MAIN BODY
The university of Sunderland is a public research university which is situated in
Sunderland in North East of England. This is a very important centre relating to education since
the year 1901 and at that time Sunderland Technical college was established as a municipal
training college.
I have applied in the university of Sunderland for the course of MBA Top Up. The major
reason for applying within the university of Sunderland is that this university is ranked 99 out of
131 according to The Complete University Guide League Table 2019. Furthermore, this
university was also recognized by The Guardian as best new university of England in 2001. In
addition to this in 2005 this university was named a The Times Higher Education Supplement as
the top university in England for providing and distributing best knowledge and experience to
students. Further in 2012 the university was short- listed for ‘University of the Year’ in Times
Higher Education Supplement Award. Hence, this was the major reason behind applying to
university of Sunderland as this is very famous and quality of learning in university is very good.
Thus, if I will get admission in this university for the course of MBA top up then I will get
quality education and this will enhance my career.
Furthermore, the major reason behind the selection of MBA as a course for academic
development is that MBA is an international business qualification. This is a course which can be
helpful for me in developing myself to a great extent. Currently I am working in Concacaf in
Miami as a Senior Manager Competition and events. Here I am responsible for managing,
organising and coordinating among Competition International Tournament. Here I have been
working as head of team service division as well and also responsible for preparing budgets,
workshop presentation and many other responsibilities. Hence, if I will possess an MBA degree
as well then this will enhance my CV and will provide an upper hand in my future professional
life.
Further currently I am having a postgraduate diploma in Information System
management which I have done from University of Liverpool. In the current business
environment there are many upgradations in information system. Hence, because of this reason I
have done my PG diploma in information system management. Thus, in along with this I will do
MBA then this will provide me a major advantage and will help me growing in professional and
academic life as well. This will be an academic benefit as a new degree will be entered in the CV

and will upgrade my knowledge and information base. Another major added advantage of PG
diploma in information system will be that in management the use of information technology and
other technology is very popular in current modern world. Hence, this past degree will be
assistive in learning the new course of MBA with more ease and comfort.
Along with this I have managed many different types of events and lead a team in current
employment as well. Hence, I have all the skills which are necessary to become a good MBA
student. In addition to this I am also having different types of certification as well which adds to
my personality and will be helpful in better learning in MBA. The certification like Project
management certificate, New Horizon Computer Learning, Microsoft Publisher 2000, Corel
Draw 9.0 and many other different certifications. All these certifications will also be very
assistive in managing my study and new courses relating to MBA top up.
In addition to this my major qualification highlight is that I have talent of managing
customer and personal service. This means that I have proper knowledge of the different
principles and processes which are helpful in managing consumer and needs and requirements of
consumers. This is the major knowledge which is being provided in MBA course and I have
practical application of this skill. Thus, the course of MBA will be of very much importance for
me as I will be able to learn more and in detail the different ways of managing consumers,
managing team, how to implement changes within the business and many other different types of
skills which are essential for managing the consumers and business. in addition to this I am
having a PG diploma degree in Information System as well hence, this will be a supportive hand
in doing MBA in effective and successful manner.
I would also like to draw your attention towards the major skill of me that is self-
management. This is a skill for which many people pay and try to learn but because of wide
working experience and different types of certifications I have learnt the skill very well. It is
rightly said that what a person learn by experiencing is remembered by that person for whole life
as compared to what the person read. I have a quite well working experience and have gone
through many different situation and experiences which has affected my learning life to a great
extent. In pursuing MBA as well the skill of self- management is very helpful as if the person
will not be self- managed then he will not be able to concentrate on their studies and this might
result in not getting good grades. Henceforth, this skill I am already possessing and this will help
me in getting much better understanding of course. Thus, this skill of me of self- management

will be very helpful in getting better grades and knowledge relating to MBA top up from
university of Sunderland.
In addition to this another major skill which I possess because of my experience and
practical knowledge is better communication. I have worked in so many companies and was
involved in organizing of many sports event so I have good command on communication. In
addition to this I also have three different diploma degree along with a certificate in social media
management. Further I have different types of certification relating to computers and related
course. Thus, I have come in contact with many different types of people and university. Thus, in
dealing with all these different kind of people the most essential thing was the communication.
Hence, for accomplishing MBA in good and effective manner and with good grades I need to
have command over communication. This skill is already present in me and I will be able to
effectively communicate with other people and fellow students at the university.
Along with this I have the major quality of taking initiative and this will be of very much
assistance in pursuing MBA. The major reason underlying this fact is that in MBA many new
changes and upgradation takes place very frequently and for this learning initiative is required to
a great extent. This I have in me in effective manner as I have learned this with my professional
and academic career till date. All these experiences and learning have built in a good initiative
practise in me. This will be very much helpful in managing the MBA course from university of
Sunderland. The initiative skill is a skill which is assistive in taking first move in doing any of
the activity. Thus, in MBA as well there will be many project, assignment, spontaneous or on the
spot activities and in this the initiative skill will be of much importance. The major reason
underlying this fact is that with good initiative skill I will be able to manage the studies and
along with studies all curricular and other activities in university. Thus, this will give a
competitive advantage to me over the other student in university. Thus, this skill will also help in
securing good position in the MBA course and create a good image among the faculty and
teaching staff at university.
Further I would like to bring to your notice that I possess good team work skill and
experience as well. In learning of any of professional course the most essential thing working in
a team. The major reason behind that is there are many different people learning the same course
at university of Sunderland. As I will be also one of them so I have to work in coordination with
all the peers and student learning MBA. Hence, for this the most important skill which I will be

requiring is team work. Hence, this skill is already being possessed by me and will be helpful for
me in continuing my MBA with good marks and grades. For the completion of MBA many
different types of assignment and group activities will be allotted and all these will be effectively
attained only if I am able to manage team work. But to my goodness because of my job profile
and all other educational qualification and certification I have learnt effectively the art of team
work. With effective ability to work in a team I will be able to work in team and in positive
manner and this will assist me in creating a good image among other students and teachers and
staff at university.
