INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development can be considered as the learning process through
which a person can attain the goals of his own. Basically, it is concerned with the growth in the
behaviour and skills of an individual. With the help of education and training at the workplace
things can be improved at a large extent. There are lots of ways through which personal and
professional development can be done. Group presentation, attending skill development
workshops and participating in extra curricular activities are the normal three techniques or ways
which can help a person to develop his personal and profession attitude. This report will be
dealing with ways which are considered useful for the growth of any skills.
Activity 1
There are various ways through which someone can improve their professional skills and
one of them is the group presentation. Presentation is basically the way of delivering information
on a particular topic through use of technology and hand gesture. It is the way of presenting your
ideas in-front of a community. With the face to face briefing of own views to the audience takes
place. This can be in the form of public speeches, informal gossips, town meetings, debates,
workshops and seminars. But it is analysed that all the presentation have a common quality as
they have aim of discussing problems, issues, action plans and the goals.
I have given various presentation which has enhanced my qualities and I got a chances to
learn various aspects of team work. Most of the presentation included the combined efforts of the
team members to which I was part of. With the team work presentation I came to know that what
are basic rules which has to follow in order to deliver a high quality presentation. All the team
members were from different parts of the region and they possessed some kind of knowledge
which was needed to obtain better results. At the initial level it was analysed that better
communication is the only way to get success in the team. There should be coordination between
all the members of the team. Whatever message is created should be conveyed to almost all the
people because this is only way through to make people aware about their roles and
responsibilities. To makes sure that this happens in efficient manner a suitable communication
platform needs to choose. The communication medium should be accessible by all the members
of the group. Other than this the message should be in simple language so that every individual
who are part of the team could easily able to understand. Group work is done so that there

should be increase in the awareness and understanding regarding the issues which are coming in
the way of the group presentation. With the team work there can be more knowledge regarding
the group members and the topic which has to be addressed through it.
This is the activity which grooms the personality of the personal at his personal and
professional level because in this there is lots of learning involved. There will be lots of
individuals who will be taking part in the group activities. So it will become difficult to assign
roles and responsibilities because each may have different opinions and skills. The first operation
which will be adopted here to make interaction which all the members and by this I will get to
know their potential and expertise subjects. By analysing their skills there will be analysis of the
presentation topic or the work which needs to be carried in group. According to it things will be
issued and resources will be allocated. They will be given the particular task and will ask them to
make proper use of resources and make bring efficiency in the work so that things can be
completed in time. I will get to learn things which I don't through the people who are holds some
knowledge on the particular skills. Different sources of learning will be used and there will be
extraction of the knowledge from the books, journals, personal learning and etc. It was a pleasant
experience to work with the different kinds of people at the single platform. I came to understand
the importance of team work because there are lots of advantage of it. On the personal level my
communication skills improved because for successfully completing any task it was necessary to
set link and coordination with the other members. Whenever I faced problem I went to my
mentor so that he can guide me on certain topic and at the same time I also made sure that I can
obtain knowledge in the particular field with the help of my co-workers. With the sharing and
exchange of ideas and views brought creativity in the team and this made sure whatever work is
assigned to group can be done with full efforts and dedication.
I got to learn new things but the most important things which I came to know that this
activity can only be made successful if the participation of each and every member takes place.
Everybody needs to be given priority and they should be treated equally, no discrimination has to
be done on any grounds. During the group I realized that new members are facing discrimination
and were lot allowed to speak at the training sessions. This made the performance of the team
down at some places because that thing has brought cracks in the team and at some point their
was no coordination between the groups. I learned that team meeting and discussion is the only
way to resolve the issues coming in between the effective working of the team. At the

professional level it necessary that feedback is taken form each and every team member because
this gives better insight about the performance and after analysis it I got to know what are the
areas where I need to improve. All the group work really made me more mature because now I
can feel that I have developed some personal and professional skills.
Activity 2
There are many types of activities that are indulged during the training and development
program. Personal and professional development plan is very much required in the current
scenario therefore many activities are carried out to develop the skills and traits in an individual.
Through various types of activities individuals are able to improve their skill, knowledge and
experience which has been used in long life. Such activities are as aligned below-
Workshops and online learning modules- In this process people research so many things
which are helpful for them to improve their long term learning and manage performance as well.
It can provide growth and development opportunities to people. Quality of individuals is also
increased with this activity. Also offer long term success to them.
Language skills- These types of skills can be improve when people start sharing so many
things with each other. While working in team, members receive information which are
beneficial for them in order to improve their skills and knowledge. All team members are belong
from different countries as they have different culture and language as well. So that, if they share
information of data with each other then they improve skills. Through which they can enhance
communication skills as well.
Problem solving activities- This activity is carried out so that the group member enhance
the quality of solving the problems. While working in group can identify conflicts of each other
and try to resolve their them as well in effective manner. All members have to take reasonable
step in order to provide best possible solution to people which is beneficial for them. They have
to use their collective efforts and perform their task in effective manner. Trainer have to conduct
open training session with their subordinates for the purpose of identify their problems which are
faced by them while conducting team working.
Forms of shape- In this activity the trainer asked us to use blindfolds and then we have to
create a shape it may be a square, a triangle or both can be made. This way we are analysed how
the problems that occurs can be handled.

Shopping- In this we are given some words which can be anything name of animals,
vegetable etc. Then we the group members has to illustrate a story adding those given words. At
the end of the game the members have to find out the secret words.
Send a message- In this the message has to be passed within our team members who are
standing far from me without using the verbal or written communication I have to convey the
message to my team mates. This way if we as a team is having any kind of problem that can be
solved.
Bridge that gap- Here the group members have to create a human bridge to a distance
that is been given by the trainer to us. In this activity we are restricted for certain part of our
body which should can be touched and which can not be touched on the ground.
Thinking activity- This activity help the members of the group to think upon various
objects. Trainers try to conduct mind games with their subordinates in order to improve their
thinking skills. Brain storming games needs to be prepared for the purpose of improve skills of
people and manage their performance as well. In order to attain this target trainers needs to
prepare plans and strategies for the same purpose and maintain their performance.
Join the dots- In this activity we all have to join the given dots in 4 straight lines that
should be linked with each other and also then pen should not be picked up at any moment. This
way the brain storming of all of us get started.
The horse- In this activity we have to use 5 pieces of the wood and an imaginary horse
has to be constructed with that. The main task in this activity is to change the direction of the
horse just by moving a pieces of wood.
Write 10 things- In this activity we all are asked to write down 10 words that relates to a
given scenario or a topic. When checked most of us has written same words then the word which
has been used most is chosen for continuing the same task, this way the game goes on.
Fast balls- here we al are asked to pass different objects to each other, so that each and
every individual can be able to see and feel that object and it come back to its starting point.
Then the trainer will tell every group that the others have done a better job. By this point all feel
to work more harder this way we learn to coordinate effectively in a team.
Develop academic writing skills- Members in a group have to join written group in order
to increase their such skills and improve work quality. Conduct practice on the daily basis in
informal workshops. In such workshops they have to members have to book personal tutorial.

Through this activity people can easily enhance their skills and simply explain things to anyone.
Take a part in professional writing for the same purpose.
Information skills- While working in a group members can improve skills through
collecting information and data from different sectors which are related to their topic. They have
to take a part in research data management.
Activity 3
Personal and professional development is very necessary for an individual to increase the
skills and knowledge and through this they can do work with more effectively and safely. For an
individual it is very necessary to improve their growth and learning. To develop them employer
can provide them training, coaching, workshops and classes. Professional development is very
necessary because it helps to increase the potential of an individual. Managers and leaders of
every company are responsible conduct training session for their subordinates in order to resolve
their problems and manage performance as well.
Training and development:
Training is very essential for the development of an individual. If training is done
properly then it helps to development of employees. It is related with the job and a short process.
In this employer provide training to their employees which can be technical and mechanical.
Development is very necessary for update the knowledge of an individual. It is like a learning
activity and which can help to fulfil the future need, it also provide growth to the career. It is like
a long term process and helps to generate or increase knowledge of an individual. Through this
process individuals are able to attain long term success which are helpful for them.
While working in a group trainers needs to conducting session in order to improve their
skills and knowledge. It is compulsory for members in order to attain their target and objectives
as well. Through this process they can reduce gap among new and existing employees. Some
needs to these types of training session are as aligned below-
If any new plant or equipment install in the premises then workers need
training for this purpose because they do not know how to use the equipment.
If there is any change of method or process to produce the product then also
there is need of training for the development of employees or workers.
If employer wants to improve the quality of the product and increase the work
efficiency of the employee and worker then also he provide training to them.

Monitoring:
This process is define the personal and professional development. Its refer to the process
of the learning of the student and employees in group in order to attain common goals. The
personal development of the professional life evaluating the group objective and goals. The
monitoring process define the rules and regulation for members who are actively participate in
group working process. All members having same goals and objectives and use their collective
efforts in order to attain the same. Team leader is the person who is responsible to monitor
performance of members who are working in group and identify that person who is not able to
meet objective. The importance of such activity define self awareness, a sense of direction,
improved the effectiveness development and monitor of group is able to motivate his
subordinates. It is the significant process for team leaders to control activities of group members.
CONCLUSION
On the basis of above report, it has been concluded that while working in a group each
and every member get opportunities to improve their skills and knowledge and manage
performance as well. They have to share information and data with each other in order to
enhance their communication and other skills. With the personal and professional development
in can identify my own strength and weakness which are useful for me. Long term success can
be attain with the help of various types of activities such as thinking, problem solving activity
and much more.
