Personal Reflection Report: Project Management and Gibbs Model

INTRODUCTION
Personal reflection is the way through which a person may easily express their views and
opinions related to particular event. The current report is also based upon the personal reflection
on the case study which is already done. Therefore, by using Gibbs model of reflection, report
describe the entire situation (positive and negative) which further include project management
knowledge as well.
Reflection using Gibbs model
Description: While performing the project, I was so excited because it was my first
project in which I learn so many new things which will definitely used in my future life.
Moreover, the module is all about the Maxima LT which is a largest retail trade operator and in
2006, the company also attain turnover EUR 1.85 billion. Therefore, it reflect that from the
previous year, the company increases its turnover and in upcoming year, it also want to enhance
its turnover up to 20%. thus, while preparing this project I come to realize that I may easily
enhance my current knowledge related to the business and when I set up my own business, I will
definitely use the ideas and methods which I applied while preparing the this (Sekarwinahyu and
et.al., 2019).
Further the entire journey is so good and effective such that it helps me to raise my
current knowledge and also applied the same in my future as well
Feeling: Before an assignment, I was so happy and excited because this project provide
me an opportunity to learn something new except my daily ones. As the entire project is based
upon the firm in which I feel that the for business, in order to seek to maximize the output by
applying many automated process as possible. Therefore, when I go through the study, I feel that
with the proper cooperation of a team, I easily attain the aim and defined objectives and learn
many project management practices as well. I was so excited to learn the principle and practices
of project management which I learn during a session.
Moreover, after completing the project I was so happy because I learn new terms and
develop many skills, further, I also feel so good because I got a chance to work in a team where
we all share experience and develop further opportunity as well. I also feel positive when I work
in a team but on the other side, I feel many of them are not so comfortable. In addition to this, I

uses smart techniques which helps me to raise cooperation and put all my efforts in order to
deliver the project in better way.
Evaluation: While conducting the case study, I evaluate the working in a team is far
better than working individual because we all brings new ideas and share our past experience so
that we take a better decision. I also evaluated that I enhance my project management knowledge
and also learn that this technique involve five stages of initiating, planning, executing,
controlling and closing the work so that the team accomplish the defined aim and objectives
(Kerzner, 2019). On the other side, I critically evaluated that to attain the specific goal within
given constraint is consider as a challenge and that is why, I faces issues for the same. While
completing the project, I also evaluate that I posses strong leadership skills, negotiation and risk
management abilities which the project manager actually posses.
While on the other side, I also evaluated that I did not posses critical thinking abilities. In
addition to this, I realize that there are different project management techniques such that
communicate with all the stakeholders, creates a risk response team so that they handle the key
issues that creates negative impact upon the project. Further, it also include taking feedback from
others and then take decision accordingly so that it will not affect the decision in adverse way
(Fleming, Q. W., 2019). further, I also learn different practice of project management such that
defining the scope and objectives in which I understand the project objectives, next is deliverable
and project planning. On the other side, in order to implement the project management, our team
also make sure that we comply with the change control so that we can easily comply with the
sudden changes that will not affect the project.
I also evaluate that I posses good risk management skills, and also have conflict
resolution which may easily overcome any challenge. On the other side, the only thing we
lacking is technical documentation and we usually use manual register in order to note down all
the entries. The best part of working in a team is such that we can easily sort out each other
problem and make the project successful as well.
Analysis: the entire journey of my, is so good and also analyze that result of the project is
positive and I may easily improve the success rate of the project by using Balance Scorecard
methodology in which I set the standards whether we attain the defined am in the specific time or
not. Further, I analyze that I learn different practices o project management such that risk
management, change management, effective communication is essential, proper project planning

etc. I analyze that in Maxima for using systematic Research and development services, company
uses Balance Score card as a methodology that helps to find out the gaps between existing
situation and strategic objectives (Reljić, Pajnkihar and Fekonja, 2019). For that, company also
hire the project manager so that they may help the business to complete the project in better way.
While learning courses and the principles project management tools and practices, I
analyses that whenever I feel low, my colleagues and tutor provide me proper support and
always encourage me that I may easily complete the project. But during the same, I found that
due to lack of time, we did not attain the defined objectives in specified manner. Further, we all
three put out best efforts in order to complete the project and also gain knowledge related to
project management. In the same time I critically analyses some loopholes which affect my
working i.e. time constraints. Lack of technological resources. But the entire journey is so good
in which we enhance our knowledge related to practices of project management, implementation
and competencies of project team (Stonehouse, 2019). So that they we will attain the defined aim
and objectives.
Conclusion: from the entire journey, I learn that my current knowledge related to
business and its operation is raise in which I gain both positive as well as negative experience
during an event. I concluded positive experience such that to work in a team helps to attain
defined aim more faster as compared to work individual. It is so because when we work in a
team, I found that each of one share our views and then conclude the results by analyzing its
positive and negative impact. On the other side, I also concludes that I also feel negative
experience during the project such that due to lack of cooperation especially in time constraint
we did not put out 100 percent in the project and as a result, it got affected somehow.
In addition to this, I realize that I enhance my research skills, Project management skills
and team building skills that will also help me in my future. Apart form this, I have multi-
talented team members who always supports me to complete the project in better way and
motivate me to learn new things always. I also concluded that I raise my communication skills
and as well as presentation skills which will further help me to perform future project in better
way. While on the other side, I critically evaluated that due to low technical skills, I did not use
advance technology in my project which further saves my time and money and also deliver the
best project as well.

Action plan: As it is cleared that the overall project is went well and are also happy to
deliver the good project as well. But in order to improve my technical skills, I want to attend
training session where I may easily develop technical skills and also use the same in future as
well. Apart from this the journey is so enjoyable and also make sure that I will perform the same
in future projects as well (Kalk, Luik and Taimalu, 2019). Moreover, I also keep working on
such projects so that I never feel new and through different project I also enhance my current
knowledge and this will be further used in my future and next projects as well.
CONCLUSION
By summing up above report, it has been concluded that my overall experience for this
project is good such that I enjoy and learn different thing which will further help me in my
future. Further, using Gibbs model, I may easily express my views and share my experience
easily. Thus, it is concluded that by attaining the action plan, I will definitely raise my
weaknesses so that I may easily use those into future projects as well.
