PERSONAL STATEMENT
My name is Mojammal Towhidmd and I have done MBA from Anglia Ruskin University.
Key module of such course curriculum includes global economics, financial reporting, cross
cultural leadership and international HRM. I also did BSC (HONS) in International tourism and
hospitality management. Now, I am pursuing the course of MSC from BPP Business School.
Further, I also got OTHM professional certificate, diploma and higher diploma. Now, I am working
as a shift manager in Burger King which is the leading American global chain of hamburger fast
food restaurant. Currently, I am doing research to assess the role of innovation leadership in
organizational change. In this, I will do in-depth analysis to identify the level to which such kind of
leadership provides assistance in managing the change within organization.
I have selected the topic of innovative leadership which is highly significant for the growth
and success of an organization. In the present era, changes in both technical aspects as well as in
tastes and preferences of customers have taken place at a very high pace. In this regard, innovation
is highly required for managing the change. Major reason behind this is that employees usually
resist for accepting the change. In this, by employing innovative leadership style, manager can
break the comfort zone and thereby, prepare them for performing well in the changing business
situation or environment.
In this way, such topic will provide high level of assistance to me for gaining a deeper
insight about the aspects as innovative leadership and change management which is related to my
MSC management course. This in turn also helps me in making my career or future brighter in the
field of change management. Moreover, in the fast food sector, changes take place in the needs,
demand and expectation level of customers more frequently. In this, by conducting research on such
topic, I can widen my knowledge in relation to such aspect. Further, I have experience in relation to
have proper monitoring of the work aspect of personnel. Besides this, I am also leading and
motivating the personnel of store team with an aim to increase their efficiency level. In Burger
King, I am also assisting senior manager in decision making. In this way, research study which I
have conducted helps in discharging activities as a shift manager in the best possible manner.
In research, from the literature review section, I have assessed that in past, researchers had
only focused on the role of leadership in change management. However, they failed to link the
aspects of leadership with innovative aspects or concepts. However, in the present time, innovation
is the key which assists both individual and business organization in attaining success. Hence, I will
address such gap in my study to a large extent which in turn provides deeper insight about such
aspects. It will also enable me to build an effectual and distinct image within Burger King. To carry
out the investigation in right direction, I will primarily develop suitable aim and objectives.

Thereafter, I will make use of internet and conduct analysis of the books, journals and scholarly
articles to get information regarding research issue. Thereafter, I will frame suitable research
methodology and thereby, evaluate as well as analyse the data gathered from survey. Thereafter, I
will conclude the findings of study along with recommendations. Hence, to accomplish the study
within suitable timeframe, such research plan will be adopted by me.
By carrying out such study, I would become able to determine the importance of unique
leadership approaches in management of organizational change. Moreover, by conducting survey on
the managers of fast food chain, research issue can be resolved in an appropriate manner. Rationale
behind this is that managers have better idea about the extent to which innovation is highly required
in leadership aspect for the purpose of managing change. Thus, by developing knowledge regarding
the innovative aspects and its importance, I would get success in Burger King by managing people
as well as change in a prominent manner. Further, I have chosen the University of Gloucestershire
because it is a Public educational institution. Along with this, faculties of such University are highly
co-operative, skilled and efficient. Hence, by considering all such aspects, I have selected this
University for my MBA programme.
I possess skills like effectual communication, problem solving and CRM, leadership, stock
as well as cash management and quality control skills. This can be considered as my strengths
which assist me in performing all roles and responsibilities within Burger King in a prominent way.
On the other hand, I place high level of emphasis on maintaining disciplinary aspects within firm.
This is of the main weaknesses of mine that influences the working aspect and behaviour of
personnel within firm. In the past, I have faced difficulties in providing training to the personnel
who have negative attitude. Hence, in this regard, to get high level of involvement of the personnel,
I have taken feedback from such personnel regarding their preferred mode of learning. This in turn
offered desirable outcome to me in relation to the training event. Innovation is the key of success in
each and every field. Hence, being the shift manager, I can get desired level of outcomes or success
by adopting innovative practices or aspects.
In this project, I will face issues in relation to the collection of secondary data. Moreover,
there are several websites which are inaccessible. Besides this, lack of the latest data regarding such
topic will create difficulty in front of me. Further, finance and time duration also act as a barrier that
will affect the significance of my study. In addition to this, such investigation will also assist me in
managing the business operations and functions related to fast food sector. Moreover, my career
goal is to become a successful manager in the hospitality sector. By taking into considerations such
aspect I have taken decision in relation to do PhD on the topic of ''Role of innovation leadership in
change management.'' In this regard, such study and its findings will prove to be more beneficial

for my career growth and advancement. Moreover, I can achieve success in the field of innovation
management only when I have ability to motivate the personnel towards the change through the
means of leadership. Only effective communication skills is not sufficient to become a good
manager. Hence, by conducting in-depth investigation on such topic I would become able to
develop my understanding in relation to innovative leadership and change management to the
significant level. In this way, by applying such knowledge at workplace I would become able to
good and successful manager in the hospitality sector. In my future, personal and professional
development plan, I can focus on becoming database administrator(DBA). In this case, my core
responsibility will be regarding performance of integrity and safety of the database. It will also part
of planning and designing of the database and resolving the problems overcome by the users. In
addition to this aspect, I will use special software to store and manage data etc.
