Reasons
The main reason behind choosing the career in cosmetics started when I was a child and
my aunt used to put lipstick on my lips and took many pictures. I also learnt about skincare from
my mom which developed my interest in that field and at the age of 17, I understood everything
about the skincare products. Also, people started taking advice from me regarding the same and
that time I realized that I want to qualify in this field. Also, there is a glamorous exposure in this
field along with many great experiences with everlasting skills. There are various lucrative career
options which can help in getting the specialization in advanced field or cosmetologist. It also
gives options to become an industry expert (Hibbott, 2016).
Choice of Destination
The reason behind choosing the MSc. Course of Cosmetic Science in London was that
this is the only worldwide opportunity for studying cosmetic science and also the institute gives
industry placement. There are various diverse career opportunities in this field which will help in
gaining valuable experience and contacts in the industry.
Expected benefits
The benefits which can be gained by pursuing M.Sc. in Cosmetic Science is that the
person can be ahead of the competition as the concepts learned in this field cannot be learnt in
other chemistry courses. For example, in cosmetic science, one can learn about subjects such as
polymer chemistry, emulsion science or in-depth skin science which is not possible in other
fields. Also, there comes various opportunities to enhance the best network with right people and
also can get a job out of the college. Networking can help in getting a desired position in this
industry. Lot of doors can be opened by doing well in classes as well as meeting with the
colleagues of the professors. Also, this becomes a safer career choice as this industry is facing a
rapid growth (Barton and et.al., 2020).
Relevant factors
The cosmetic science course helps in gaining in-depth insights about the cosmetic
ingredients in the cosmetics. By applying to this course, one can understand the skin and the hair

in much better way. The person can even develop cosmetic line or brand and also gain
opportunity to know more about the science behind the products and the process behind the
manufacture. My interest towards this field can help me giving my best in this field. My
favourite hobby which is the makeup can help me out in making career in the field of cosmetic
science. Making career in cosmetic science is a dream come true. Also, when I was 13, my
friends also noticed my work of creating colourful and Halloween looks which made me the
makeup artist of my group. My mother also took care pf her skin and beauty routine which
increased my interest in skincare. I also practiced for 6 months at a salon which developed my
knowledge regarding the cosmetic industry. This is how, I decided to apply for Masters (M.Sc.)
cosmetic science (Benson and et.al., 2019).
