PERSONAL
STATEMENT

Engineering is a vast field in which scientific principles are used for the purpose of
designing as well as establishing structures, machines along with other things which are related
with construction of roads, buildings, bridges as well as vehicles. Such field has large scope
which results in eliminating dimensions between various other engineering disciples. It includes
broad range of specialized fields which emphasis towards areas of applied science, applied
principles, applied mathematics and numerous other applications. This field focuses towards
providing solutions which results in resolving problems based on economic, social or so on for
the purpose of upgrading living standards of society as well as economy as whole. Difference
between disciples of engineering are related with tools, principles or techniques which are used
with the objective of attainment of goals. One of the disciple of engineering is Civil Engineering.
Such discipline includes application of principles for designing and construction. To study
construction as well as built environment it builds interest as such environment is adaptable for
various future uses. I have interest in such field due to its designing principles as well as
applications of mathematics as well as science. From the schooling times, I was keen to watch
construction activities and with passage of time my preferences became high towards site
surveys. My key skills are technical skills, critical thinking, communication skills and project
management which increases my curiosity to expand my knowledge in such sector.
When I was at the age of 17 years, my parents house was renovating and I was keen to
assist construction workers for loading construction material in adequate manner, erecting
structures, removing hazardous materials, organising resources, directing workers, cleaning spills
as well as assisting operators for heavy equipments for the purpose of securing attachments to
equipments in efficient manner. From that time only I started thinking to make my career in civil
engineering. I like to enjoy working in challenging environment which helps in demonstrating
problem solving as well as creativity techniques in effective manner. I have potentiality to
manage and organise activities to complete the work before deadline and in synchronised
manner. I like to prefer working in the environment that provides me opportunities for growth
and where I can use my strongest abilities such as team coordination, management, supervision
and so on. I am comfortable in working with team members along with remaining in profession
at the time more pressure is there to complete the work in short time period. I have realistic
interests which influences me to perform activities based on practical aspects with critical
thinking and providing solutions. I like to spend time with animals, plants and visiting hilly areas

to spend time with mountains, valleys and clouds. I perform activities by setting goals, routines,
procedures as well as standards. My these skills motivated me to choose career in civil
engineering. I always prefer seeking opportunities for learning new as well as challenging
operations by implementing skills in uncertain situations.
