TASK 1
Concept of personal and professional development
The person lives in a dynamic environment and it is very essential for the person to
continuously look for development. This is essential because of the fact that when the person
lives in a frequently hanging environment then the person need to adapt to the latest changes
taking place in the environment (Tattum and Tattum, 2017). Hence, for this the personal and
professional development of the person is essential as this will assist the person in learning all
the latest changes taking place.
The personal or professional development is referred to as the formal learning of the new
concept and other advancement taking place in business environment which may affect the
working of the person and during their professional life as well. Thus, to remain highly
competitive in the market it is very essential for the people to identify all their weakness and then
try to improve it with the changes taking place in the market and the business environment
(Stewart, 2016).
Value of short term goal
The short term goals are the goals which the person need to fulfil in the near future only
and in very less time. Also, these short term goals are the one which are made to fulfil the long
term goal in effective manner (BEYGI and GHOLIPOUR, 2016). Setting short term goals help
the person in learning the new thing very fast and in effective manner as this will assist the
person in developing some of the skill in very less time. These goals generally last for the time
period of 3- 5 months. The short term goals examples are as follows-
 Complete the course of management with at least 85 %.
 To improve the communication skill within the timeframe of at least 4 months.
 To improve the use of body language and non- verbal communication within practice.
Value of medium term goals
The medium term goals are the one which are prepared for the period of at least 6 to 12
months of time. These are the goals which are essential to be monitored continuously as they
need to be addressed for the personal growth and development (Shaheen and Hameed, 2020).
The medium term goals for the person to develop are as follow-
 To purchase a property for the purpose of investment.

 To increase the time management skill with practice with over time of at least 10 months.
 To get a job in a good multinational company as an assistant manager is the retail sector.
Value of long term goals
The long term goals are the one which assist the people in developing their career and
personal growth for more than the one year of time (Radu, 2017). The long term goals are very
essential for the person to establish as this will assist the person in getting much better in the
personal growth and development and remain competitive in the highly competitive and intense
market. The long term goal of the person are as follows-
 Developing the new business on my own within the time period of at least 1 to 1.5 years.
 Having a post graduate degree in the management field.
 Developing the knowledge of at least two foreign languages.
Personal Development Plan
This is a type of plan which assist the person in assessing the fact that what are the areas
aims and objective which the person need to improve. Thus, with the help of the personal
development plan the person can come to know that how they can improve their personal growth
and how they can develop other skills (Rimmer, 2018). The personal development plan for the

the author are good or not.
 Purpose- the second aspect for checking the credibility of the source is to assess the
purpose of the article that is for which the articles is produced whether it is ethical or not.
 Reliability- this is another criterion of assessing the authenticity of the source wherein the
reliability is assessed from the fact that the source is used for how much time it has been
used in other researches as well.
 Relevance- this is another aspect on which credibility of the source is assessed to check
