Prior to the data analysis process the data was cleaned, sorted and tested to ensure errors are
eliminated. The cleaning process did involve going through the rows and columns of data to
delete all the duplicates, remove incomplete data and make corrections where wrong values may
have been entered. In addition, the responses were checked to ensure they were in line with the
guidelines of the questionnaires. The data was sorted based on the response ID which was the
variable in the first raw.
Ownership of personal safety devices
Out of the total respondents who took part in the survey 70% did indicate to have never owned a
personal safety device before with only 30% having owned the device. The research showed that
only a small section of the sample population did prefer to carry the safety devices with them
frequently. Most of the respondents did not answer the question a sign that they did not possess
the safety device. The column chart below represents the outcome of the survey.
One notable outcome was the readiness at which those who possessed the safety device were

the most active users with ladies on the other hand being the group that are willing to spend more
to acquire the safety devices. The demand for the safety devices also depends on the mode of
transport with those who travel by foot and public means most of the time being the group that
are willing to use the safety device the most. From these findings the following
