one person to another. It is more formal which is
used by the lower level of business. It also important for the sender to use simple and
effective symbols which receiver can easily understand and can make out the main
purpose behind it. Non- verbal communication: In this type of communication sender use body language,
gesture for sending the message. This is totally based on the symbols. Written communication: This type of communication is used by the top level
management of the company which is more formal. The sender write a message in paper
and send to the receiver.
Public communication: In this process of communication the sender stand in front of
large number of people and gives oral speech to send their message.

One of the main element of the organization is time management as it helps in making an
effective workplace and also aid in achieving competitive advantage (Reeves, 2012). If a person
utilize their time in effective manner so that they get chance to achieve success in appropriate
manner. Time management is important for every individual to get positive results. There are
various strategies of time management which is used by the ALDI to take better place in
aggressive market: Set goals and objective on priority basis: It is important for the organization to manage
its time in effective manner. For this it needs to set best goals and objectives on priority
basis which assist in defining the main purpose of the business. This also provide
direction to all the process which is performed in the firm in order to achieve the
competitive advantage. Effective organization of resources: It is done by the manager of the company to
organise all the resources in appropriate manner so that company get maximum outcomes
and enhance their productivity level. Scheduling: This is essential for the manager to set the best schedule for all the task
which is performed by the employees to achieve more efficiency. Time bound: To Set time for all activities as well as process of the business is very
important process so that positive results are achieved in less time period and also best
advantage from the market can be experienced..

the decision making process. For this I have to use motivational factors which take 3-4
months so that I am able to take any kind of decision in appropriate manner.
The another issue in my communication skills so that I m not able to communicate with
other people so that I have to join more classes and attend seminars to improve it
effectively.
3.3 Own learning against original aims and objectives set in the development plan
By using various types of learning style and skills I have easily set my aims and
objectives which is set in appropriate manner. For this I have to find classes which assist in me to
improving me skills and capabilities to take any kind of complex situation. After that it should be
done by the effective time frame. All this things should be done in a time period so that I can
easily manage my work in appropriate manner in order to grab my opportunities.

According to the updated plan development of my skills are improved in continuous
basis. I learn many things also reduce hesitation while communication with other which is
possible by the attending many classes and seminars. By mediation class in evaluate my feeding
up feelings so that I person all my work and task in appropriate manner. On the other hand I have
to work on my decision making skills because it take more time and also have to consult with the
top level authority which assist in me to taking best decision so that in can easily define and take
effective action.
