INTRODUCTION
Professional and personal development is very necessary to a person for gaining huge
success market place. However, everyone has required to develop its various skills and abilities
for improving its personality and professionalism (Abramovich and Miedijensky, 2019). This
report discusses various HE (higher education) leaders’ skills and abilities in a reflective form.
Some major importance of these all HE skills also has been discussed under the reflection.
MAIN BODY
Reflection
Skills of HE and their importance to an HE learner
Communication, problem solving, teamwork, academic writing, presentation, IT
(information technology), decision making etc. are known as the higher education skills, and
these all skills plays an effective role to a higher education leaner of performing very well in the
academic session. According to my knowledge, if anyone has these all skills and abilities, then it
will simply gain huge success in its personal life as well. Currently I have well-developed
communication, presentation and decision-making skills as a HE learner, and these all abilities
always plays a very effective role to for gaining effective outcomes in market place. In this
dynamic and modern world, there is huge competition in each sector or industry, in which having
well-developed HE skills is the best solution to a person for gaining huge competitive advantage
in market place.
I have learnt that, currently there are lots of productive ways and techniques simply
available in market place which can contribute in the development of various HE abilities and
competences. In this situation, I have to take quick action towards adopting and implementing
these all techniques and ways in my personal life in order to develop my various un-developed
skills and abilities. Sometimes, people not achieve huge success in their lives just because of not
having the knowledge about how to develop various skills (Doberneck and et.al., 2017). That’s
why this is really a good thing to me that I completely know about how to develop or improve
out un-developed skills and abilities. As a HE learner, I have to achieve an excellent result in

academic session, in which I am sure that these all skills will play a very productive role to me in
gaining very positive outcomes in market place.
According to different personality development coaches and trainers, development of
skills and abilities is the first and most important step to a person in order to develop its
personality and professionalism. Currently most people in market place are completely aware
about the impact of skill development, in which this is very necessary to me that I also have to
take some appropriate steps towards identify which skills of mine are not developed. Then, I
have to make an effective action plan for developing own un-developed skills and abilities. Of
course, action plan is very important to us in the context of improve our various abilities and
skills. Currently many of people has gained huge success in their personal lives by using various
well-developed skills and abilities. There are communication skills, decision-making abilities,
time management skills, presentation competence plays an effective role to a HE learner as well
as professional (Visković and Višnjić Jevtić, 2018). This is the main reason that, currently I am
fully focused on continues development of abilities and skills, because after taking this step, I
will enable to achieve better outcomes in the professional life as well as HE learner.
Analysis of own skills
Currently I have various skills and abilities, but some are well-developed skills and some
are weak or un-developed. In this situation, I have conducted the SWOT analytical tool below in
this reflection to analyse own various skills in a proper manner.
SWOT Analysis
This analytical tool is very important to people and businesses, it enables to everyone for
knowing its various internal factors which can affect its personal live in both ways positively and
negatively. The SWOT term indicate our four major internal factors named, strengths,
weaknesses, threats and opportunities, in which these all factors has been discussed below in the
context of analysing own skills.
Strengths Currently I have well-developed communication, presentation, decision-
making skills and academic writing skills or abilities, and these are basically
strengths to me, because by implementing these all skills in own daily

operations, I can simply achieve very excellent outcomes.
Weaknesses I have don’t have proper or well-developed and IT skills, so that this factor is
weakness to me, because due to not having proper team work ability, I can’t
achieve positive outcomes while working in a team work. Due to lack of IT
skills, I am not able to use various modern technologies and gadgets.
Opportunitie
s
I have an opportunity to develop my various un-developed skills and abilities
by making an effective action plan. Action plan is enough to for making my
teamwork and IT skill completely developed (Ulishchenko, 2016).
Threats Day to day raising competition is the biggest threat to me, but after having
different appropriate skills, I can simply deal with the high market
competition.
After analysing own skills with support of SWOT analytical tool, I have to focus on
developing my teamwork and IT skills by making an effective action plan. Currently I am able to
continue developing own various weak skills and abilities by conducting various activities and
using different productive resources under the action plan. For example; I can read different
book and journals, internet blogs and articles which has based on “how to develop various HE
skills”. After using these all key resources, I will be enabled to develop own various skills and
abilities of as a higher education leader (Voller, 2016). After developing own all HE skills and
abilities, I can easily improve own performance and productivity at any place.
CONCLUSION
On the basis of above findings, it can be concluded that there currently there are
development of HE skills and abilities is very necessary task to an HE learner, because after
developing own skills, it can simply perform very well in the academic sessions. A learner can
make an effective action plan as well for developing own higher education skills.
