NURSING
I take this opportunity to write a personal statement for applying for Adult Nursing at
the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), UK. This statement would be a
reflection of my previous experience and the relevant activities and work experiences. A
different group of scholars has the belief that nursing is a demanding and challenging career.
For me, nursing is a rewarding career as one can gain an immense sense of satisfaction and
contentment through providing care to those in need. At this juncture, I am prepared to
embark on the career as an adult nurse. After serving as a healthcare assistant for almost
seven years, I now feel it is time to prepare myself for becoming a qualified Adult Nurse
practitioner and serve this section of the patient population. Though I have worked in
different settings and different sectors, the main area of my previous practices revolves
around care for elderly people with different needs.
Becoming an adult nurse practitioner would permit me to fulfil the ambition of
serving this population. Nursing is to be considered as a career for reliable, trusting and
dedicated people for whom patient interests is the top priority. A nurse working in the adult
care domain needs to demonstrate ability to build relationships with the patients who are in
need of affection and support. I believe my seven years of experience have helped me gain
these skills and I take pride in having the ability to make a difference in lives of people. I
have the desire to assist the most vulnebrale population of the community and this can only
be true when I become a qualified adult nurse practitioner. The role that a nurse uphods is
changing at present as nurses re required to adapt to developed practices for welfare of the
patients. more responsibility is being placed on the nurses with passing time and I would like
to mention that I am ready for this challenge. I am very much confident of embracing the
additional responsibility and taking advantages of the alterations and opportunities so that
they cane be used further in my career. My preference would be to work with the geriatric

population in future. The career path would certainly be a challenging one. However, I intend
to push through and get rewarded for my best efforts, hard work, and dedication.
I would like to mention that have been blessed with the opportunity to work with
healthcare professionals from diverse fields throughout the seven years span. The guidance
and supervision of some exceptional nurses have been fruitful and immensely helpful. I have
learned that a nurse must exert best powers to uphold patient wellbeing. I hope to do the
same, and perhaps I might become an inspiration for others in the same field. I feel that the
degree in Adult nursing would be a great step for bringing in my professional development. I
am passionate about the nursing field, looking forward to a fulfilling and long career in the
field of adult nursing.
