Personal Statement
for University

As an individual and as a professional I have been working in hospitality and service
industry as a chef holding experience of working in different hotels and restaurants. Till now as a
chef I have worked in number of hotels and restaurants serving the numerous of customers. Since
the very beginning of my approach for growth are the professional or personal have included
encountering number of challenging situations and dealing with various critical factors. In my
field of work as a chef I was experiencing several different situations and scenarios where I dealt
with different customers, their unique requirements and separate level of satisfaction. So my
career and now I have learnt a very important aspect about hospitality industry that is customers
are the lifeblood of the business and the organisation and it is important for the service sector to
make sure that there customers are happy and highly satisfied. Now I have chosen to apply for
this program in the university because as I mentioned I have always been a keen learner and
want to explore different field of profession in order to make sure that my learning is continuous
and upgrading regularly. Moreover, as per my personal opinion I consider this time to be
exploring new opportunities as career options due to the current drawbacks that is being phased
by the hospitality industry of outbreak of coronavirus and spread of disease COVID-19. As an
individual I have identified the struggle through which the industry is going at present due to the
virus and the drawbacks that has been created in the economy. I found this time to be an
appropriate for me to switch my career path and explore new opportunities by looking over the
positive side of the virus and the situations that have been created in the market and the business
world due to it.
My previous work experience and education was belonging to hospitality industry and
learning the art of Management by belonging to service industry where millions of customers are
served on a regular basis. Show my past experience and work profile there are several skills
which I have developed such as rapid decision maker, emergent worker and most importantly of
working in a team and coordinating all tasks according to the requirement off the field. The job
profile of being a chef in different hotels and restaurants have enabled me to go through number
of situations in my life where I was expected to make rapid uses in order to manage the blunders
or critical situations that have been developed. Therefore, my previous work experience and
education have provided me a thorough understanding of the variations and variable factors
which can affect a professional work environment and over an individuals performance in the
respective job role. Hence, it is evident enough that my pastor job role and professional career

paths have actually provided me a thorough understanding of Business and the course I am
willing to pursue from the university in order to open new doors and develop new opportunities
for my career and to attain my life goals.
Moving along when the concern and the focus is implemented upon my decision to study
business it is evident enough that my experience and knowledge in the field of Business and
Management which I received the from my past job profile by saying on the other side of the
room is encouraging and motivating. While work in different restaurants and Hotel as a chef I
have gone through number of occasions where I learnt about aspects of Management. Being a
chef of a restaurant or a hotel required me to be a team worker as well as a team manager along
with a leader. I am performing three different roles on my current job position in order to
succeed as a chef and to perform in the most effective and efficient manner for attaining the
goals and agenda. This hidden aspect of my current job profile created a new zeal and
willingness for me to learn more about the industry and business world. This course will not only
help me in grabbing new business skills and allow me to break my boundaries as a professional
for examining and integrating certain new capabilities in myself. Therefore, it is my hope and my
wish that this new course and knowledge which I will be receiving from the university will take
me on a new journey of understanding a very unique, trendy and rapidly changing work setting
in the world of business industry. I hope and actually wish that this new path which I am so eager
to dig in can provide me new prospective as well as possibilities for my growth in a professional
field and for taking my personal life in a better direction.
I have been working in hospitality industry from past few years and through my
knowledge and all the situations I have gone through I am still experience at my job a very
common learning which I have received is no profession is easy and interesting without any
challenges. I personally believe that individual should go through certain difficulties and
challenges in their lives for learning new things and growing individually. So I don't expect that I
am not going to face any challenge while learning this new course and entering into a new
industry of work. The very first and fear full challenge which is making me nervous is the drastic
change I have been planning to implement in my life as a professional. Moving from hospitality
and service industry to a new field of which I do not have enough understanding and knowledge
is a very critical decision and will be bringing several challenges in front of me. But I am willing
to face all the challenges and work in the most productive manner for attaining my agenda

successfully. Another challenging situation which I may face while pursuing this course is to
come out of my comfort zone and perform unique tasks for better learning. Fighting the
challenge my motivation and willingness will be playing a positive role in keeping me active and
encouraged to learn everyday.
