Introduction
Personal and professional skills are compulsory to be developed by an individual to get
a good and high reputed job. Personality development is involved to develop the skills of an
individual to perform their daily task which further help them to increase their personality in
front of society (Howard and Eddy‐Imishue, 2020). On the other hand professional skills are
those skills which are compulsory to gain to perform a particular job. Professional skills help to
gain promotions in organisation and enhance reputation. Some of the professional as well as
personal skills are communications skill, team development skill, leadership skill, time
management skill and many others. The following report covers importance of communication
skill, decision making skill and team working skill within an individual life to gain personal and
professional skills.

Personal and professional skills
My parents and my teacher always focus on practical knowledge rather than bookish
knowledge because they know well that in actual life practical knowledge will help to find job.
As an HE learner I have learn and develop some necessary skills which help me to get job in
highly reputed company. Some of the basic skills are explained below-
Communication skills- This are the skills which is required to communicate with
another person (Hinojosa-Pareja and García-Cano, 2020). I have learned this skill at my higher
education and my teachers help me to enhance my communication skill. They taught me read
English newspapers as well as watching business news channels on TV. After applying all these
activities I have seen changes in myself. Biggest change is seen in my confidence level. Before, I
was unable to communicate properly with my seniors and I always became nervous while talking
to any teacher of teammate but now I have developed my confidence level because I talk about
correct facts and figures on the topic. Communication does not mean only speaking and listening
but it also mean to represent correct facts and ideas in front of other with full confidence (Bozkuş
and Bayrak, 2019). Hence, I have developed this and my nervousness has been eliminated when
I have started communicating with my seniors and taking participation in speech or article
representing competitions. This skill is one of the most important skills in job. Today all

companies hire candidate after checking their communication skills in interviews. Hence, a good
communication skill will help me to gain my aimed job.
Decision making skill- This is the skill which I have learned by reading and solving the
questions of business case studies (Friedman, Herman and Fornari, 2019). Here, my teacher
helps to learn this skill. She told me to read a case study or a business article daily and tries to
solve the questions. She also told me to speak against the topic with some correct thoughts and
facts. I was the good player of my school sports team. Selection of new players is in my hand. I
select players according to their capabilities. My sports coach always told me that it might be
possible that sometimes I may made some wrong decisions due to time bound or due to wrong
data and figures provided by others to my. This might happen but I should not suppose to sit
ideal. My coach told me that a good decision maker always take corrective measures as soon as
possible after knowing that previous decision was not correct. Hence, a good decision maker
should correct things in case of any fault. This also helps me to learn decision making skill. This
skill is also an important skill to find desired job. I am interested in HR field where employees
are supposed to make some good decisions regarding making some powerful strategies. This
skill will help me to get my aimed job (Murray and et. al., 2020). Making some good decisions in
organisation is essential for every level of management. Some online courses also help me to
enhance my decision making skill.
Team working skill- This skill help me learn how to work in a team and what all
activities will impact upon whole team. I have learned these skills at my HE learning time by
taking participation in Group Discussions, Dramas, Skits and many others. I was a good sports
student. Hence, I have also learned to work within a team from by sports experience. In team
working, the most important thing is to be coordinative and cooperative with other team
members. In a team it is compulsory to hear the ideas of other team members and helping each
other will also show that the team is effective. Every team is provided by a team leader whose
work is to manage whole team. Team working skill is essential skill to get a good reputed job
because in organisations no ideal is supposed to work alone. Whole staff is supposed to work as
a single team to reach organisational goal on time. Hence, team working skill important for
effective performance in company (Kassymova and et. al., 2019). Having proper communication
with other team members, appreciating team mates on their good performance, helping to those
members who require help, teach new employees how to behave in a team and many other are

the activities which shows that an individual has good skills team working. Hence, for any kind
of job team working skill is important.
Conclusion
From the above information it is clearly concluded that personal and professional skills are
important to get high reputation in society. Some of the basic personal and professional skills are
learned as an HE learner. By performing some common and interesting task any one can learn
these skills like taking participation in seminars, listening how famous influencers use their tone
and how they communicate with large audience and many others help to lean communication
skill. Solving case studies at schools, deciding who will be under sports team and who is not are
other activities which help to learn decision making skill. Taking participation in GD and skits
are other activities of HE learner to learn Team working skill. All these skills are important for
finding aimed jobs in reputed companies.
