MAIN BODY
Civil engineering is a technical degree that requires some specific base of knowledge and
skills to perform the future assigned job roles. I would like to say that I am willing to study in a
XYZ college and opted for the course Civil engineering as the most preferable subject. The main
reason behind opting for this course is that this course is going to help me in developing the
qualities of a engineering discipline that is dealing with the construction, design and maintenance of
the naturally built environment. I was always interested in working towards building up of bridges,
roads, dams, airports, sewerage systems that are very important components of a engineering
system. These aspects have always attracted as a course to be pursued for future course of
professional development. Civil engineers are willing to develop and supervise some large scale
projects as a part of construction projects. For this there is need to develop some detailed overview
of project requirements, testing it and then further evaluating it for building up of materials and
sites. All this is part of the process that is starting from the designing of the project and ending with
final completion of a particular project. I have a belied that I posses skills of creating something
different and innovative with a view to understand the requirements. Civil engineers require a
degree for ensuring that there is need of communication skills to lead a team of diverse individuals.
Further, critical thinking is helpful in planning of constructing a design. It is also useful for
solving of technical problems and then using some solutions that have to be effective safe and cost
effective at same time. I have the ability to weigh a decision according to its viable pros & cons of
various solutions to make some profitable & productive decisions. Civil engineers have to focus on
developing a signs of project from starting to finishing time for this there has to be management of
all difficult activities so that project gets completed in the specified budget only. XYZ college is
going to help me in development of my capabilities according to my level of potential that is a very
significant tool in the future prospect of development for a individual personality. I have selected
XYZ college because of the major reasons that it is going to provide me all the options of different
academic courses that I am willing to pursue. There is a need to make some choices in order to be
skilled enough to deal with the estimated time of project that is one of most crucial skills of a civil
engineers. There are key essentials that are taught in this course that consist of skills related with
drafting, surveying and building up of a structural designing. These skills will be very helpful in
meeting up of future professional needs as a civil engineer that are being offered by this particular
degree of civil engineering. So, it can be summarised by saying that course of civil engineering is a
course that is going to benefit by providing future growth opportunities and enhancement of skills.
