INTRODUCTION
Skill development is the important for every individual for the survival of them in the
environment and also for the success of them in their professional career. There are many skills
which helps the individual to interact with each other such as communication skills (Mumford
and Dikilitaş, 2020). There are also some skills which should be present in person such as
technical skills, team work skill, time management skill and many more. This report is based on
the personal reflection of mine under which I express my feelings about the skill development
journey.
TASK
Gibb's reflection
It is one of the most important model of reflection which is used by many people to express their
personal views on any topic or aspect. This model provide us liberty to use personal style of
writing which makes easier for the writer to the express their views. The brief discussion related
to the journey of development of certain skill are given below:
Description
I have conduct personal SWOT analyses of my personality to evaluate the strength and
weaknesses present in me. I found there are many skill which I lack in my personal skills such as
communication skills, technical skills, team work skills and presentation skills. These skills
played important in the life of individual and the missing of these skills creates many problems
for me. When any project assigned by teachers to me in relation to develop presentation on any
topic, I found myself ineffective to develop attractive presentation. My communication skills are
very poor which restricts me to interact with other persons and also finds difficulties to give
presentation to other persons (McPherson and Macnamara, 2017). The team work skills is
related to those skills which helps the person to develop effective team and also to manage them
effectively. Team requires effective leader which are having superior leadership abilities. The
most important skill which I lack in my personality is leadership qualities which helps the
individual to manage the employees in the organisation and also provided them motivation. The
weak time management skills always creates many problems in determination of time between
personal and academic life. If I provide considerable time to studies then the my family

complaints and if I spend time with family then my academic life will suffer so it is important for
me to develop effective time table so that I can manage my time very well.
Feeling
At the time when I started to think about the development of these skills in my personalty, I feel
very anxious and the lack of confidence. There are different types of negative thoughts which
makes me afraid to start this journey. The negative thoughts which arises in my mind is whether
these skills can be developed in me or not and what about the failure also their outcomes. These
feelings enable me to restrict these. One of my mentor has very strong belief in me that I can
develop these skills and has potential to do that. He motivates me to start the journey told me it
will have great conclusion which makes me able to achieve success. I do the same as my mentor
told me and started this journey of skill development. In the beginning I find many difficulties
such as lack of resources and many more. One of the greatest challenge is the restriction of
changes by attitude and behaviours of me because it is not easy for anyone to accept the changes.
As the time goes things will become easier and use to develop the skills in me.
Evaluation
It is not possible for any aspect that they have only positive or negative side, they have
both because coin has both sides. This development journey also has both the aspect because I
joined an university to develop these skills in m,y personality. It is very important for the
individual to evaluate the positive and negative side of their development plan and also for their
action taken to develop these skills (Jeong, 2018). The negative of this development plan is that
it creates situation of pressure and anxiety if the execution are not taken place according to the
plan but the positives side of this development plan is that it helps to develop these skills which
provides them success. To develop these skills I use tom join workshops which only provided
them theoretical knowledge about the concept in relation to the leadership and other related
topics. It is not sufficient for the development of the above skills to only take theoretical
knowledge because the practical practise is must for the development. The positive part of this
overall project is that it changes different aspect.
Analyses
To develop these skills I use to join the university programme for two years. The university has
many programmes for the personality in any individual. I take the classes of team development
skills, communication skills, technical skills and management skills. These skills has played

important role in my life because I have to face criticism due to the lack of these skills. There are
different aspect of the university which I analysed in this university while studding in. It has both
positive and negative aspect which I analysed. One of the positive side of this university is their
management and their culture. The culture followed in the university is wholly based on the
equality because all the students are treated equally by the management as well as the staff.
Another positive part of the university is their well manned and experienced professors which
enables the person to develop the skills effectively (Hamilton, 2021). The negative part of this
university is their some students which misbehaved with the new students. I has to face many
difficulties in relation to these issues in my starting days. The negative part of this journey is that
it creates lots of pressure in me and makes confidence less in many situations where the
situations are out of my command. The positive aspect of this project is that it develops different
types of skills in my personality which makes me great man and able me to start my career with
great skills.
Conclusion
It is not essential for the individual to have always depend upon the positive result sometimes the
result are not favourable for the scholars but they does not nervous on that because each project
has opportunity to learned something which helps the individual to use in their life. In also
learned many lessons from this projects. The first lesson which I have learned from this project is
the importance of skills in personal and professional life. It enables the person to receive special
recognition from the society and also increases the chance of success in professional career. This
project develop feeling of belongingness in my personality. I have very less amount of patience
but this project develops considerable amount of this feeling in me which I can use to handle the
this types situation in my future life. The projects makes me able to manage the employees or a
group of persons because it develops qualities of leadership and management. I am able to work
in the team and also to develop and given presentation in between group of people.
There are many challenges are present in this project such as Apprentice Challenge
Presentation Challenge T-shirt Challenge Hotel Challenge which I have to face in my skills
development journey. In my past time I find difficulty to given presentation in front of other due
to low confidence level (Badenhorst, and Ndlovu, 2019). In university I have practised hard to

develop these skills so that I make effective presentation in any organisation. It is very important
for me to take design classes to deal with the challenge of making Tshirt and makes them
attractive for customers. The management of hotel is not an easy concept under which I required
to take the knowledge of hotel management.
CONCLUSION
It is concluded from this report that the development of skills is not an easy task for the
individual because it requires efforts and handwork to achieve them. The chances of failure is
very high in this types of projects but it is not impossible to achieve them. This report conclude
us the brief discussion related to the development journey of skills in the college with the help of
Gibbs reflection model.
