INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development refers to the process through which individuals
can improves skills and learnings which helps to sustain in environment. This helps to keep
individual up to date according to external market (Redmond, 2017). This report is based on
NHS which is health care organisation providing services in all over UK. In this report, there is
discussion about comparison in personal values with principles to support at work place,
influence on personal culture and experience influence role of users in supporting health and
social care activities and at last new changes in personal values of individuals which impact at
health and social care.

1 Definition of values and principles
Values are the framework which guides employees about what is wrong and right at
workplace. There are different activities which has to be performed by individual while they are
operating in health and social care.
Principles refers to ways through which workers treat customers. As per principles there
are some set of operations which has to be considered by workers at NHS while they are treating
with customers.
2 How values are acquired. What are the factors which influence development of values
Values within health care organisation can be acquired with proper guidance and
motivating workers to give best. While individual is entering in NHS then it is responsibility of
management people to enhance them about culture of organisation. Values in individuals can be
acquired with the help of reading journals, family background, etc.
There are some factors which affects development of values are- friends, relatives,
surroundings, etc. in case individuals is residing among people who are well educated and have
respect for sufferers, then values develop in positive sense and vice versa (Grajales and et. al.,
2014).

Individual has values and principles of not taking alcohol, precautions while treating with
care, polite behaviour, calm nature, quick decisions, positive attitude, responsible, ready to

There are some code of conducts which are legally behind to individual to form some
changes in operations. These code of conduct helps to get positive impact on operations of NHS.
These values are ready to serve patients, polite and calm behaviour, etc. which is important and
relevant to get conduct in operations (Mittler, 2012). While conducting operations in ethical for,
employee are able to understand and grab values in order to achieve activities in more relevant
and significant manner. When values and policies are properly understood by individuals, they
perform activities in effective and significant manner.

health sector and effective managerial procedure. The advanced technology and the effective
managerial procedure has made the a great impact in the health and social care sector it has made
the job of the officials very easy and also provided faster relief to the patients in effective manner
(Mittler, 2012).
These changes would include social, medical, moral and legal changes
The changes taken place in the health and social care has made a effect on the various
segments which are medical, social, moral and legal in ways like: the changes in the social
structure has been in a positive manner as, it has improved the conditions of the people in
effective manner. The changes in the medical segment has resulted in positive manner as the
quality of the medicines has been improved and their effectiveness has been increased. The
moral and legal changes has brought the strictness in the managerial process and improved the
working conditions of the employees.

The changes in my values related to the health and social care have changed over the period of
time because the health and social care sector has been grown and improved in effective manner.
The changes in the sector has improved the living conditions of the people and reduced the issues
which were causing negative impact in their lives. All these factors has resulted in changing my
values towards the health and social care (McGowan and et. al., 2012).

professionals and on the users of those services. The changes in any field is executed to bring
betterment in that sector and those changes will automatically effect the working style of the

care. Whereas, the user will also be benefited with the new and developed changes and will gain
effective treatment and will be satisfied with the services.
