INTRODUCTION
The skills which led an individual to become an effective learner are known as academic
skills. These skills provide confidence within individual along with their participation in the
activities. Individuals possessing academic skills enjoy success in their field and often it becomes
easy for them to explore more in their field (Bond and Blevins, 2020). This report examines the
importance of personal development planning accompanied by aims and objectives for
professional development.
TASK ONE
(1) Define the concept of personal and professional development
Personal Development means developing and shaping ones skills and actions in order to
enhance the quality of life. It can be done by appropriate planning in respect of your career and
education, setting desired goals and taking effective improvement measures in order to achieve
the goals (Bossio and et. al., 2020).
On the other hand, Professional Development focuses on improving the meaningful
skills, knowledge and area of expertise in order to achieve effectiveness and efficiency in work.
The outcomes of these development will led to success and growth. Thus, the personal and
professional development helps to reflect both the personal and professional life of an individual
and spot light the areas which need an improvement.

As stated above, setting goals is an utmost important step towards personal development
