PERSONAL STATEMENT
Why are you applying for your chosen course(s)?
The course selected by me is BA accounting and finance. The reason behind applying for
the course is that it offers wide opportunities in all industries, ranging from banking, technology
to everywhere in between. The course will help me in developing advanced theoretical
knowledge together with practical understanding about all things concerned with finance and
accounting. Moreover, the course covers key areas of management and financial accounting,
business law as well as taxation that will help me to gain deep understanding about roles,
functions and related aspects in successful organisations.

BA accounting and finance is an interesting subject for me as I am very keen to study
about financial aspects of business. I have completed my graduation from HND/HNC inn which
I attended all lectures concerned with finance and accounting. From the course, I will prepare
myself through gaining analytical skills, expertise in finance and learning the ways to make
strategic decisions in business world. The course also includes options for accelerate
understanding about costing, accountancy, law, economics and many more. From the course, I
will learn skills which are in demand by workforce in present era.
Why do you think you’re suitable for the course(s)? Do you have any particular skills and
experience that will help you to succeed on the course(s)?
I have keen interest in subject related to finance which makes the course of BA
accounting and finance suitable for me. Addition to this, I have good practical knowledge about
laws, principles, theorems and concepts related to accounting and finance that I have learned in
my schooling days. I also have good reasoning skills and fluency in solving mathematical
problems that will help me to achieve success on the course.

When I was in 12th standard, my field was commerce which is closely related to the
course that I applied for. It is because commerce is all about accounting and finance. Commerce
is said to the field in which a learner have interest in financial information, trading of economic

values and many more. The applied course includes detailed and further studies of commerce
that have huge relevance with the chosen course.
Have you taken part in any other activities that demonstrate your interest in the course(s)?
While studying commerce, I was assigned a project about accounting and I completed it
successfully. In the project, I collected all financial information of the company as well as
prepared financial statement that developed huge interest in me to study the course.

To complete the course, skills that I have are problem solving skills, analytical abilities,
financial reporting skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills and commercial acumen. I
am looking towards successful career in finance and it demonstrates my analysis potentials with
KPI driven results. Along with this, I also addresses financial implications of perplex business
structure and recommend personalised solutions for tax dilemmas to business partners of my
family. The problem solving skills will help be in learning about the course. According to me,
commercial acumen of mine helps in to understand relationship among fiscal behaviour and
demands in marketplace that is key for the course of BA accounting and finance.

Apart from the skills, I have also achieved top ranks in examinations related to
mathematics that makes me unique to study the course. I have also participated in various tests
that were conducted by my school authority. I am also proud of my position or responsibility that
was allotted to me by my parents to fill taxation compliance for our family business which I did
successfully.

I have interest in solving reasoning questions, playing different sports and reading about
great people who made various contributions in the accounting and finance field. Playing

different sports such as cricket and table tennis helps me to maintain my physical fitness as well
as toning up my brain. With this, I concentrate more on things and maintain my focus to attain
career goals. Solving reasoning improves my abilities for resolving different problems that are
faced by businesses. My skills and experiences will help me in completing the course of BA
accounting and finance as I have gained huge knowledge about principles and practices which
have been adopted by great people in the field of accounting and finance.

I have worked with Chartered Accountant of our family business. In this, I have acquired
huge knowledge about laws of finance, principles of accounting and many more. Other than this,
the field includes excellent jobs such as Finance assistant, Accountant Executive and hence forth.
The experience that I gained under the CA influenced me to study the course and work further in
the same occupation.

After completing my education, I started working under professional Chartered
Accountant so to gain knowledge for auditing, financial and general management, taxation and
so on. In this, I solved disputes, prevented bankruptcy, audited financial statements, prepared and
reviewed financial related documents addition to reports. Working under the professional body
have improved much of my knowledge for aspects related to accounting and finance. In this
duration, I was paid a stipend of £ 5000.

UK is a nice country that have various internationally recognised universities as well as
qualifications that provide quality education than other countries. I have huge preference to study

in UK as there are various opportunities that are offered by education system of the nation,
provides strong research infrastructures, permits work while studying and cross cultural
experience. I think English is the common language which is accepted in all countries and
studying BA accounting and finance in English language will open doors for me to work in any
type of nation. Since my childhood, I have been using English as main language and other than
studies, English is used by me in many types such as travelling in different countries, reading
books and so on.

After completing the course, I like to become professional Accountant in which I will use
my gained knowledge and experience of BA accounting and finance in auditing, portfolio

related to what I want to so in future as the course will teach me about concepts of accountancy
and finance that are widely applied by Accountants. With this, I will gain success in my career
and make my life enjoyable.
