INTRODUCTION
Personal values and beliefs are determined as the crucial factor that influences the
professionalism among individuals. Thus, such culture is considered as the broad striving force
that directly or indirectly affects the individuals working within business (Burke, Redfern and
Marks-Maran, 2016). Therefore, for an HSC worker it is essential for them to enhance their
personal and professional development in order to meet the requisite work standards that is
essential to maintain. The present report discusses the demonstration of showing one's own
personal development while working in health and social care sector. Grasshoppers Day Nursery
has been taken into consideration which provides day care to children's who are in the age group
of 1-3 years.

I possess the ability to develop effective communication and leadership skills with
children's in order to provide them proper day care facilities. It also helps me to enhance my time
management skills so that I can manage my time according to the tasks given. Thus, all such
capabilities assists me to grow my capabilities and attain results.
Through analysing Honey and Mumford's learning style, I would prefer to obtain theorist
style as it help me to consider it the best suitable and appropriate style. It would also help me to
enhance my knowledge and experience of working in day care home and serving children's.

It is essential for me to monitor the plan appropriately so that development could be done.
It helps me to enhance my skills and opportunities and review the plan for further progress. The
personal development plan made by me needs to improve my Makaton sign language so that I
can effectively communicate with children's as well as understand their language. In regard to
monitor the improvements and enhance the skills it helps me to carry out the set targets
effectively. Furthermore, through gaining feedback I can enhance my time management skills

and compare the current and previous performance. For instance, it also assists me to provide
efficient day care to children's and handle their issues properly. Thus, I need to focus upon
improving time management skill and enhance my monitoring of the plan so that set targets can

Personal development plan plays a very effective role in regard to develop my skills and
attributes. Moreover, it has been assessed that I require 3 more months to improve my
communication skills and learn Makaton sign language in order to communicate with children's
of 1-3 years. Such skill would help me to enhance my non verbal skills and thus I can
communicate effectively with children's in order to provide them better care facilities within care
home. Effectiveness of personal development plan helps in improving me as a care worker of
Grasshoppers Day Nursery. Time management skills also assists me to improve my efficiency so
that learning ability can be enhanced. Through improving all such skills it aids me to
communicate effectively with children's and enhance my experience of working in health and
social sector. Thus, effectiveness of the personal development plan assists in improving my
efficiency as a care worker and deliver best performance within organization.

3.1
The nature of different professional relationships in health and social care setting can be
assessed in the context of Grasshoppers Day Nursery. The first professional relationship is with
the service users or the clients (Dinev and et.al., 2016). The service users of Grasshoppers Day
Nursery are children belonging to different age groups. This relationship needs to be based upon
the principles of care as children can only live in an environment where they get adequate care.
Another professional relationship is with the family members of the service users. As an
employee at the Grasshoppers Day Nursery, I need to maintain healthy relationships with the
parents of the children. These should be based on trust. It is the right of the parents to demand
quality services to be provided to their children. At the same time, it is their responsibility to
cooperate with the staff at Grasshoppers Day Nursery. In contrast to this, the nature of this
relationship is that the care worker’s responsibility is to keep the parents informed about their
child’s day. Relationship with the team members is another type professional relationship within

the health and social care context. This relationship is based on professional codes of conduct.
The care worker is required to behave in a professional manner with the other team mates.
3.2
The effectiveness of different models of support used in health and social care can be
analysed. Medical model of health considers that signs and symptoms exhibited by a person
indicate an underlying physical abnormality (Halcomb and et.al., 2016). Hence, it is effective at
directing the medical treatment at the underlying physical abnormality. However, it can be
critically evaluated that this model is not effective for studying mental illnesses. This is because
diagnosis of a mental disorder should be based on patient’s behavior rather than physical
pathology. According to the Social model, the disabled people have right to be valued. The
strength of Social model is that it helps in focusing on the qualities of a person with impairment.
It also assists in analyzing the issues and concerns of these people. However, it can be critically
evaluated that this model is not effective as it neglects the association between disability and
impairment. But, this model encourages organizations such as Grasshoppers Day Nursery to
challenge the discrimination that is made against disabled people. Hence, the nursery can make
efforts for inclusion of disabled children irrespective of their impairments. This model may foster
benefit of individuals however, it may not be beneficial for the organization as some parents may
not get their children admitted to the nursery is disabled children are allowed.

It is essential for care worker top promote the choice, ability and right to care for an
protect themselves while working in health and social care. Thus, I need to contribute and
support within business to attain desired goals and objectives. It is also essential for me to

It is essential for health care provider to identify the dilemmas encountered in
professional relationships and dealt with effectiveness so that best results can be attained. It is
my responsibility and duty to protect the health of children's and provide them necessary care so
that it does not affect them (Freese and Samaras, 2009). Being a care worker I face various
dilemmas at care home in respect of providing best care facilities to children or customize care
required by children. At that point of time I need to maintain professional relationship and deal
with the situations effectively. Thus, it would benefit me in accomplishing the task efficiently so
that best results can be attained. Like this there are various dilemmas encountered by me in
Grasshoppers Day Nursery and I need to deal with them effectively in order to maintain effective
relationship with every individual.
3.5
Being a care worker at day care centre I need to improve my personal effectiveness in
supporting service users, their family and friends. However, I need to identify the needs of care
users as they are very small children of 1-3 years of age. Therefore, I need to provide them best
care facility in order to enhance their well being. In the same manner, by providing care to
children it is my duty to support family and friends of service users and thus provide them best
information regarding health of their children so that it could attain desired results. Therefore, in
regard to this, I need to enhance my skills and attributes and thus effectively support service
users and providers so that children's can be supported in an effective way. It would also benefit
in terms of protecting the family and friends of service users and enhance their well being.

4.1
It can be assessed that my personal contribution to the work teams to which I belong is
the care worker in Grasshoppers Day Nursery and providing intensive care to support children's
of the age group of 1-3 years (Gray, Field and Brown, 2012). My own contribution to the work
team was that I pay full attention to the required care for children's and satisfy their needs so that
success can be attained. I also possess knowledge and skills of working in health and social care
sector that helps me to serve the children's with due care and support. I also attended different
training sessions in order to enhance my skills and abilities to manage the work load and release

stress. Thus, my main aim is to contribute to the team as much as I can in order to improve the
care and support delivered to children's. It can be assessed that Gibbs Reflective Cycle can be
useful for individual in order to help people learn from different situations that they experience
regularly and especially when the situations don't go well.
 Description- In such step, employees of day care asks the individuals regarding coaching
and describing the situation in detail. Thus, here they need to analyse the situation and
identify conclusion.
 Feelings- Here, individual within care home are motivated to interact and identify their
experience so that they can avoid commenting upon others emotions.
 Evaluation- Further, care workers are required to motivate and provide them coaching
regarding to look at the objectively at what approaches are undertaken and which has not
been followed.
 Conclusion- After evaluating the situation it is essential for each and every team member
to draw upon effective conclusions and reach to an end result so that workplace can be
made better.
 Action- At the end, care workers are required to possess certain possible actions so that
team members can undertake the situation and thus effectively react over them in future.

It can be stated that my contributions influences the collective effectiveness of the
different teams of which I am a member. Therefore, I need to carry out collective working within
different teams of care nursery (Griffith and et. al., 2012). Thus, through which way I need to
identify my roles and responsibilities and work as a team member in order to deliver better child
care. My own contribution within Grasshoppers Day Nursery is that I work efficiently and
contribute towards the care and support of children's. Working effectively helps me to contribute
towards care home goals and thus enhance skills and abilities so that I can work efficiently and
attain success. It also improves my ability of working in different teams and thus attain business
targets so that best care facilities can be provided to children's at Grasshoppers Day Nursery.
4.3
While working within a team it identifies different issues and challenges that are faced by
individuals that affects the expectations of care workers. I am working as a care provider in
Grasshoppers Day Nursery and thus it is essential for me to maintain proper coordination and
cooperation within team members so that they can carry out operations in an effective and
efficient way. It also assists me to accomplish the tasks and deliver due care to children's. Thus,
it assists me to accomplish the work done within set time frame. It is also essential for me to give
suggestions to my team members so that they can perform their tasks effectively. Thus, it
directly influences upon the business performance and thus effective communication could be
developed.

Being a team worker, it is essential for me to use all the skills and capabilities in order to
minimize challenges faced within care home. I need to focus upon barriers such as
communication that needs to be overcome so that appropriate goals can be attained. Also, it is
essential for me to make sure that I need to overcome issues and develop better workplace. Often
I realize that I need to distribute the work effectively among team members so that there should
be no conflicts and job role is carried out effectively. It is also essential for me to maintain direct
interaction with team members and overcome their issues. Also, I need to inform my colleagues
regarding professional code of conduct and follow the same so that Grasshoppers Day Nursery
requirements could be fulfilled.

It is essential for me to focus upon contributing towards collective effectiveness of the
team and thus learn different skills so that best results can be carried out within care nursery. In
order to maintain coordination among the team, I need to maintain effectiveness such as-

It can be concluded from the report that health care worker need to develop appropriate
skills and abilities so that they can contribute towards organizational goals. In regard to thus,
personal and profession development plan has been prepared that identifies the skills and
attributes which needs to be improved within long, short and medium term. Also, appropriate
resources are required by me in order to enhance the skills and attain business targets.
Apparently, I also need to monitor my own development plan in order to timely accomplish the
activities and attain success. All such abilities helped me to become effective care worker and
provide best facilities to day care nursing to children's.
