PERSONAL STATEMENT

For me, there was no one to guide me when I decided to choose to pursue a degree in business
and management (health care). I made decision on my own by thinking what would be best for
me. I was happy while making this decision as I will solely be held responsible for the outcomes
of it. I wanted to become a healthcare scientist, which was a very new concept back then in my
school. I was good in science, especially in Biology. I was and still am keen to know everything
about human body so that I can help the needy. I attended biochemistry workshops at my
university gain better knowledge about this. I find myself happy helping others. The best feeling
is to save a life. I want to help others and save their lives for getting immense happiness.
Soon, I realised that my desire to be a healthcare scientist went in vain and I became more
attracted towards the job of a police office. My sister and brother in law are police officers in
Romania. I grew up seeing my sister to work hard for the country to protect the life of its
citizens. The current situation is that I want to take up this as my career. Since, helping others
make me happy why not help in dual way i.e. to protect the people of my country and to provide
medical assistance in extreme case where doctors can not be reached immediately.
My family has supported my decision to become a police officer. They have taken me to the
special classes of police force to make me aware of what a police has to go through to get into
that position. Further, I have went to meet my sis in Romania to see how this force work there as
I do not want to take any chance in selecting the country for serving. I have seen how they risk
their lives for protecting others. I want to show the same dedication. I want to be recognized for
my good works so that my family can be proud of me.
I have been a great student through my academics also I did well in last two years in my
university. I have even secured the second position in my stream at my university. Therefore, I
am confident that, I will be selected as police officer. I know, that my passion for my people will
never ever going to end. I will do the right thing in legal way for the citizens of my country. For
me, this will a form of social work. It will give me immense strength to understand the situations
so that in future, when I'll reach to a position where I can implement my decision, I will surely
going to help to take the people out of deteriorating situations. I hope to continue my work in the
field to gain more and more knowledge so that I can provide expertise in saving lives.
